First one tried to kill the people who did that to him before ending his own suffering, and the second one we got to see just how much _human_ was left inside of them after the experiments
from what i remember in terms of pain, it was quite a lot. also there was a question of how they actually got the people they were using. I remember somewhere (idk if it was in the movie or elsewhere) but there was some indication that the only reason Robocop didn't off himself was because he was catholic and suicide is a mortal sin, so he couldn't self-terminate even with the brain erasing going on.

I think it would have been hilarious if Mr. Kenney (who was shot to death my ED-209) was revealed to be the first RoboCop2 prototype: Poor guy's now just a floating head in a robotic suit. No wonder he snapped.
Think about this scene. There are two humans in this suit, hooked up entirely into a painful machine. Every movement is endless pain. The only way they can end it is by ending themselves. They wanted to die. The first one took its torment as anger and shot the nearby scientists and itself so it can die. The second one tore off all of its circuits. Must be hell.
@Jim Jelly Jin jam Jimbo The actual concept behind the failed Robocop 2's was to create "the worst things that could happen to a person. One is just a severed head and the other is a human nervous system integrated into a robotic one. Living Hell.
The second one just wanted to take his helmet off, like when a real officer takes their hat or helmet off when they’re being introduced or something. He didn’t know that helmet was his actual face. Damn.
Actually, it’s worse than that. Longer story short, the helmet was extremely tight and suffocating, having just the 2 eye slits, and a small mouth slit, so it was trying to remove it so it could breathe better.
@@andrewpaige1194 It's most likely worse. I like to think he was like the first one, and wanted the pain and suffering to end. Idk if he has eyes, but he's suffering either way. Theres also no tissue in his mouth. No skin on his face. He had to feel his jaw open with electrical motors. If he was aware of his situation, he would be using a test that allows him to move freely to kill himself. He is suffering a decapitation, skinning, and disembowelment. All the time, for however long it took the OCP to make him in a sentient corpse with wires. They turned him into a metallic Frankenstein of a hell torment. Death for him was reward.
They also forgot to give the follow up Robocops a face, unlike what they did with Murphy (apparently they actually grafted his face onto a robot skull, which of course contains his brain). Verhoeven had this idea that retaining the face would be necessary to retain a form of identity for a person put into a robot body, even with the memories of previous life suppressed. This scene basically is a direct reference to that (notice how Robocain has a computer screen just so he can have a "face" to socialize with others)
The first one had a screen for a face as well. That didn't stop his little "Columbine" moment. I agree that Murphy keeping his actual face was important. Not only was it his, it also had all of his touch receptors so he was connected to the outside world. Those prototypes were cut off completely and probably felt like they were in some kind of fucked up nightmare they could never wake from.
@toonbat - Nah, that honor goes to Robocop as he appeared in 3 and the early-mid 90s TV series: trying to appeal to a different audience while jettisoning the fanbase that made him popular in the first place.
Yeah but how do we really know it’s the woman from the first test who got shot? Like alot of people I wish there was a movie about the failed cases and backstory
Yep, that is a big corporate CEO. He sees a project that shoots 3 people, killing 2, and is only concerned about the money that was wasted on the project. Sounds right to me.
In all fairness, if *that* was what $90 million got you, I'd be a bit focused on the price tag, as well. You could have probably just built a new chassis for Robocop 1 and installed Murphy into it for the same amount of money, if not less, and it would have saved everyone a big heap of trouble, too.
It's implied those subject's brain pain center were firing like mad. So the sensation would be as if they feel pain in their whole body (Except they don't have one anymore).
Why only in morderm times?. In medieval and acient times they use real live people to test swords. And not by cutting their heads off but theirs limbs.

Kevin they need the brain to make the cyborg work. The rest of the body is not necessary.

from what i remember in terms of pain, it was quite a lot. also there was a question of how they actually got the people they were using.

But hey! look at the bright side, at least the cop didn't shot the black guy, that's a huge progress!
@@Alan_The_Jaguar no it's not
@@ivyme5783 yes it is
@@Alan_The_Jaguar: that is the most unrealistic part of the entire scene.
0:59 the guy inside is screaming but you can't hear him
why was there a guy inside it were they experimenting with human robots or some thing
OCP took brains from deceased police officers and put them into machines, just like RoboCop
***** thats so creepy
The first one had a screen for a face as well. That didn't stop his little "Columbine" moment. I agree that Murphy keeping his actual face was important. Not only was it his, it also had all of his touch receptors so
he was connected to the outside world. Those prototypes were cut off completely and probably felt like they were in some kind of fucked up nightmare they could never wake from.
very realistic how he said "stop or i'll shoot" then immediately shot
0:45 “It gives me great pleasure present to you...‘The SEGA CD’!”
1:22 “SEGA is proud to present... ‘The SEGA 32X’!”
Would that make Robocain the Saturn?
@@toonbat Not in the same order, but, more like Dreamcast, because of the graphics!
@toonbat - Nah, that honor goes to Robocop as he appeared in 3 and the early-mid 90s TV series: trying to appeal to a
different audience while jettisoning the fanbase that made him popular in the first place.
SEGA of Japan: $19 million...
Jordan Montgomery *whoooosh*
The first guy looks around and then starts to scream. Didnt notice that before. Wicked asf. And it was silent. That was strange
He looked at his ex wife to the right and went bonkers, made sure he killed first thou.
1:28 Forget Alex Murphy, who the hell was that guy? I wanna know HIS tragic backstory
It’s an she and the backstory is the woman from the other test died so they remade her into an ocp robot
@Mera .T yeah the logic is so bad
Probably another Dead cop.
Yeah but how do we really know it’s the woman from the first test who got shot? Like alot of people I wish there was a movie about the failed cases and backstory
@@starwalker6771 do we actually KNOW that?
Honestly these are pretty realistic depictions of how a person might react if they’re just brought back from the dead but not in their body.
90 mill trumps human lives. Then you, too, can be a corporate CEO.
To be honest, it seemed more like 'oh jesus christ, I gave them that much money and all they figured out how to do is disappoint and kill people.
@@LordTyph Isn't that basically what I said?
@@TurnAGundam was replying directly to op, didn't see your post.
can you imagine the pure agony those subjects would be in if this were a real thing? jeez thats.. scary
Richard The Psychic Chicken yep and that is the point
It's implied those subject's brain pain center were firing like mad. So the sensation would be as if they feel pain in their whole body (Except they don't have one anymore).
Why only in morderm times?. In medieval and acient times they use real live people to test swords. And not by cutting their heads off but theirs limbs.
Yes. MKULTRA still leaves me deeply scared and disturbed. A government doing all sorts of mind experiments with their own "citizens". And yet, few people knows about (it might be on purpose)
Yep
OCP really cannot go without live ammo during their demos, can they?
Apparently regular ammo is cheaper than blanks
Apparently they cannot provide proper testing rooms either
the only defense I could think of is that the demo video would have RC2 shoot down some targets, like murphy did in the first Robocop
1:31 was one of the funniest moment in movie history 😂
I love how both these "improved" Robocop 2s are far weaker and more fragile than Murphy. Typical cooperation always trying to fix what wasn't broken.
Well, Robocain would actually be a success if it's not the Drug Lord's brain.
@@phillipwalling7470 are you kidding? His sheer size and legs make him look like he’d topple over easily. Hes barely fit in any normal room or situation without being heard a mile away. Robocop is more humanoid and sleek
@@suna9555 No, you're thinking about ED-209, which proved to be flawed with what you stated. Robocain seems to be functioning fine and very effective. I'd say besides Robocop, Robocain would've been a success, again, if they had an actual cop like Alex Murphy instead of a Deranged Drug Lord like Cain.
@@phillipwalling7470 his hands certainly don't look precise enough same with his legs. Robocain has a more industrial feel to a robot rather than robocop's sleek cyborg looking design. He's like twice robocop's size and his weapons are usually always out
@@phillipwalling7470 I agree, a far more agile, combat capable platform with vastly superior weaponry, onboard breeching tools, and a mean as hell look to boot. If they'd put a cop into that chassis, and he'd stayed sane, imagine detroit once THAT hit the street...
I see Ocp hasnt learnt its lesson on testing before reveals not to mention reveals with live ammunition
Daniel rogers: haha yeah, you’d think they’d at least stop giving them loaded guns in their demos
I guess it's cheaper to hire new people than to delay product releases?
The people who run OCP aren't the kind of people who learn lessons, in other words, perfect for running tyrannical conglomorates.
OCP is a psychopathic entity. They don't care for their employees, thus they don't care their demos are fully armed.
To quote Benjamin 'Yahtzee' Corshaw: "Let's all laugh, at an industry, that never learns anything, tee hee hee."
