When I last changed car, my final two was the SEAT Ateca and the Peugeot 3008.
The 3008 just won, but I can remember the Ateca being more fun to drive.

I looked at all reviews i could find on this car and eventually made a decision to go for the 2.0 experience lux DSG 150 . Now i have just found your review and it is very good indeed . Only time will tell if i have made the right choice but by your comments and your positive review gives me the opinion i probably made a good decision . Keep up the good work . Enjoy your reviews .

Another excellent comprehensive review for Irish buyers! ... I own a 2018 Ateca FR 190 tdi 4drive. It’s a pity due to emissions they have dropped the engine, it really gives the car a sporting edge and often surprises people on its overtaking power.. 2 things for me they need to improve- the steering which you also touched on, has no real turn in feel when cornering which is a shame. Plus the seats are well bolstered but I cannot get the head rest in a comfy position which means longer journeys are a pain. Very reliable car, had it 3 years and not one issue.

I think steering has the same dumbness and delay I experienced with golf 7.5 I had for 3 and half years. I had sport version with 1.5 petrol engine. the insane rolling and bad steering sensation that it would react half a second later pushed me to sell my golf and buy something more stable reactive and stiff. at that point I opted for a more powerful engine as well. I own a Hiundaii i 30 n and there's no day I miss my golf even thou it had better interiors.

Hello, as the owner of the Seat Ateca, I have to admit that the car is very good, especially the 1.5 tsi combinations with the DSG-7 transmission. Consumption in the city is about 6 liters, on the highway about 7.5 liters per 100 km. There are two concrete disadvantages to this car. The first downside is the original Bridgestone Turanza tires (the tires are very hard and loud) and the second downside is the wipers. The original wipers started to squeak after just one month. Best regards.

I'm currently driving an old 2011 Mercedes B180 cdi which still drives well but at the time more and more issues are coming up. I was test driving the new Ateca and it's phenomenal. I've shortlisted it and let's see where it goes. Since my parents are driving a MB GLE 300d 4matic, I also want a car with a higher seating position. The Seat Ateca would be the perfect match, regarding the higher seating position and the value for money.

Have just come across your channel, and I’m looking at either one of these or one of its extended VAG family. Just wanted to say I loved your review. You’ve got a great style, and get across the features & benefits of the car really well. Think you might have swayed me over to the Seat from a VW T-Roc. Grand job! Look forward to seeing your other videos.
P.S. I love the park assist function. Had it for the first time in my latest 3 series, and it’s absolutely brilliant. My neighbour’s wife just dumps her car anyway she can, sometimes taking up 3 sodding parking spaces while she’s at it, and the assist gets me into tighter spaces than I’d fancy otherwise.

T-Roc is overpriced and small. Ateca is cheaper and bigger.

Great big well built family cars .....for me the one thing that stands out in the Ateca compared to the others in its class is the driving quality ...I have a few friends in the motor industry and according to them the Ateca is referred to as "a drivers car" ..its responsive, sturdy and holds the road like glue for a car of its Size.....Great review

This is based on the vw Tiguan is it not? I’m looking at the excellence lux for that reason. It seems to have all the safety equipment, including blind spot and rear cross traffic alert. It could do with better looking wheels tho, that’s the only thing putting me off it’s looks! Good review 👍

Currently looking at maybe getting this car this year, but I think the Karoq sport line looks better, but Ateca has better rear led lights, but the Xperience Lux model is the next one up with digital cockpit which I think will swing it for me. Definitely a hard decision in the cross over market! Great review!

I just got the Ateca xperience. Infotainment is easy to use, you just faffed it up. You only had to look at the bottom icons. As for park assist again, easy to use.

Is the 115bhp diesel too slow? Do you have to pay more for the 150bhp tdi?

  • @stevencampbell1150

Just watching this review which once again is top notch and the reason why it's so much like a Skoda is it's the same car as I'm sure you know. I noticed also the rear windows don't completely open as there was a small all be it very tiny part of the window still exposed. I'll be honest and say when I was buying my Kadjar I looked at this one as a possibility and that was back when the 115bhp diesel was a 1.6 which has been superceded by the 2.0 diesel. I think why I didn't was because it was alot more expensive and it wasn't to my mind a better car. Having said that in the petrol version the 1.5 petrol is notorious for issues as it has widely been reported with stuttering which the alledged software fix hasn't fixed so for that reason I'd prefer one of the diesels plus I'm doing the mileage to justify it and because Renault are ditching diesel so when the time comes for me to change I might consider it again.

    • @stevencampbell1150
      @stevencampbell1150 3 роки тому

@John Morris well you see that's just where you're wrong because I've since read of others that are still having that issue and that's after the fix. The 1.4 TSI which the 1.5 replaced was a much more reliable engine which is probably why all the Seat and Skoda hybrid models use that engine and not the 1.5, that plus the fact it leaves a little more space in the engine for the hybrid part.

Seriously considering the Lux version of this car. Am reading of wildly differing fuel consumption figures for the 1.5TSI, if gently driven I would easily expect 45mpg(??). Also reports of issues with oil consumption etc. These could be other peoples experiences that I have no way of verifying, eg how its been run in etc, I guess all cars will have reported issues from aggrieved owners. Great review btw.

If you use the engine to its potential all the time, it will be hard to achieve. This engine also has issues with a ‘jumpy’ nature to it when starting from a stop but it has been sorted I believe.

    Very good practical suv but
It seems to have aged quickly inside and out, new tarraco eons ahead of it grant it a lot pricier, new Leon interior way ahead also so a Leon estate would be worth more in a few year’s, I think the facelift needs a New model unfortunately

@@goodkingkarlos I would say it would be for the city-only driving, like going to work or standard shopping, or taking the kid to school. I have a 1.5 TSI 150hp and that is way more lively (8.3s to 100km/h, and cca 210 km/h with ease). 1.0 TSI (the stronger one) is better in the smaller Arona.
