Hi everyone and Welcome to Promethean Sewing Machines, where I am unashamedly rebelliously creative when it comes to taking old forgotten sewing machines and bringing them back to life in a beautiful way.
Meet my new project:
I had the privilege of painting this rare imperial Russian machine and I wanted to share her with you before she goes back home to France.
She's a rare beauty.

Ooh - I hope we get to see her test sewing when she's all back together. She is looking wonderful! (Fancy getting a commission all the way from Europe too - you've gone truly global now!!)
Beautiful work. Thank you for posting.
SEW beautiful & what a great story!
Love the finish. X
Thank you for sharing her with us!💕

Beautiful 😂❤
What a privilege it is to work on something like that and what a beauty she turned out to be.
That is one gorgeous machine! What a great feeling it must be to be able to bring life back into her.
Amazing! 😊 Thank you for sharing!
WOW! Beautiful ❤
Beautiful.
Pretty cool
Absolutely beautiful!
❤ love
Love the white
Marie, I love her. She is gorgeous. Thanks for the history lesson too, both about the factory and in relation to the tsars reign. I love this color as well. P.S. I have a 15-91 from "48. Very strong and very reliable. When I don't ant to fuss with my project, I got straight to her. Awesome machine.
I have a Podolsk that my late mother thrifted years ago. It sat in my living room as decoration, and yesterday I brought it back to life! A few parts were missing but I found them in her box, put her together, gave her a good clean, and she sews!!! I still have one part missing from her hand crank but a toohtpick did the job... Thank you Marie, I wouldn't even dreamt of trying without your channel ❤
It's always so exciting for that first line of stitching! Congratulations
I was thinking about it some more. Americans first saw the 15A during WWII, and a picture of one was in some publiblication is how Americans first learned of it.
I think it is a 15A, the letter being recycled when the plant in Anderson opened in the 50s.
I was thinking about it. The 15A was desired by a number of people in the US because of the big hand wheel. There was no special effort to get them over here. It would have been a completely ad hoc thing, and very rare due to the Soviet Union.
