I've been in the rideshare business for little over 7 years so far, but l have never done deliveries, but if l were to deliver some day then l will definitely follow your act of kindness.

I just take care of the disabled people. I have put groceries away and put things in the fridge. I had one lady very sick so I made sure she was OK.

I had a nasty old lady screaming at me one time. I called support to ban that customer. I decided not to yell back at her. I hold my temper.
Last year during the height of the pandemic I would not enter anybody's house. I would place them just inside the door or if somebody was in a wheelchair I would hand it to them. Today, I have no problem entering somebody's house if they are old or if they are obviously disabled. Many times I am greeted with a cash tip at the door. I have no problem putting it on somebody's kitchen counter or their table or whatever. I have put cold stuff away for them before too. I have not had any creepy situations. I do make my way back to the door as quickly as I can and then I will have a conversation with them outside the door if that's what they like. Sometimes I am the only person that they will see that day.
I once delivered 240 pounds of salt to a house for a water softener. The husband met me at the door and asked me to put it on the porch. They wife showed up and asked if I would take it into the basement and even offered a cash tip in addition to what they put in the app. I said no only because I had picked up this gig on my lunch break and had to get back to work.
What app was that on? How many containers?
@@GigTube Roadie. 6 40lb bags. Took me less than 5 minutes to dump it on their porch because I was able to pull right up to the front door. I spent more time at Home Depot picking up the order. It paid very well!

great topic. Do we enter someone's home? also a good question and its not a black and white answer all the time. I would enter only if asked to do so by end customer and would comply with request for assistance if it is something that takes no more than 2, 5 minutes max. Bringing in a heavy case of water or dog food is max 50 seconds. If your asked to stock the refrigerator with the 50 items you just brought in from walmart, well at that point its hurting your profitablity as you may lose out on the next order that comes in and you must decline. NEVER enter a home and allow customer to close door behind you. A closed door brings in the legal complexities of things such as kidnapping. NEVER comply with the request of a minor child to enter a home. We often have to make on the spot judgment calls but they usually fall under (1) is it profitable (2) am I safe (3) is my car safe.
I'd think if a customer intended to kidnap/assault you they'd invite you into their home. If you offer to help carry stuff inside and they say yes the chances of that happening are much less. I won't stock people's fridges and cupboards, though. I'm not their butler. You're not supposed to bring your kids with you whilst doing these jobs. The TOS forbids that.
Try to put myself in their shoes . Or just explain I am following the instructions if they get mad at location of dropoff. Then thatโs it I donโt respond ๐ too much tempting to say the wrong things. If theyโre disabled or it smells like piss I try to help as much as can thatโs why I will mask up indoors still ๐คฃ my appartment is a mess because of remodeling but I always clean once a week itโs sad heโs like that . People take advantage

When I see stories like this, the general buggy bullshit that happens with these apps - itโs a hard sale vs salaried job with benefits. Especially with the rise of remote work where you have much more freedom with your time
Nope! I wonโt go in pplโs home. Liability and possible entrapment. I always carry pepper spray. Tips and ratings be damned, my safety comes first. 90% of disabled ppl that live on their own have care workers that come in shifts.
