I wish we had courses like this where I live in Colorado. Mostly we have newer longer courses that I find difficult to play well with hickories. It would be nice to have an old course or two to play.
Thanks for watching! I can’t recommend it enough - hickory golf helped me fall in love with the game again. The best way to try it is by playing with someone who can show you the ropes. Here’s a link to check for regional play groups in your area. www.hickorygolfers.com/local-playing-groups/
Sure thing! I use an affordable setup I picked up on eBay, but I used to use a DIY method involving just a vice, level, and digital angle gauge that worked surprisingly well. I’ll pull that vid together in a couple weeks. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks! It’s definitely become my workhorse. You read about how the old players could use one club for a variety of shots - I’m starting to understand how with this club.
Nice play.
I like the look of the course, not too manicured and perfect for hickory golf.
Thanks! And yeah, this course is a good example of a more modern course that sets up nicely for hickory golf.
7:03 Holy Hell!
As my dad likes to say, "once per round, you often make a shot that no pro could do any better."
Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for watching! At the time, the old saying “even the sun shines on a dog’s arse some days” ran through my head, but I like your dad’s better. 😂

Cool videos man. Enjoy your series. I am very tempted to get in on the hickory golf.

Any chance of a tutorial on the best way to find the loft on clubs? Any tips would be greatly appreciated
