This thing is ridiculous. I just bought this for 30 euro only to find out that it cannot close! There is a small hole in it that you cannot close and that always leaks. What is the point of having a portable bottle that can't close!
Yes - it's a "tri mode" lid that is only "spill resistant" and not actually spill proof (see www.camelbak.com/recreation/shop/accessories/caps/horizon-tumbler-lids/CB-2437.html). The three modes are: full open, partially open, or closed (where there is a small venting hole). I believe this design is to accommodate hot drinks like coffee or tea which require some sort of ventilation.
@@TheSweetCyclists Where I bought it the description mentioned nothing about this and instead said that this thins was "ideal for taking on hikes." I think this is very misleading. I think this thing is quite useful for taking with you in a car with a good cup holder, but certainly not for any situation in which you may want to put it in a bag.
I think it's good for drinking either coffee or booze with ice and just keeping it hot or cold longer, I don't think it's meant to hold liquid in a backpack or anything like that.
What is the deal with the tiny hole at the top. I find it spills out when you have lid closed. What is the pin hold used for. To me seems like a design flaw. I would not recommend based on that.
These tumblers are designed with a venting hole (it can't be covered in any of the caps positions) at the top - so they are not really travel safe as they will spill. If you want more of a traveling coffee mug then I'd recommend a different CamelBak bottle or cap design for that.
Me gusta el diseño y el estilo pero que no se pueda quitar la tapa negra deslizable me parece que es un mal detalle pues no se puede lavar y secar a la perfección. Eso permite que genere bacterias. Igual el precio es bueno
I just bought the 16 oz and love everything about it (compared to Yeti which I have) however, I can't seem to remove the black slide on the top for cleaning. Does this part come off or not??
I don't believe it's supposed to be removed from the lid, but you could ask CamelBak customer support to confirm. They do sell replacement caps as "CamelBak Horizon Tumbler Lid Replacement - Tri-Mode Flow".
I love Camelbak

Hello ! Do you make temperature conservation test?
We haven't done an official temperature comparison, but the Horizon bottles have pretty impressive ratings for warm or cold liquids.
