@@Giga-lemesh Secret incantation of Queen Marika. Only the kindness of gold, without Order. Creates a small, illusory Erdtree that continuously restores the HP of nearby allies. Marika bathed the village of her home in gold, knowing full well that there was no one to heal.
To be fair, I've been in several very pleasant graveyards (and I don't mean it in the "look how cool and goth I am" way, but "actually would generally be considered a pleasant space" way)
@ Oh definitely, graveyards are very nice places, I love visiting them. I just like the juxtaposition of what I interpreted as “oh finally, Elden Ring isn’t so depressing” with what the lore says about this place. It seemed ironic to me haha
The Shaman village is one of the best lore drops From has ever done. Finding out what happened to Marika's people, seeing that minor Erdtree and hearing the game's theme. Then that realisation of where Marika came from and just why she tasked her son to go all genocide on the Hornsent...*chefs kiss* PS - Read the Minor Edtree incantation description Luke, it is sad! And the rest of the one for the Golden Braid too. Also sad! From can't do beauty without tragedy.
Always both impressive and bittersweet when Luke beats a boss so fast he doesn't even see all the moves they've got; my brother was stuck on Metyr for hours because of her spawning leap, where she "births" a bunch of lesser fingercreepers that make the fight a total chore (iirc they don't take damage from her attacks, so they'll stay in the fight until you kill them or beat her). Great stuff! Can't wait for next week's episode:)
I love the Shaman Village! I hope Luke reads up on it's lore and the connection to Marika, it's so beautiful and sad. It's also the only place in the DLC where a statue of her is not beheaded.
Her umm... mouth? Yeah, let's go with mouth. Was one of the most impressively grotesque things I've seen in Elden Ring so far. I love that it made Luke.exe stop working for a while.
I turned away from my screen for just a second, only to hear Luke exclaim 'Secret crotch button!'... Let's just say that I was only a little bit surprised! 😂
So happy that Luke has done my two favorite locations in the DLC! Also, some advice: -Read the full description of the Minor Erdtree and Golden Braid -Jolan’s Armor is in the Bonny Gaol, if you want Ray to get his Sauron look on -Try out the Finger Mother Remembrance. The staff is probably the best in the game, but Ray might do well with the weapon instead, so it’s your pick.
Fun little detail, the tree sentinel helmet and shield (and possibly a few other items, can't remember offhand) start giving off a golden glow when close to the minor erdtree in shaman village.
luke my man, put a note that the song when you mention "lady butterfly" is yours! I enjoyed the snip and went on a hunt to find this only to realise a few minutes later it's yours! Awesome piece!
Ah, yet another Elden Ring questline that ends in you having to tie up the loose ends by killing everyone even though you were only following the directions you were given.
"I knew Elden Ring could be nice if it wanted" yeaaaahhhh, so about that, in case no one has told you yet, read the description of the Minor Erdtree. Marika was a Shaman, whos people were all wiped out by the hornsent, this was their ruined village
Viewer's Log: 07:30 hours. Luke is running around with a giant nightmare, I mean sunflower. I'm beginning to suspect, that he is in fact, not a normal adult. Supplementary log: 07:52 He underestimated the worm
This made me think of Shooting Stars (old British comedy quiz show), and it's quick fire round, where the hosts would say "We really wanna see those fingers!"
10:59 the minute when u know who the patreon ad character is going to be for this episode 😂😂😂 39:21 “oh, that’s nasty.” Like this whole boss isn’t absolutely gross 😅
I've been using the sunflower with my strength/faith character just for the absurdity. Summon me for aid in battle? Boom, you get me wielding a giant sunflower. I can't see what I'm doing but it is satisfying to hit things with it.
Luke:"No one has 58 faith!" Me with 80 faith: 🫥😅 Awesome fight with Metyr, Luke. While she did take me a few tries, when I finally killed her it happened so fast I was completely cofused when she disappeared 🤣 Looking forward to the mountain next week!
there is not much in those finger ruins from this and last episode but they do contain a place to duplicate one remembrance each also loved how the end music also had the sounds of the sisters battling
15:30 That lovely Shaman vilage really gives me flash backs to the nice place where Father lives, in Enderal. Skyrim mod, turned full length game, really recommend it - FoC if you own Skyrim on steam, applies to both Oldrim and thingy edition. Really nice place, all calm and quiet and nothing tries to kill you, and oh you find some things, and Father isn't terribly happy, oh dear.
25:11 what does one call this many hands in one place? A palm of hands? A flock? A herd? I think this was your chance to add to the Lexicon of the English language Luke! If you don’t come up with a word in _this_ video, I hope you will in the next. We need a word for this herd!
If you haven't already, you should always check the items the remembrances give you. there's a particular item that Metyr gives you that might be of interest.
I watched another streamer (the Sun Queen.) do a blind playthrough of SOTE. It's a very different experience having something of clue with a guided playthrough.
Heh, I tried to avoid looking up anything about the DLC, but after nearly driving myself mad, I had to look up the gesture-in-front-of-statue thing. Glad I'm not the only one :P
24:18 😂😂😂 Oh Luke, you truly are a delight to watch. I actually hate pretty much every game From Soft puts out, but it’s puns like this that keep me coming back for each episode. Crack on mate! Crack on.
Something I would like to do in Elden Ring is defeat Malenia on my own without using any spirit ash summons. I've come close on more than one occasion, but it's her waterfowl dance that's gotten the better of me. I haven't quite figured out the timing for dodging when she begins using that attack.
The Finger Ruins are some of my favourite environments in the whole game. They're so unsettling and ominous, and their complete emptiness just renders them creepier. Also, how is Ymir's bodyguard so weirdly hot? It's like if Sauron put on the Bowsette crown.
Luke: "Elden ring I knew you knew how to be nice" Elden Ring: "Look at this memorial to a deep and lasting tragedy that underscores all the suffering throughout the rest of this game" Luke retains blissful ignorance but not reading the item descriptions 😆
Oh wow. I beat the mother of fingers but entirely missed the Count Ymir stuff afterwards, possibly because I missed the warrior woman entirely. That was so gross and rad!
Ah, this bossfight. [spoilers] I, for one, did not expect to fight a *freaking metaphysical hand scorpion that changes everything about Elden Ring's lore*! Thanks, Miyazaki.
So, the worm thing eating you was bad, but that animation at 27:03 is something I really wish I hadn't seen. They probably did it to me, but it's harder to see when you're focussed on not dying. Blegh.
Me shouting “read the flavor text!” The moment you picked up minor erdtree- its description would have made the beauty of that village a little sad too
This is going to sound like such a load of BS, but I swear it's true: I accidentally just so happened to be in the room where you're supposed to use the "O Mother" gesture when I decided to check out what that gesture looks like. I was in that room when I had the thought: "Oh I picked up a gesture a few hours ago and I never checked what it was." BOOM. Secret door.
"Perfect maternity wear!" really sent me 😂
Ray Sumshine wielding a giant sunflower is very appropriate.
Luke mocking a horse: "I'm the stupidest horse in the world oooohhh"
Me: this horse is doing the patreon read later isn't it?
23:43
Luke: Yes. Yes it is
Idk why but the "I'll respawn there if Gollum kills me" really got me. 😂😂
I was eating a snack, and very nearly choked on a Triscuit. 💀
I am a simple man. I wake up on a Monday and I get hyped for these videos.
I watch this while Mom Can't Cook downloads
I liked your comment even though us Aussies get our Normal Adult Luke content on Monday nights/Tuesday mornings. 😂
Those finger herds were exactly like school excursions, with two guardians/teachers going first and last, and all the children in-between them!
FYI Luke , you can get Jolan's Sauron armor in Bonny Gaol, taking one of the jar lifts up instead of down :)
Well, i know what i’m doing next
Luke: “[the Shaman Village] is where Ray is going to retire”
Me: oh…oh no…
“If we see anything doing, like, gold magic, we’ll pop this on”
Words Luke is definitely going to forget he said.
No one tell Luke tho...
it'll surely gonna haunt him like the time with skull lantern
If those finger monsters really existed I feel like there would be word for a group of them. Like "a crawling of fingers" or something 😆
A skitter of fingers XD
You guys are all missing the obvious "A handful of fingers" for some reason lol
Luke! Use the tailoring tools to alter Ymir's robes! You'll regret it!
Love that while the outro music is playing we can still hear the sister in the background going to town on those poor fools!
The comically impracticalness of the sunflower is brilliant
I love the moon insult. "I used to think it was biggest but then I realised it's just nearest" 😂
I interpreted it as "It was just the most convenient celestial body to worship at the time, because of how close it was"
Not Luke completely ignoring the description of minor erd tree and just enjoying the scenery lol
Oh no, what did it say?

I thought Messmer had one in his arena
The finger mother was a bit of nightmare fuel I shall not be forgetting any time soon.

Is it just me or did those “snakes” in the finger ruins seem to be WORMS
LUKE WHY DID YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE WORMS!!!
Well obviously it's because he thought they were snakes that he was allowed to underestimate
I turned away from my screen for just a second, only to hear Luke exclaim 'Secret crotch button!'...
Let's just say that I was only a little bit surprised! 😂
hearing the games theme music when you enter Shaman Village always hits hard.

luke: aw, I knew elden ring could be nice if it wanted!

I'm impressed with the Samwise imitation, sir!

You probably know this already then, but all the other Sekiro songs that played in this series are also his :D

Gaius' remembrance weapon the sword lance is one of the best guard counter weapons in the game. Give it a try!

Also the biggest effing fingercreeper guarding it.

Luke all of those booodstains were actually from people attempting a commander Gaius cheese method. Which involves hiding in that corner lol

How about a "Show" of hands?
A clap of hands?
A clutch of hands. A grasp of hands.
Luke, you should go to the Roundtable Hold and get the alternate appearance of the Count's robe :D
The slashing and clawing sounds over the outro bgm was hilarious 😂
