Never played dark souls myself but was very pleasantly surprised when, not looking at the screen I hear Luke saying 'the ball room' and pictured some sort of gothic banqueting hall, then glance at the screen to see a room with a literal big ball in it.
"I don't think there are any mimics in this playthrough. I think the randomizer has stripped out the mimics." I look forward to this getting clipped out in a black and white flashback later in the run.
The tiny armless humanity being the one who was throwing the giant boulders was absolutely hilarious not just a regular armless humanity no the tiny variant
I am not an anxious man. I do not usually experience fear. Everytime I know you are close to a bonfire, but you decide to go on an adventure and start treating Dark Souls like a platformer and dance on a ledge, when it is in fact one step removed from tank controls, my heart is all the way in my mouth.
The randomizer heard you wanting to have a fair fight with Ornstein to the point that you screwed yourself over trying to get it and kindly gave you the chance even after you took it up it on it the second time it offered you the glitch. Putting it on might have been for a bit, but honestly I think the dingy hood kinda makes the look. It says "This is a style I have deliberately chosen for myself, I'm not just just running around in a skirt and nothing else because clothes are too heavy for my emaciated undead body."
As someone whose whole darksouls experience has been aoife and johnny, and luke and ellen, i had to google this. For those of my ilk: Princilla says this when you meet her in the painted world. She da big nice lady with a scythe and tail.
Luke, I am not normally one to comment on any videos, I’ve never enjoyed a Souls or Souls like game, but I HAVE to say how brilliant a concept this is and how well you present it. Loving your channel!
when you cant pick up an item its because you are only allowed to have one of that item in your inventory. usually only something you have to deal with in NG+ so whatever it was int he bottom of the fortress was soemthing that was just a duplicate.
The giant rats (and the rolly-polly cats from Darkroot) are programmed to run in a direct line towards their normal home for whatever reason, which is why they immediately get the zoomies when you aggro them
That Firesage sure made it a mission to go live where you would least expect him. Basically the top scholar of hell deciding to guard a bridge to the cathedral of the gods.
Something really cathartic about Luke getting that proper fight with Ornstein that he wanted. Let's call him Super Ornstein because he's pretty super for showing up again.
With proof that this randomiser does do double ups, however rarely, it's no longer possible to figure out which boss was so scared of Ray, it chose to clip through the floor in the Lower Undead Burg. RIP
I've only watched others play Dark Souls, so I'm not sure what the glowy thing in Anor Londo is that Luke has to face, but I'm pretty sure it isn't setting out coffee and cake when he gets there.
After facing the consequences of your hubris and being humbled by the randomiser, it is genuinely shocking that you then managed to get through Sen's Fortress in 1 episode 😅 Loving this series so much, really looking forward to what Anor Londo has to offer. I hope you do The Painted World of Ariamis too! 💝
After thousands of hrs playing every soulsborne, I’ve only just realised watching this that Fromsoft reused the animation of the “bone dog” from ds1 for the werewolves in Bloodborne! I feel so stupid but just look at the animation, 39:20 it’s so obvious. They created the skeleton, then fleshed it out in a later game, no wonder I hate them in both games 😅
My other favorite FromSoft letsplayer recorded a full cover of that metal gear song to play when he climbs ladders. He has never gotten and will never get tired of this joke. There’s a really good one in Bloodborne.
This item randomization would be so funny in Elden Ring with all of those bonkers mechanics. Luke just constantly finding random pickled turtle necks and furlcalling finger remedies
A 50 minute playthrough? HELL YES, let me just grab some snacks 🥳 Couldn't have come at a better time, at the end of an annoying day, so thank you!! Always feel better while watching
I put a ton of hours into Elden Ring when it first released as my first Soulsborne game but completely stopped playing after a certain period of time because I started to get bored. Since watching the series I have picked it up again and had much more fun with a much better build. So thank you for giving me hours of fun not only watching these videos but in a great game.
As someone who absolutely abhors any kind of Metroidvania and subsequent Souls-like games, this series has been a blast to watch. Luke's ability to be so nonchalant even when bonkers odds are ahead of him really sells the schadenfreude vibes.
12:03 - I really wish Luke had edited that into a gif and just played that ball hitting that channeler over and over. Oh I thought that was just the best.
Telling yourself to calm down after all that excitement at the start of Sen's Fortress is brilliant. That was me the other day when I stumbled into the Cliffbottom Catacombs in Elden Ring with my new faith-based character. I completely missed them with my original melee character, so I was very much taken aback when I stumbled across the first Omen there. I had a bit of a freak out before he killed me, then had a sit down at the grace, lol. "Pelvis has left the building" made me choke on my chocolate. I still call the Black and Silver Knights "Bunny Knights", because the horns on their helms look like bunny ears to me. I've called them that ever since I first saw one and it's just stayed that way despite knowing their proper name. Kind of surprised it wasn't Super Ornstein, but it did say it wasn't guaranteed that there wouldn't be repeated bosses. I can't wait to see what replaces all the archers, and how much of a problem that fire demon becomes.
So if the next bossfight is multi-stage, and the randomizer recognizer each stage as a separate boss... Will Luke be fighting multiple different bosses next episode?? I guess we'll finally get an answer to that question!
The first 15 seconds resume is exactly what I was expecting this area to be in this playthrough, carry on my wayward soooon, only there will probably be no peace when you are done though, looking forward to it🥰🥰 Edit: so happy to see Dob's willingness to bring random NPC's along on the quest is now expanding to the Sunshine family, as another UA-camr crush would say "lovely"
I'm still not sure what's funnier, the accidental deaths in this, or the random rocks from the sky crushing your vehicle. Rocks from the sky might just have the accidental deaths beat. Lol
Luke, I've been watching this series and enjoying it but the whole time I've felt like something's missing. I realize what that something is, which is someone else to play off of. Dark Souls has scant few characters and thereby doesn't give you anyone to play off of and banter with. I hope your next game with have some characters that you can react to. Cheers!!
I really wish I had the time to devote... I maybe have weekends, sometimes, to play, and games like this, I lose my muscle memory and never go anywhere. I tried with BloodBorne. And they all look so fun. Awesome playing, Luke; I can't wait for the next time!!
Never played dark souls myself but was very pleasantly surprised when, not looking at the screen I hear Luke saying 'the ball room' and pictured some sort of gothic banqueting hall, then glance at the screen to see a room with a literal big ball in it.
I have also never played Dark Souls either but this playthrough has made me slot it in to the next spot in my backlog (after I finish Spiderman 2)
@@patientallison Just remember that this one is randomized, because Luke is a normal adult man and he wants normal adult challenges.
@@fabianlaibin6956 I'm fully aware! It's not the randomized aspect I'm looking at, I'm just impressed with the world design and tactics.
@@patientallisonIt is a wonderful world to explore. As is Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne.
"I don't think there are any mimics in this playthrough. I think the randomizer has stripped out the mimics."

The tiny armless humanity being the one who was throwing the giant boulders was absolutely hilarious not just a regular armless humanity no the tiny variant
“It’s simply a perpetual motion pelvis. Pelvis has left the building.” 😂🤣😂
I was eating spicy soup when the boulder hit that guy. I got said soup in my nose. Upside, my sinuses are clear. Thanks, Dr. Luke!
Oh no!(?) 😂😂
In less than 50 seconds Luke went from talking about focusing on the critical path to trying to get a ragdolled corpse up to the top of the fortress.
Right, critical path. He made good time!
This is the content I tuned in for. 😂
"A vast, interconnected world of sh*t" literaly the funniest tjing a human being has ever said
I was literally yelling "LUKE YOUR HUBRIS" when he started running down that path to check if there was anything. *YOUR HUBRIS LUKE!*
I am not an anxious man. I do not usually experience fear. Ah yes, the rare fusion of Dark Souls and Katamari Damacy
Luke: I can't let a slug be on top of this honourable knight's dead body
Also Luke: Proceeds to ragdoll the corpse halfway through the fortress
"This rat is peaceful, it's inhabitants kind." Had me in stitches.
Took me a few minutes too long to get that reference. At least it was the right rat.
As someone whose whole darksouls experience has been aoife and johnny, and luke and ellen, i had to google this. For those of my ilk: Princilla says this when you meet her in the painted world. She da big nice lady with a scythe and tail.
@@carkmailey6085 makes sense you had to Google it, since Luke slaughtered her before she could say it
Ghosts getting poked off edges by giant swinging blades, what a reliable source of amusement!
26:14 Foreshadows horror of painted world. One phalanx showing randomly means instead of normal it will be a monster house in painted world.
Luke, I am not normally one to comment on any videos, I’ve never enjoyed a Souls or Souls like game, but I HAVE to say how brilliant a concept this is and how well you present it. Loving your channel!
That's very kind, thank you!
He had option to buy Black Knight Halberd from Sens Fortress merchant. That weapon at +5 would unlock easy mode for his run.
when you cant pick up an item its because you are only allowed to have one of that item in your inventory. usually only something you have to deal with in NG+ so whatever it was int he bottom of the fortress was soemthing that was just a duplicate.
"he's slow" Luke says immediately before taking a giant hammer to the face.
Luke: "He's slow"
Also Luke: "I wonder if I can reenact the F1-falling boulders video in Dark Souls?"
"I seem to have poked you fatally" is my new favorite quote from Luke.
10:43 & 12:03 & 12:24 & 14:30 & 21:38 & 21:51 & 23:46 & 26:58 Compilation of Sen’s Fortress bestowing its gifts.
Bonus 42:05.
The giant rats (and the rolly-polly cats from Darkroot) are programmed to run in a direct line towards their normal home for whatever reason, which is why they immediately get the zoomies when you aggro them
"see how quickly my excitement turns into despair" Luke has truly captured the essence of dark souls
"If Christmas decorations could go off..."
Bravo. :)
That Firesage sure made it a mission to go live where you would least expect him. Basically the top scholar of hell deciding to guard a bridge to the cathedral of the gods.
In my randomiser the firesage was in that exact same place, and quelag appeared on the staircase behind him.
Luke's carousel of pain and hubris, woo!
Perfect description
Something really cathartic about Luke getting that proper fight with Ornstein that he wanted. Let's call him Super Ornstein because he's pretty super for showing up again.
Luke's obsession with the binoculars has finally cost him
I can't wait for the last DLC area. It'll be amazing to see what the randomizer has put in place of the crowds of humanity monsters down there.
Imagine if it was a bunch of Vagrants and Anor Londo archers...
"i'm so excited for sen's fortress"
no more than 20 minutes later
"sen's fortress you are *such* a dickhead"
perfection.
42:26 I see the golem falling off the bridge again, here, so you can absolutely use it as a shortcut. ;)
37:09 “Use The Bow Luke” … a voice whispers to you from across the pond. “Fight smarter not harder”.
Luke: I can't leave that slug on the knight's corpse, it's disrespectful.
Then proceeds to ragdoll it's corpse everywhere while laughing.
The Dragon Greatsword is, in fact, Big Squish.
This is my favourite series to watch. I love the chaotic energy
Always the content creator :D
Sees terrifying clam man in a hallway.
Immediately pulls out the binoculars to get a better look for us.
No cake, just a flame-grilled whopper.
There is a visual difference between regular chest and mimics. I won't say what but it's a very useful clue.
Kind of addicted to this series, been waiting for this all week! Let's go, Ray!
today hasn't been a great day for me but I'm not kidding when I say 12:03 made it all better
would be really funny, if there were just two Ornsteins in Ornstein & Smough's room
I avidly look forward to these uploads now. Thank you, Normal Adult Luke.
The childlike glee enjoying the ragdoll physics made me hysterical. Thanks Luke!
“Comedy lift” 😂
I believe "It's simply a perpetual-motion pelvis" is Pete Davidson's bio...
Luke: "no mucking around this time, only critical path".
Also Luke: "Let's take this guy to the top of the fortress" 😅
12:28 Bolt Paper
After facing the consequences of your hubris and being humbled by the randomiser, it is genuinely shocking that you then managed to get through Sen's Fortress in 1 episode 😅
Loving this series so much, really looking forward to what Anor Londo has to offer. I hope you do The Painted World of Ariamis too! 💝
"What is doing this to me?" You, Luke. You are doing this to you.
"This is your new house, dead rat."
But according to Scary Movie 3, if it's in a house, it's not a rat anymore, it's a mouse.
My morbid curiosity wants to know what the phalanx xp farm in the painted world looks like in this randomiser 😅😅💀
Here's hoping it's not a vagrant katamari. 😆
Ah, yes. A perfectly normal day in Sen's Fortress. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary here. 😂
I'm so happy for you, you got that Ornstein fight that Seath denied you!
well, luke, congrats. you finally got the fight you risked your whole playthrough for 😂

The rolling boulders just cleaning house had me 😂

23:07 these are not crabs lol, they're clams or oysters or something like that. And the skulls inside are where normally the pearl would be.
These videos have rapidly become one of my favourite parts of the week, thanks Luke!
A 50 minute playthrough? HELL YES, let me just grab some snacks 🥳 Couldn't have come at a better time, at the end of an annoying day, so thank you!! Always feel better while watching
Astonishing run! Just the fact you had a (relatively) easy time in SEN'S FORTRESS of all places, i am in love with this series
24:08 Nothing down there? Sure there is, there's pain and death.
i wonder if the item Luke couldn't pick up was a 2nd binocular that the game wont let him have but as he said there is no way to know what it is
I wonder if Luke’s gonna play Another Crab’s Treasure. It seems to be a beautiful, but horribly frustrating souls-like, which seems to be Luke’s bag
the best bit about 12:02 is that its a scripted event in the original game and it makes me laugh every time
darks souls is a comedy change my mind
Was listening to your music at work today and so excited to see a new video from you! Keep it up!
That humanity sprite is the sequel protagonist of "rock falls everyone dies"

Almost an hour! Yes! Can't wait to finish work and watch this!
Hell yeah, its chaos in Lordran day
12:03 - I really wish Luke had edited that into a gif and just played that ball hitting that channeler over and over. Oh I thought that was just the best.

"They say he left a very... sticky corpse"
2:16 that's a leech not a slug.
7:01 that's a leech not a slime.
20:25 that's a leech not a slug.
29:26 I think the heavy windup attack deals more poise damage with some weapons
My favorite album by The Kinks is "The Dingy Hoods Meet The Dank Heckhole".
So if the next bossfight is multi-stage, and the randomizer recognizer each stage as a separate boss... Will Luke be fighting multiple different bosses next episode?? I guess we'll finally get an answer to that question!
This randomised dark souls playthrough is the best
Ah yes, the black (silver) knight that lives under the bridge.
9:05 Reminds me of Fume Knight's greatsword.
Congratulations on reaching Anor Londo!
I didn't know I needed this kind of chaos in my life, ive watched them all up to now and I've been loving it ❤
I'm still not sure what's funnier, the accidental deaths in this, or the random rocks from the sky crushing your vehicle. Rocks from the sky might just have the accidental deaths beat. Lol
Imagine if the traps would be randomized too.
I think, since its randomizing the enemies, Mimics are just being turned into other monsters.
Having the best time watching the dark souls and Sekiro playthroughs! 😊
I'm impressed, given the weird spikes in difficulty due to the randomiser, that Luke's gone this many episodes before getting Rat Arsed. 😁
Luke, I've been watching this series and enjoying it but the whole time I've felt like something's missing. I realize what that something is, which is someone else to play off of. Never played any souls games but watching you has definitely got me interested! Just finished downloading while watching this video!
Love this series. Absolutely hilarious. Keep it up.
I really wish I had the time to devote... I maybe have weekends, sometimes, to play, and games like this, I lose my muscle memory and never go anywhere. I tried with BloodBorne. And they all look so fun.
Awesome playing, Luke; I can't wait for the next time!!
