Thank for your great effort to walk and video these beautiful touristy streets. Can I suggest you point your camera towards the insides of the shops? Then we can see what the shops are selling. Think this would be much more interesting than looking at cobblestones.
Beautiful- and so many young women (and some men) posing in traditional clothes in front of the old houses! Do they bring their outfits with them for the visit? They also have their hair and make-up done so well. Other than that, the young people look the same as here in Belgium: puffer jackets or coats, hoodies and very wide denim trousers. Not sure if globalisation is a good thing, but adolescents worldwide want to belong and the way they dress is a huge part of that. I also have a question about the tie & dye: they only use blue (indigo) on white fabrics, is there a cultural meaning behind this? I'm thinking white for the clouds and the snow, blue for the sky and the water. And one last question: did you visit a town where people wear and/or sell those gorgeous hand embroidered and batiked clothes made by the Hmong or Miao tribes?
Usually there are places in ancient Chinese towns where you can rent clothes and make-up, and you can also hire photographers to take pictures for a fee. 🦆
Miao villages in China are relatively commercialized, but I have seen local people wearing Miao/Hmong costumes in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Sapa, Veitnam and rural area, Laos. 🦆
