Your channel is such a great service to everyone and I'm very grateful. I was especially shocked by the fact that I've never seen a cleaner city anywhere, certainly not in America or Europe and I've travelled these parts of the world extensively. Even the wealthiest Swiss towns are not this spotless. I'm also ashamed of how much my local area here in America is so full of litter and graffiti. The people here have so little respect for beauty, cleanliness, their ancestors, their community, or themselves. We are a society with a spiritual illness that goes so much farther than mere material poverty. I know no society is perfect (and let's not bring in how corrupt and disastrous most governments are) but these local people in Shaxi are arguably some of the most outwardly civilized people on earth. They show their respect to their ancestors and they show respect to themselves. We should all be inspired by their amazing example. I hope one day to visit here and give these marvelous locals big hugs and lots of praise...especially to the town sweepers- true masters! It's places like this that make me proud to be human. Anyone with a passion for their home, for beauty, and for their community is the future I want to be a part of. I hope all of you reading this have a beautiful week.

Ich liebe diese mit Steinen gepflasterte Straßen und die kleinen Häusern mit Blumen bepflanzen Kübeln. Die Bewohner haben sich sehr viel Arbeit gemacht und alles ist sehr liebevoll hergerichtet. . I was in Shaxi on 6 Feb 2006 when it was just a sleepy hollow with a handful of tourists. I was captivated by it's quiet charm and history and spent a few hours roaming around. I'm so glad it's now thriving again.

What you didn't really notice about this video is that the colours are all washed out and dead. That is because the air pollution is so bad, and the air quality is so low that vibrant colours disappear. Doesn't matter how quaint or lovely the place looks: it's embedded in a country poisoned from the air all the way into the ground. I feel sadness for the Chinese people - their coming suffering will be extreme.
This could be a scene from a fairy tale story about ancient China. This place is truly an architectural gem.

雲南有如金庸筆下那種令人有懷古思情!小鎮不僅保留古樸建築的特色，藍天白雲，河道中間及河道旁矗立的綠樹，還有馬兒，彷彿回到古代的時光，美麗的畫面，的確拍攝的很真實也很棒🎉🎉🎉❤❤！旁邊有聽到炮擊聲，不知會不會嚇到馬？很是擔心！

沙溪是一个历史悠久的小镇，早在2400多年前的春秋战国时期（西元前770年－西元前221年）便已成为一处青铜冶炼基地。在南诏时期（西元649年－902年） ），溪古镇作为唐朝与吐沙西藏之间的缓冲地带之一，同时也是沟通经济、文化互动的茶马古道的主要通道。沙溪古镇作为茶马古道上的主要驿站，曾一度热闹非凡。 ，茶叶、丝绸、皮货、宝石及贵重的药材，都经过这里，转向其他地域。唐代以后，位于沙溪西部的弥沙墓种植了盐井，古镇的贸易也随之加入了新的内容─ ─盐。沙溪作为离开盐井最近的茶马古道集市，一跃成为茶马古道上的盐都，成为西藏、滇西北地区食盐供应的集散地。寺登四方街是沙溪的灵魂与核心，一直以来 是商贸交易的中心。它位于沙溪坝子中部蜇峰山蜇头位置，是一处断层完整的风水宝地，也是集寺庙、戏台、商铺、马店于一身、功能齐备的千年古集市。 街形似曲尺，正街南北长约300米东西，宽约100米，整个街面用红砂石板铺砌，街中心有两棵数百年的老槐树。四方街东面坐有东朝西 的古戏台，西边有西朝东的兴教寺，二者遥遥相对，将四方街平分为南北各半。随着茶马古道作用的消坐，这里也不再是移植云集的舞台。 的浅眠于石宝山脚下。这里没有大理丽江那样的灯红柳绿，也没有喧杂的群体纷扰，这里只是一个空间四方街，却是那么的古朴、静谧……
