In the Marine Corps especially color guards as I have been apart of many. We never grip when going to either left or right shoulder. It always has a salute type look. As someone who has also been apart of Drill Teams in my High School days this was how it is taught. When I went through basic training in San Diego it is how it is taught

Right rifle guard flares the inboard hand and left keeps the grip.

Having spent 10+ years on Color guard and Ceremonial Honor Guard Details, I cringed when I saw the Flag detail line up. There are things so wrong in here but I cant even watch the whole video because of blood pressure issues!!!!

Not an excuse but this HAS to be a reserve unit. I have not seen this in all my days. Nonetheless, this is the fault of the senior enlisted. A shame. I hope this doesn’t circulate except to PME

Don’t get me wrong there were some mistakes in this video as pointed. But Why do you say marching shoulder to shoulder is not authorized? I’ve seen all color guards march shoulder to shoulder even we do it in my unit. And how come halt is not a stomp? Since boot camp I’ve been shown and told the last step is a stomp.

I say it's not authorized because MCO 5060.20 says a color guard forms and marches at Close Interval, that's why. It doesn't matter what one sees or experiences, the standard matters. Most teams get it wrong.

Couldn't even properly adjust a harness. Get this out of my sight.

War fighting organization. Not a drill organization. Let’s just remember what’s really important.

It's the idiocy of that kind of thinking that is perplexing. So, only certain standards matter, not all. Ridiculous.

Right, that's why we do so much drill in basic training. Also why we have these ceremonies to begin with. You know, warfighting only.

@@davidwarner3326 Another ridiculous comment. When you firm a color guard, that your *job*. You are supposed to know as much as possible about it and your responsibilities. Stop with the idiocy.

Must be reservists. Being one, we really don’t practice enough of this shit.
Too busy with work tbh…this is the consequence
