Trucks went downhill once the Office Exec thought it wasn’t cool to drive in the average Joe’s truck on the weekend and turn it into a luxury Auto! Does someone really need Exotic Leather Suede Messaging Seats!!! AND a 100 inch Panaramic Sunroof!!! REALLY!!!!
Maybe the key fob is a problem because you aren't used to having something really large in your pants. Thanks, remember to tip your waitress and try the veal, I'm here all week.
Great point on the moon/sunroof! I just upgraded from a 2015 F250 King Ranch and went to 2020 F250 Lariat. On the 2020 lariat, No moon/sunroof (didn’t want ) no smart key (I didn’t want that) no navigation however has the big screen and upgraded sound (didn’t want nav anyways). With the 2020 the ford pass app allows remote start. I think they listened to buyers after they did the new body style. Thanks for posting! Good looking truck you got.
Hey Brian, To disable the double honk on your horn when you have it running, just leave the keyfob in the truck while hooking up or loading & it wont beep, or use Forscan to disable it.
Hey Brian, I am sure you got it down by now but regarding the exterior handle; just put your hand in the “scoop” portion to unlock the truck (while not touching the exterior black button). When exiting the truck just tap the black button to lock. The way I have been getting around the double horn going off (while running and keys in hand) is leaving the keys in the vehicle and locking the truck. This is assuming you have the exterior key pad to get back in. Keep the videos coming.
You talked about not necassarily wanting a double cab vs a crew cab. I will say this having the "double/extended" cab on my GMC Sierra and being new to the Dad life. I CAN NOT WAIT TO GET A CREW CAB!! That unecessary room you have now will come in to great use once you and Liz start your own family. It is a pain in the neck loading him in and out and everything that we pack for him with the restricted room. But, I can see where you are coming from though if you have intentions on making your truck strictly a work truck and not a daily driver as well. Great video man! It definitely gave me an insight on the newer Fords to weigh in on my decision to getting a new truck.
12:41 I had the same issue too. I live in California and ended up buying my truck electronically from a dealer in Virginia. I actually found the truck on Autotrader and then confirmed on their website, and then called the dealer directly. At the same time, I actually had a dealer in California search all the inventory for me nationwide. They can do that at the dealers. I was specifically looking for a long bed in the exact truck I wanted. As it turns out, the dealer confirmed there were none in the western United States, so I focused my efforts on the eastern US. For one reason or another, at that time, I noticed there were some areas of unusually high inventory at much cheaper prices than other places, and those locations were in Montana, Wisconsin, Virginia, Maryland, and South Carolina.
The reason Ford doesn’t do a small rear door is because it’s not only significantly more difficult for ingress and egress of rear passengers due to the addition of a central B-pillar, but customers purchasing extended-cab vehicles are often looking for more interior cargo space beyond a regular cab and are likely only carrying the driver and passenger with infrequent rear passengers. For anyone regularly carrying rear par rangers, they make the full four-doors. Moreover, when you compare the rear door size of the Ford to Ram, it is much smaller while still providing the same rear leg room.
Great video Brian, we here are laughing at the key fob explanation, hilarious! There are definitely good and bad things about every truck, thank you for sharing your concerns!
So why did you buy a Lariat as a work truck? I bought a '17 F350 with the premium package. It has telescoping tow mirrors, GPS screen, headed seats, but none of the leather, sunroof, LED lights etc. I have vinyl floor which I love for the ease of cleaning and it also has the plow package. I paid just under 53k for mine..
Cool video Brian. Reminds me about first Ford that I bought back in 1969. It was a 68 f350 with 9k miles. I paid a wooping 1700 cash for it. I had a 20 ton hoist installed to make it a HD dump. The bed size was 12’x7.5’ with 54” sides! We don’t generally use pickups for landscaping on Long Island NY. It’s all about material handling. Dump bodies are a must. I bought over 35 Ford work trucks from f350 to f650 during my weed puller working career. And loved every minute of it!!!
Great thanks so much Brian for a new edition of Truck Talk Tuesday:) I really appreciate your list, sometimes I really wonder what these truck manufacturers are thinking. Cost has really gotten up there. As for the perks well I don't mind the nice interiors and the tech things as you called them are really tools got the most part. The 360 camera is a nice thing to have, if it saves you from hitting something then it's worth every penny. I agree the moon roof is not really needed. I'm with you on the supercab over the crew cab, I agree on the door issue. On my dream truck it has to have an 8 ft bed I have the truck to haul things the more room the better. Again thanks for the Truck Talk Tues missed it 😁 PS I hope Liz is feelin better
Look into Forscan it can allow you to change factory settings like daytime running lights, door dinger, blackout interior lights etc. Just something to look into.
My dads a game warden in Texas and their mechanics do a really nice thing where they wire the truck where it doesn’t honk when you lock the truck, they can press a button and every light (ex. Dash light, headlight, ceiling lights, back up cam screen) and it doesn’t ding when you open the door. I think it would be really nice to have a option for things like that in a normal truck
I have a 2018 f350 platinum. I read the manual and the black fob on the door handle is to close, not to open it. I'm with you on the beep the truck makes when you step out of it with the key in your pants, its annoying as hell, and lastly, yes I hate the big key fob in my pocket. Good review bro
The door handle issue is not an issue unique to Ford. I had a 2015 Jeep GC with the same feature. The manual even says you likely may need to change your habit pattern of putting your thumb on the lock/unlock button. Just slide your fingers behind the handle. I personally love it! Loved it on my Jeep and love it on my F-150.
It's not just $1080 for the LED headlights, but the $3255 Lariat Ultimate package required for the LEDs. Or the fact that you have to step up to a Lariat in the first place. An additional problem is the smallish gas tank on the ccsb. If you're towing, you'll be having to fill up every 150-250 miles depending if you're in the city or highway. But according the website, the ccsb has the 48 gallon tank for the gas engine, which they have not corrected even for the 2018 model year
I just picked up a 2018 F250 w/ a 6.2 and I love it, but and I had to buy an XLT because the moon roof killed my headroom, which kind of sucks because I would’ve liked leather and some other features not available on the lower models. I hate moon roofs on trucks!
You can download the forscan software and change the programming in your truck with your laptop... so you can change most of the electronic settings you don’t like. You can also go in and customize a lot of features. It’s extremely user friendly software.
The door handles are fine once you get used to them. Keep your fingers off that black "button." Grab the handle like you mean it and they'll unlock. The double honk can be disabled, but you need to get into programming using Forscan. Google "forscan disable double honk". Lots of other things you can tweak in there, too.
Hey Brian thanks for making this videos ! Just wanted to suggest that you consider making a video that talks about things that can legally be done to improve fuel economy. Most folks go delete and put emphasis on big hp/torque numbers but those of us that either use our trucks every day and average 2000+ miles a month could use help on this department. Thinks like water/meth injection, stealth module and even DPF on tuning. Maybe you could make a video series on this topic alone. I hope you consider my idea.
The button on the door handle is to lock the truck. The intention is to grab the handle and wrap your thumb around it. Also unfortunately you cannot disable the double honk without using FORScan. It's pretty easy to use though. I work at a Ford dealership within 30 mins of you. If you're interested we could meet and I can show you anything you want to know about your truck.
The horn honking is just letting you know that the truck is still running so you don’t forget to shut it off. Try leaving the door ajar a little bit and see if it changes it?
I get that. But the overwhelming majority of folks do NOT like that works this way, regardless of what some engineer believes in terms of it adding more "safety" or whatever, lol. Everyone dislikes this feature, that I've heard talk about it. Way to go Ford!
Kinda late to the party but you can disable the double-honk with forscan. It’s a free computer program that you use a $20 OBD2 adapter to manipulate settings on your truck. Remove double honk and enable secure idle and you’re golden. Also, did I hear a fast blinker flash? You can change that too.
All valid points of things that annoy you. It doesn't take long to find things that bother a person when you are pretty much living in it. I bought a 2016 GMC 1500 Max towing new, and with the options I wanted it took a week to get it to me. There was 2 available, one in southern Michigan and one in Indiana. I took the one in Michigan because I liked the silver better than the red. There are several things that annoy me on my truck also.
On a different note for those interested, I have the manual shift on stop and actually like it because it makes the off road experience way more fun, and is more reliable. The knob on the dash only locks the rear differential, and the lever on the floor switches between the 4x4 options. You can drive the entire life of the vehicle with the hubs locked, but I usually lock them by hand (as required) when I get off the highway at my campground or off-road destination, and keep them locked for the duration of the trip.
We have a 08 F350 diesel, a 14 F350 gas burner and a 17 F250 that’s all we use 250 my favorite 👍 and I agree we are appreciative people also and are true to Ford but the prices are getting crazy
I have had my Diesel 2017 F250 Platinum for around 2 months & LOVE it!!! Sure, the handles sometimes don’t work, but I think they are fairly well designed. I added the Ford Accessory Parts to add App Remote Start - I can give anyone the Part #’s if they want to add the App Remote Start (~$700). The fit and finish of Ford made me switch from a GMC 1500. Directly comparing Ford to GMC... Ford has: 360 Camera, Twin Panel Moonroof, Touch Unlock Doors, Adaptive Cruise Control, No Key Start, Two Click Tailgate Drop, Aluminum Body, Heated Rear Seats, Fold Down Side Steps, Rain Sensing Wipers, Massaging Seats, BLIS, Inflatable Rear Seatbelts, Trailer Memory, Trailer TPMS... Most if not all of those are NOT available on GMC. Ive gotten used to the Double Beep thing. They want you to have a Dealer find the trucks if they are far away. My dealership found the PERFECT truck down near Philadelphia and I live in Rochester, NY. They managed to get it brought up 300 miles for the same price it was listed on the PA dealer, and I had my Trade-In Price Locked in up here... One note... Make sure you pay off the TERRIBLE Ford Financing with a Refinanced Loan Check immediately when your first bill comes. You do NOT need to make 1 or 3 payments... There is NO Pre-Payment Fee or Penalty. Thanks! Great videos! Keep them coming. Thinking about getting a Plow for my Beast!
F250 and comparable RAM and GM 3/4 ton trucks hold their value surprisingly well. But like any vehicle purchase, buying one that's 3-5 years old eliminates the biggest depreciation hit.
My 17 lariat mirrors once initiated will continue to fold in or go out even after my ignition is turned off... interesting you say your will stop right in the middle. Also you say you put your mirrors in every time you park, I’m pretty sure there is the setting that will let you have the truck do it every time your ignition is turned off if you want it to. Check the setting out. I don’t do it every time so I don’t use it but I am pretty sure I saw it as an option. But I will say the complaint I most agree with you on is the tow hook issue as I have a large RV and a flat bed car hauler and have tried countless things to fix that issue to no avail. Love all my space in the back seat though and haven’t had any real issue with the door handle and my thumb covering the lock portion of the handle either though. Hope you still love your truck as I know I do, loved my 6.0 as well though 😉
This is your interesting to see your viewpoints. Having a 2017 F250 XL trim, most of your complaints on the truck are not a problem (available feature) for me. Totally agree tow hook loops are too small, but the receiver spacer drives me crazy. It should have been designed to line up the hole when pushed in all the way. I personally love all the rear space in the crew cab (I also have 8' bed). I also found the 100 mile range on fords website to be an annoyance. My dealer went 300 miles to get my truck.
I kind of like the suicide doors on pickups. My 09 Chevy has them and I like how they will fold out 170 degrees to make the back half of the cab fully accessible. The one thing I do like about quad cabs though is how they're safer in an accident. GM or Ford it doesn't matter the suicide doors cabs crumble like beer cans unlike the quad cabs.
You can bypass that double honk by leaving your door slightly ajar, as long as you're not going far from the truck. I had the same prob until I found out by accident.
You can buy a house in some areas less than you can buy a 3/4 or one ton truck. Personally I like the Keyfob I can hit the correct button with gloves on.
Great video brother keep up the awesome work Truck prices are way to high they need to bring them back done some i sell use cars and classics have a detail shop seen some new trucks here in Fl in the 90s
Ok I also own a 17 f 250 lariat 1) moon roof with snow on it gets a ton of moisture just reach up and touch it and it’s soaked 2) having to buy a reducer for your hitch to accept a regular hitch. 3) radio shuts off when door is opened which pisses me off I have to turn it back on if I’m still sitting in truck when someone else gets out. 4) horn beep when u get out as u stated is so friggin annoying. 5) I love the fact that truck is aluminum but I also plow plow and don’t like back racks or the metal plate that mounts on your third brake so I spent big money to have led lights installed on truck to plow. I have a video on my you tube channel showing the lights go check it out u will like them. 6) rear seats not folding down like my 2013 did it’s such a waste of space I have seen a video of a guy that mods his so he can fold them down but for a $70,000 truck they should fold down. 7) the massive cup holder or compartment on drivers side is annoying 😂😂😂😂😂god your video struck a nerve. Also by the way all the other items u mentioned piss me off too !!!!
that key fob looks a lot better than my dodge one still. Mine always ALWAYS unlocks and locks the doors in my pocket multiple times whenever im in range with the keys in my pocket.
I especially agree with the suicide door on the f-250's! I'm a ford guy (hate GM trucks) BUT, I much rather have the back seaters have THEIR OWN FRICKEN DOOR HANDLES!
I have a 2016 f150 and have the same door handle problem and horn problems it's crazy annoying i also added 5/8 stainless steel hooks to fix the chain problem
I had the same issue trying to find a car for my wife through the dealer. I went to Auto trader and put in all the options I wanted and searched it out. I agree with the honking noise and it's annoying! I just bought a 18 f150 and love it with out the push button start.
Haha. The door handle unlocks when you put your hand in the handle. When you get out and want to lock your truck without taking the fob out of your pocket you touch the black button on the outside of the handle and it locks the truck.
If you own and drive the truck, it doesn’t work that way. You don’t tuck your hand in and wait for it to unlock. You rip the door to open it, and the system is delayed, and instead you end up with an unlocked door. It’s extremely annoying and a dumb system.
Brian's Lawn Maintenance, I do own and drive the same truck. You train yourself and get used to it. It works great for me, very handy, dont have to take the fob out of my pocket, love it. Have a 2018 escape and it's the same exact way.
The tow chain hook goes through the hole and hooks back on the chain aka “basket”. It places the lotion in the basket and does what it’s told or it gets the hose again.
Put shackles in chain holes to take care of the tow chain issue which was annoying, the height of the bed compared to a 12 model is like 3 inches taller and can’t get things out as easily and the shifter is directly in front of the dash vent and about melts it when u have the heat on
I have multiple newer Ford vehicles and I hate the horn sounds as well when I exit the vehicle. I try to keep the door open so it won’t do it or put the key in the cup holder. My F-150 lets me fold on the tow mirrors at any time. Power is never cut. So that is weird.
I have the 2017 XLT with Premium package, basically your truck without leather, moon roof and rims. If a lot of those things annoy you, you should've went that route. My fob is smaller, no moon roof, I can't leave the keys in my pocket because I have no push button start, my door handles are not the same. Also 10K cheaper. I love everything about mine, except those damn chain hookups!!! lol. Either way, I know your complaints are minor and you love the truck, how could you not!
Same here, 2017 XLT because I wanted some tech, but not what I consider unnecessary tech, which is most of what he is complaining about. Just upgraded the headlights to LED bulbs for under $100. My 2010 F250 Lariat had a sunroof, which I constantly had problems with. XLT has more flexibility in adding and subtracting options! With what I saved, I was able to add what I wanted, not what Ford told me I had to have with the Lariat package.
I love my xlt too. Just put power folding running boards and front leveling kit. Cant decide if I want XD or Asanti wheels, but when I'm done it will look like a 60k truck, for 37k.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance My 17 F350 Lariat doesn't have a moonroof and I wouldn't have one either. BTW A FORSCAN tool and a laptop can take care of several annoying electronic nannies. I programmed mine for foglights on with high beams, coolant and trans temp numerals displayed, seatbelt chime off, DRLs are parking lamps only(optional off all together) and Sirius deleted from radio screen.
My buddy got a 2017 GMC Sierra Denali with the diesel, moonroof, and LED lighting for 62K out the door. So I would feel that the GMC was the most bang for the buck. But I love the ruby red ford though.
Hunter Kennedy Honestly they’re giving away Sierras. They’re not selling at all. That’s why so many incentives and the lower price point. I even considered them last fall, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Just not a big GM guy. Although I will say, the truck does look nice with the right packages!
You can order a lariat with anything you want i did it .When you look for what's out there you live with it .That was your choice.I just ordered a 18 Fusion for my wife. There wasn't one around with what she wanted so she ordered it no big deal.you just have to wait a little.Read your owners manual you can turn off you horn beep plus a lot of other seat belt warnings. you just have to do it!!I have plowed snow with my 17 Lariat for the last 2 winters in Chicago.Best plow truck I ever had .Been plowing since 1979.Chevys& ford trucks Ford's the best so far .Good luck
Why didn't you buy the STX trim instead of the Lariat? Its a better buy because it is between the XL and XLT trim level. My vehicle is a 2017 Chevy Malibu 1LT with a 1.5L turbo engine and it has that annoying "double honk" when I start the vehicle to warm it up and go back inside the house.
Just brought home my new 2017 F250. However, it's a much different truck then yours so I don't share many of the issues. Regular cab, XL FX4 STX with power equipment group. So it being a truck that's meant to work doesn't have many of the options that bug you. The one gripe that I have with super duties while I was shopping, why don't they all come standard with brake controller and upfitter switches. This truck has everything I wanted except the upfitter switches and they are expensive to add on the new trucks, it was less then 100.00 to add them on the previous generation. The ebling rear hitch will cure your safety chain holes. ;)
Can you tell me what exact model and platform...and the packages you got....etc etc you got and what the total cost was? And where you bought from? I live in Des Moines Iowa. I'm looking at Ford F250 Lariats right now.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance what all did you have added to it? I see you have pushed button start I assume?....plow prep....do you have the trailer back up system with all the cameras and the fancy trailer know? Did you get the Lariat Ultimate pkg or whatever that has everything pretty much?
You grab inside to unlock touch the button on the outside to lock. Heck my f150 lariat was 62,000 . The horn honking lets you know your vehicle is still running because alot of people forget and leave it running and had them die from Carbon monoxide poisoning. At least the truck doesn't leave you stranded or the transmission goes to crap like chevy.
Back in my day you could purchase a new truck for $1,999. Now that was a no frills truck but back then there were not many options. Yet it got you around and got the job done.
Now everyone wants an 80,000$ designer truck to accommodate for a small peepee.i saved up for 2 years to get my f250.i gave my son my 99 f150 lariat great trucks.they were going to give me 500$ trade in
Hey Brian, just found your channel, great content man. Buddy let me tell ya, we're on the same page with #9. I'm picking up my '19 250 Lariat in Manassas VA this weekend. We live in WAY upstate NY, and there isn't anything around us. A few mom and pop dealers, but that's about it. I was able to find one online thanks to a few car selling search sites ( you know what I mean) and do the deal on the phone, but what a PIA. I don't mind traveling for the truck I want, but the best the dealer can do is 250 miles away. Manassas is like 550. Ford really should make it easier to search the inventory.
Brian, can I tell you what I think is most annoying? It's really annoying to me all the guys that have brand new 3/4 ton trucks that never tow or haul anything. The boxes have absolutely no tools or equipment in them.
I met a kid [still in high school] driving around in his brand new Silverado Z71 with 33" Nitto street style tires on 20" chrome rims. I had asked him if he goes "off-roading" and he said, "oh, hell no. Don't want to scratch my paint or wheels".
I own a business and just purchased 10-2018 Super Dutys and i have a 2018 as my personal vehicle and everything you mentioned it really doesn't bother me but that's me. Just to let you know the receiving hitch isn't built or designed by Ford it's actually designed by another company that builds hitches for all automakers. But good video
Everything mention true . I believe I over paid for my 2017 but if you want nice things you gotta spend the $$ . I don't know if you notice but the door handles seems flimsy and tow mirrors vibrate which shakes image while driving . Other then that it's a great truck !! Cheers
I also wish ford offered vinyl seating on more trims than just XL. I am a work truck guy I have had several Ford F-350 xl, and several f450 xl. I don’t like how on the 17+ that fog lights are not even an option where on the 11-16 the oem fog lights could be added. On my current 17 super duty I had to go with a ranch hand full replacement bumper and brush guard which already had the cut outs for the fog lights and add my own fog lights to my truck. Don’t get me wrong I really like a lot of the extra features that you can get just by upgrading from an xl to and XLT........ BUT I hate cloth seats, I’m sweating my but off everyday and getting dirty day in and day out, I like being able to just wipe down the vinyl whenever need be. Leather is nice and luxurious but also requires a lot of maintenance and up keep constantly having to oil the leather and do that stuff to keep it from cracking. Just my opinion, I thought it was foolish to up grade to a XLT just to get fog lights. Also I would really like to have the full center console not because I like the console but because it would be very nice for the rear passengers to have some ac vents also but that is not even offered in an xl. Quad beam headlights are not offered in any trim less that a lariat which I’m my opinion is just a way for them to convince you to get a higher trim package. and let’s not get started with carpet, again this is just my opinion but I really don’t care what trim you are purchasing at the end of the day it is a truck, should any truck really have carpet? After all weather your feet are wet, snowie, muddy, or just dirty why does any truck have carpet? Yes I know that make all weather floor mats and I know they offer a carpet delete option for the XLT and all the way up to platinum but it’s very difficult to find, most super duty’s sitting on the lot all have carpet. Rubber flooring that is standard on an xl I love! I have take a water hose and hose out the floors and then they look like brand new again.
Well why would you buy an xlt only for the console when you want all those other more basic features of the xl. You can still get xl with full power options. Folding middle seat is better than a console anyways.
Two things I hate about Brian's F250
1: it has a sunroof
2: It is not mine
Jesús H. Vázquez hard work and you can get one too ezpz
REALLY!!!!
Yeah sunroofs aren’t for me
Maybe the key fob is a problem because you aren't used to having something really large in your pants. Thanks, remember to tip your waitress and try the veal, I'm here all week.
I drove my uncles f250 lariat 6.7 power stroke turbo diesel 6 inch lift on 35 inch wheels....she’s a beast fell in love with the truck.
That’s why I love my 2000 f250 powerstroke 7.3 diésel not a lot of bs or crazy technology just a simple and reliable work truck
G hrvyck nothing that affects me until today and I’m at 316000 miles
Back in my day they were 6k brand new top of the line. 1977
Numbers 1-7 are all fixed by getting an XLT.
And adds a few grand to the pocket
i have a 2018 King Ranch and you nailed some for me. the handles is at the top of my list
I have a red 2017 F250 XLT 4x4 also!
It has less options, but I love it. Bought used, 31,000 miles, for $28,000. Its my dream truck.
So-Low Cuts Landscaping I have opinions you have wisdom, lol good to know tho pal thx for weighing in!
Brian's Lawn Maintenance I guess since the crew cab bothers you so much, we can just do a clean swap for trucks 😉🤙
Lol
13:50 pretty funny I got a good laugh. Keep it up hope to see ya around town sometime
Ford really needs to have a sit down with you, all legitimate gripes in my view and things they can fix.
I'll demo their 2020 refresh. I'll take one for the team. haha. Just tryna help!
Dang that's whats up lol Nice!
Again thanks for the Truck Talk Tues missed it 😁
PS I hope Liz is feelin better
Thanks brother!
But according the website, the ccsb has the 48 gallon tank for the gas engine, which they have not corrected even for the 2018 model year
Truth
I just picked up a 2018 F250 w/ a 6.2 and I love it, but and I had to buy an XLT because the moon roof killed my headroom, which kind of sucks because I would’ve liked leather and some other features not available on the lower models. I hate moon roofs on trucks!
I couldn't agree more about the 100 mile radius, that drove me nuts. I know I'm late but got damn.
You can download the forscan software and change the programming in your truck with your laptop... so you can change most of the electronic settings you don’t like. You can also go in and customize a lot of features. It’s extremely user friendly software.
John Fuhr Will have to look into that. Thanks pal
The door handles are fine once you get used to them. Keep your fingers off that black "button." Grab the handle like you mean it and they'll unlock. The double honk can be disabled, but you need to get into programming using Forscan. Google "forscan disable double honk". Lots of other things you can tweak in there, too.
Nice video . With 60k you want the best outcome for your pickup.
I agree that Ford needs to pay attention to their consumers.
Sure pal. I don't do much as that's a little advanced for me but maybe one day.
Up down up down left right left right XD. Liked for that alone. Good feedback for something you're paying a ton for.
Thanks pal good looking out. I will disable both these in the next week, ha
Thanks pal!
You said it. We spend a lot of time in these vehicles. The little things get old! But still, happy to have it, as I am sure you are about yours, ha
Absolutely love my over priced all the bells and whistles truck.
Lol
To help solve your tow chain issue put a screw pin shackle in the receiver cut outs and hook your chain to the shackles instead. Much easier
Yes sir, horn scares the cap right out of me when I forget...door handles, like em actually.
Companies in the area where you can showcase their trucks and discuss why they love it or hate it!!
F250 and comparable RAM and GM 3/4 ton trucks hold their value surprisingly well. But like any vehicle purchase, buying one that's 3-5 years old eliminates the biggest depreciation hit.
GM for life my man. 2016 sierra 1500. Best purchase ever.
Look up hammerlock couplings for the safety chain hook-up.
On the double honk you should be able to go to settings on your radio screen and turn it off
Nope not an option. You’d think.
#8. Agree. I rented an F 250 last summer to tow our travel trailer. I thought I was doing something wrong trying to hook up those chains.
Gm uses simular holes in there trailer hitch, may have something to do with strength but it's very hard to get any hooks around them.
You can turn this function off. In the vehicle settings screen
Brian - there’s a physical key inside that FAB, that’s why they make it those dimensions.
True
at 2:52 did you time talking about chevy when a red chevy truck was right next to you in the video?
Dunno who that was ha
You can bypass that double honk by leaving your door slightly ajar, as long as you're not going far from the truck. I had the same prob until I found out by accident.
The key fob is that big so that the buttons are big enough so that when you are wearing gloves you can easily press the right one
I guess!
@@BriansLawnMaintenance not to mention the spare key is inside of it. The owners manual is your friend.
You can buy a house in some areas less than you can buy a 3/4 or one ton truck. Personally I like the Keyfob I can hit the correct button with gloves on.

2017 Platinum, super crew, 8' bed, 6" lift, 37s, love it.
Lol. Sorry it was so relatable! Hope Ford see's these comments and can take it as serious feedback from us end users!
You had some valid points! Great video!!
If you have push button start and it’s cranked it just lets you know that the truck is still running while stepping out with the key
that key fob looks a lot better than my dodge one still.
Amen to that
“I’m not the most technical guy, but I understand quantitative easing...” lol eek
That’s not a technical subject. Lol
Brian's Lawn Maintenance Technically, you maybe right. Lol
I have a 2016 f150 and have the same door handle problem and horn problems it's crazy annoying i also added 5/8 stainless steel hooks to fix the chain problem
Man your right on about that door!!!! The two back ones need to be a little shorter.....They just look to big on the truck!!!
The hell lol
Put shackles in chain holes to take care of the tow chain issue which was annoying, the height of the bed compared to a 12 model is like 3 inches taller and can’t get things out as easily and the shifter is directly in front of the dash vent and about melts it when u have the heat on
Very true, I have noticed the hot shifter lol. And yeah I'm 5'10", I can't even reach over the bed rails myself.
I have multiple newer Ford vehicles and I hate the horn sounds as well when I exit the vehicle. I try to keep the door open so it won’t do it or put the key in the cup holder. My F-150 lets me fold on the tow mirrors at any time. Power is never cut. So that is weird.
I have a 2017 F250, I love it. No sunroof/moonroof. I have the Camping Edition package.
Yes, the chain hook ups suck trying to hook something up
The one thing I dislike about my 2017 Superduty is monthly truck payments! It is criminal what they want for trucks these days.
Virginia Refuse Trucks haha very true
The only Trim level that u can’t delete the moon roof is the 2018 Limited. Every other trim it’s an option
I wasn’t able to delete mine. I tried
@@BriansLawnMaintenance
My 17 F350 Lariat doesn't have a moonroof and I wouldn't have one either.
Can you do a video on all the options on your truck and explain why you got them
Tommy Bianco Sure
Thank you
My buddy got a 2017 GMC Sierra Denali with the diesel, moonroof, and LED lighting for 62K out the door.
Nice!
The ebling rear hitch will cure your safety chain holes. ;)
Yep I agree. Haha amen to that
Buy xl and put some nice 1-2k wheels on it.
Can you tell me what exact model and platform...and the packages you got....etc etc you got and what the total cost was? And where you bought from? I live in Des Moines Iowa. I'm looking at Ford F250 Lariats right now.
Yep it’s a 2017 F250 Lariat, we paid just under $60k for it.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance what all did you have added to it? I see you have pushed button start I assume?....plow prep....do you have the trailer back up system with all the cameras and the fancy trailer know? Did you get the Lariat Ultimate pkg or whatever that has everything pretty much?
Love truck talk Tuesday!
I much prefer the clampshell doors Ford does on their supercabs.
Just leave your key in the truck and use the code panel. no honking no problems with door handle.
Would you consider putting a tool box on the truck? Or is the enclosed trailer enough storage for equipment/tools etc?
Great video!
Do a truck talk on how it pulls and how your full economy is when u pull and when u don’t pull
That’s a good topic will do pal
The Konami code lol. I'm glad someone is from my era.
I have the 17 as well, and the only dislike I have is all doors do not open when the driver door opens
Back in my day you could purchase a new truck for $1,999. Now that was a no frills truck but back then there were not many options. Yet it got you around and got the job done.
Rick Anderson lol nice
When was that... 1850?
1922 was a fine year, huh?
Now everyone wants an 80,000$ designer truck to accommodate for a small peepee.i saved up for 2 years to get my f250.i gave my son my 99 f150 lariat great trucks.they were going to give me 500$ trade in
NoHardFelliings x Naw actually it was during the 1970s and 1980s my dads first truck was a Chevy Cheyenne he bought it brand new for 3000 dollars
Oh yeah man I feel ya!
Brian, can I tell you what I think is most annoying? It's really annoying to me all the guys that have brand new 3/4 ton trucks that never tow or haul anything. The boxes have absolutely no tools or equipment in them.
Jeffrey Rogers Yep gotta love them pavement princesses. Blows my mind to even see folks in half tons driving around all day, grocery getters.
Gotta love a 1 ton $70k mall crawler, I love my 2014 f350 6.7 super duty it pulls the hell out of my 12,700lb 5th wheel
Fordsuperduty76 Ahh gotcha. And dang nice work! Congrats pal
Brian's Lawn Maintenance thanks it's actually was my parents business they opened it in the 60s I just inherited it after they passed away but thanks
I paid half of that for a brand new truck similar class. Maybe I should do a truck talk myself. Next year I'll add more content.
Awesome
Everything mention true . I believe I over paid for my 2017 but if you want nice things you gotta spend the $$ . I don't know if you notice but the door handles seems flimsy and tow mirrors vibrate which shakes image while driving . Other then that it's a great truck !! Cheers
Agreed!
My 2017 f250 overheats at idle here in Arizona. I did notice it is not bumping the idle before it alarms high temp
