    ~~~You can come swim with me and Casper! If you want to come join you can book online now, go to www.crocodilechris.com Let me know if you want to go! Observation and photos only at @evergladesoutpost and tour participants are separated from gators by safety fence. Remember all the gators you see me working with are rescue nuisance gators, caught from the wild as big as you see them now! The state kills 7k-8k each year. We volunteer our time to catch & rescue them and bring them to sanctuaries, unpaid. Wetsuit by @cressi1946
    I fell in love with this Gator. These were my first introduction to an Alligator that didn't want to kill and eat people. I just loved watching you and Casper hanging out together. Fast forward a few years and now you're building a new relationship with Big Mac and Bella. I just loved your recent vlog when you were just swimming with them and enjoying your time. Yes! I know! You were also training them. But when Big Mac was just holding your hands with his cute, funny feet, you really got a real kick in that moment 😊. Thankyou for all that you share with us Chris. I know all you "Gator Guys" grew up watching Steve Irwin and I know that he would be really proud of all you've done to show people these are animals are so gorgeous and smart and capable of learning that. You letting people swim with you and Caspar changes one heart❤ at a time. I can't wait to see you doing this with Big Mac!
    Wow that is crazy, it sucks that the pythons have to die and it also sucks that pythons will kill everything in their path. But it's nature. Do you think the whole thing about the python that had 110 eggs they found in Florida? I do know pythons can have quite alot of eggs. I think it's a tie between the gator and the python. Great vlog tonight
    Wow-In the first few seconds, Casper (?) swam up and you kinda nuzzled him, then I noticed his eyes immediately closed in a peaceful way. That speaks volumes for any animal!! For pets, it’s important that they relax, like with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. A nervous or stressed animal is an unhealthy and/or dangerous animal. Unpredictable at best. But the fact he swam up, said “hi”, and closed his eyes and swam on…amazing whatever you’re doing!
    Chris, I love your videos. This one was very educational. Curious, which is larger, the Burmese python or the reticulated python? Is it true that pythons unhinge their jaw and work their body down the prey? I just love watching Casper. He looks so cute floating in his pool with his legs and feet hanging in the water and his toothy grin. He’s so adorable. 🐊
    • @erikm8372
      @erikm8372 Рік тому +2
      I believe reticulated pythons are the world’s second-largest constrictor, after green anacondas. They’re the largest snake in Asia, or in the ‘old world’, so to speak…I’m pretty sure. The Burmese are close behind the retic’s, with some larger individuals maybe even reaching the similar size/ lengths.
      And yes-it’s true about the jaw, for many snakes actually. The majority of snake species actually do swallow food larger than their heads/bodies, all the way from tiny smooth green snakes eating worms to anacondas & pythons eating capybara & deer! African egg-eating snakes are about the size of a garter snake, and they swallow bird eggs whole and spit the shell out after; so yes, the jaw can expand!
    • @Debra.Justice
      @Debra.Justice Рік тому +1
      @@erikm8372 Thanks so much for the information. I’ve seen videos of anaconda grabbing capybara. And also caymans grabbing capybara. Bless their hearts. They have it rough. Our zoological park has a reticulated python. It is massive and has beautiful markings. I don’t have a fear of animals. I respect them and appreciate their power and strength. The only thing I’m terrified of is a wasp. They scare me to death. Everyone thinks I’m crazy because I love dangerous animals but I’m afraid of a small insect. 😂 Have a great evening. Greetings from Tennessee.
      @coloraturaElise Рік тому +1
      The retic is the world's longest, and one of the 3 heaviest. The Burm is usually heavier than the retic, depending on how long each snake is, of course.
      It's not unhinge exactly so much as they just don't have the same hinges? They have stretchy ligaments at the back of their skulls, and their bottom jaws do not have bone in the chin. So their bottom jaws are just v different
    Gotta love the species instead of being afraid of it. Snakes here in Mississippi I'll be honest I don't wanna run into them but this is their land so knowledge of the area is better than killing everything you see. With snakes I'm always told they won't attack if you don't aggravate them. I'm told if you walk up to a snake take 2 steps back then turn around and walk away and you'll be fine.
      Large crocs and gators have to swallow rocks (called gastroliths), scientists believe, perhaps to help with digestion in some manner but also perhaps to help them sink to the bottom of whatever waterways,lakes,ponds,etc they live in.So they must have quite bouyant bods to warrant having to consume rocks,to be able to lower themselves in water!Crazy!🤔😜🤔🤣🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️🐊🐊🐊
    I think this is a very sad situation. As with the brown tree snake, bufo toad, feral cats, lion fish, this is a problem created solely by humans and unfortunately the animals, be it native or invasive are paying the price. We as humans seem to screw everything up. Thank you for what you guys do to help the animals. I do disagree with one thing and it’s not just you, Chris it’s many in the media. People call the extermination of a healthy animal a euthanasia. It’s definitely not a euthanasia based on the dictionary use of the word. I believe the word euthanasia is used because it’s a more sanitary way to call what’s really being done what it really is which is the K word.
