Her expressions when she found out he named it after her is truly amazing. The expression is mixed with hurt, as well as the question why. Also regret and curiosity. And also acknowledgement as to how much he loved her. I don’t think she knows entirely how much though until later on.
Really? Not how I interpreted it at all...
@@twittertwice really? Do tell how you would’ve interpreted it. I am open to every and everyone’s ideas
@@Lilith-Colby Your statement is what the writers intended and I think 90 percent of us agree
i think it’s just a realization that he really loved her that much.
He met Adelaide in the 60s and named the comet (presumably) in 1981. He never stopped wondering about her; love mysteriously vanished. Adelaide had to mask her emotions in order to survive. In this scene the emotions you mention were expressed so fleetingly, subtly, honestly.
This scene is so sad. William can tell that "Jenny" knows perfectly well that Adaline went by Della at one point, and Adaline can see by his face and the name of the comet how much she hurt William when she left. Adaline didn't know that William was about to propose to her when she left, but you can see the guilt in her face that he never really got over her.
All so true.
But actually, I think Adaline did know that William was going to propose to her - she wasn’t completely sure but the scene where it showed William holding the box with the ring, Adaline saw the box in his hands from the taxi, and that’s why she left (as well as the fact that her immortality would have never let her have a happy life with him).
Of course she knew for sure when William revealed he planned to propose to her and that it was indeed a ring he was holding that day.
Yeah, it’s so heartbreaking for both Adaline and William where she realises here that after 40 years, William might have met Kathy and had Ellis and Kiki but he never got over and stopped loving her. Him naming the comet after her said it all.
How fortunate he had an aunt named Della. Whew! lol
When someone touches your heart that deeply and then disappears without a trace... it's tough to move past it. It just fills you with questions, like, what happened to her, why did she leave, was it something I did. If you let it, you will eventually learn to live with it, and perhaps bury it so deep you hardly ever think about it overtime. But for someone who has ever touched your heart, they never truly leave you... at least no from your memory. Unless you have amnesia.
She did know! She saw the ring box in his hand, and she asked the driver to keep driving.
@@ToeTag1968 And, after being told it was named after the aunt, when they are in the garden, she asks him Why did you name your comet after my mother ? It's like she wants to mess with his feelings even more, or, to tell him that she knows more about what happened in that relationship before she was born
What a beautiful moment of pain. It’s such an abstract concept for a movie but soo amazingly relatable.
I wonder if she got the answer wrong to keep her cover going. That boxing match was probably big news about the time of her accident.
Ellis' love can't even compare to William's. I wished that Adaline had ended up with William instead.
Sublime acting from her especially in this scene
So Della came in first... This entire movie is amazingly written!
How is Harrison just sitting there playing this game with her! 😂😂
Geweldige film top 👍 groedjes familie maijers 👍
This really is a great film.
who would've thought both events happened at the same time.
I mean, technically Della showed up first XD
Could be as simple as a Hard Man is Good to Find !
Dime a dozen
This movie has such an interesting premise and unique look at this idea. And they have blake who kills her performance and really breathes life into tbis complex character. And harrison gives one of the few acting performances where he actually tries. But the whole rest of the movie is just meh. The narrator is weird and unnecessary, the male lead has no substance and is just kinda there. Honestly the best moments are between Harrison and blake or blake and her on screen daughter
what do you mean by Harrison ford actually tries.. he is an incredible actor with his languid charm in all his movies.. if you dont understand screen acting please spare us all
Harrison Ford is the male lead 😅
Actually the ans of the last one i knew and it was pretty easy to guess though
What is the name of this game?
Trivial Pursuit
Created by two Canadians in the 1980s I believe. Best seller, hugely successful.
When a Man really loves a woman all the password and keyword will be his girlfriend name ❤
This movie made me so sad. Why would someone as bright and experienced as Adeline end up with a small misogynist boy
what??
HE'S SO PUSHY All their early interactions are major red flags. He ignores every single sign she gives him to back off. She repeatedly tells him she isn't interested. And how does he respond? By blackmailing her into going out with him. He repeatedly runs over her boundaries. It works in the movie especially given her background, but if one of my girlfriends met Ellis I would not expect him to be worth a d@mn.
@@MelDaltonMusic and that's why you and all you girlfriends are single
LMFAO this is the most hilarious comment thread I’ve ever read😂😂😂😂
Right? All those years, all those people she must have met, and this mediocre manipulative manchild is the one she decides is worth sticking around for??
This was a horribly stupid movie
OUT OF ALL THE COMMENTS, UR THE OBLY NEGATIVE HAHAHAHA
good job man ahahha
@@markjade3587 I lost IQ points on that storyline
