Funny enough, I kinda get what he's trying to say about Lucina. Like, she's plain, she's bland, she's good, but she's missing just enough tools to keep the tension intact. If a Lucina ends up against a really good camper, the movement, spacing, and overall decision making she ends up needing to use to get in can be actually pretty lit to watch. Can't believe he really did my boy/girl Robin like that though.

I wish I could just get a playlist of tournaments coney commentated for. I legit choose what tournaments I want to watch based on the commentary being fun and enjoyable and coney is the highest tier of that for me.

I think Robin Def isn’t one of the most annoying characters to FIGHT (even in a similar archetype I’d say ROB or Samus are both more annoying at both zoning and out of shield), but in terms of commentating? I can honestly understand

The thing with all the Zelda intricacies is that they nerfed all of the really cool tools she had in Smash 4 in favor of making her high-risk high-reward specials all incredibly obnoxious and spammable.
As a person who runs production instead of playing, I agree with most of this list especially in terms of watching the characters who players consider toxic. Kazuya, Steve, and Snake have so much creativity available to them. I don't care how overwhelming it is to fight them because I'm laughing the whole way through.
The duality of DK, fun to watch, not fun to main conpetively cause you lose often. Also didn't know Coney was an Inkling fan, super based and such a fun character to play, still wished they brought over the victory theme from s1 or even s2 instead of having that awful remix.

I mean I started doing commentary at locals and I've found it fun to commentate Kazuya since they can be down 0-2 and then because of how explosive the character is since the match is always interesting.

I think her more elegant animations really help her too. Corrin runs like a doofus, Lucina moves with a purpose. Like an actual trained swordsman instead of a child swinging a chainsaw.
I remember playing at a locals for the first time once a few years back. I went against this snake player who was pretty much one of the top players at the locals. Usually snake can only have two grenades but he played him so well, I thought he had like three or four grenades. So many explosions, I had no idea what was going on. Obviously I lost but I wasn't even sure I got a stock off him. I have to say though, going to the local made me feel like I really played my best. Oh yeah, I really wanna play doc to. I think Doctor Mario is more fun to play than regular Mario. Just sad that his recovery is so short. Im happy to see that most of the characters I enjoy playing are fun to watch in you opinion. I guess it means I am doing something right.

As a luigi(and recently exploring alts like pac) I think Luigi shoulda been “cool in top 16” Low level luigis all do the same stuff. Fair-zair, fish for 0-death, spam tornado. Strong luigis do hype stuff like convert to 60% off a stray not-throw hit. Setup interesting kill options. Get crazy reads & of course the misfire SD/instakill/saved from an inescapable off stage situation. Seeing a top player get coined is funny. Mix up how they approach bad matchups. At top level you can definitely tell the style difs between kiyarash, waka, guyguy, luugi & he who must not be named. It also heavily depends on the matchup tho. Watching some of Luigi’s just absolutely awful matchups. Sephiroth, ZSS, Rosalina, & Samus just bring down the whole mood. Watching Luigi beat the hell out of a DK is fun for 1 set but not a 3/5. Luigi & Steve are only characters I’ve heard a commentator go “wait, you can do that?”

Bowser is 100% just stubborn. I'm against a Kazuya on my first stock at 240, he's on his second at 150, he hits me with an f smash and I just armor straight through at 240 against an f smash that kills 200% earlier. I killed him while armoring through.

Kirby or sonic automatically stomp everyone then because of their ridiculous scaling. Archie comics sonic is way beyond multiversal if you want to downplay.

@@dantheman15 Kirby is Universal plus and Archie sonic is multiversal+ or outerversal. Whos stopping that? Bayonetta is logically the best runner up but you can barely put her at universal based on one statement from one of the villains she defeated. Sure, she can summon demons but kirby would literally just eat them for breakfast and Archie Sonic would dogwalk anything she can summon. The scaling just does not compare, the guy moves in less than zero time if he wants. Comics are absurd lol

Every time I fight Rosalina in my Sm4sh all star mode grind (and inevitably lose sometimes because Luma is genuinely broken) I go on a rant about how she shouldn’t even be in the game, like seriously why tf

As a luigi(and recently exploring alts like pac) I think Luigi shoulda been “cool in top 16”
Low level luigis all do the same stuff. Fair-zair, fish for 0-death, spam tornado. Strong luigis do hype stuff like convert to 60% off a stray not-throw hit. Setup interesting kill options. Get crazy reads & of course the misfire SD/instakill/saved from an inescapable off stage situation. Seeing a top player get coined is funny. Mix up how they approach bad matchups. At top level you can definitely tell the style difs between kiyarash, waka, guyguy, luugi & he who must not be named.
It also heavily depends on the matchup tho. Watching some of Luigi’s just absolutely awful matchups. Sephiroth, ZSS, Rosalina, & Samus just bring down the whole mood. Watching Luigi beat the hell out of a DK is fun for 1 set but not a 3/5.
Luigi & Steve are only characters I’ve heard a commentator go “wait, you can do that?”
Just don’t get grabbed.

Bowser is 100% just stubborn. I'm against a Kazuya on my first stock at 240, he's on his second at 150, he hits me with an f smash and I just armor straight through at 240 against an f smash that kills 200% earlier. I killed him while armoring through.
