My parents just moved onto a liveaboard boat last month. While visiting them for the first time, I saw the cutest little sailboat docked a few slips over at their marina. In investigating what this little boat was, I discovered the world of "dinghy cruising" and came here to UA-cam... Well lo and behold, first video I click on is a boat that looks just like the one I saw next to my parents' boat at West Bay in Olympia, and there you go sailing out of that same marina 🤯

Just when I was wondering if my WWP 15 is big enough YT leads me here. Absolutely awesome. Thanks for putting this up!!

Hey bud, get a bucket/basket to keep your anchor and rode in the cockpit. You can also deploy from there.

Very relaxing to watch, excellent balance of music & voice. No jarring sounds, while listening on headphones. Thanks for posting.

I'm a travelnurse in Florida but have a WWP15 at my place in Port Orchard. My partner and I were planning to sail from Belfair (found a little spot on the Union River to launch but might need 4x4 to get the trailer out) to Allyn. 6 miles by road, 125 by water.
Unfortunately she had a massive stroke and didn't make it. My contract was canceled while I sat with her after she was taken off life support then I headed back to Florida to lick my wounds and load a trailer since I'm moving up one assignment at a time.
Hope to make this trip once I get back there

Awesome footage. I've sailed out of budd inlet many times in our Macgregor 26x motor sailer. I've never solo sailed it though. Your content is inspiring me to do just that. We're doing a 2 week trip in June (San Juan's and Victoria). Maybe I'll send my wife home from Olympia afterword and solo up to Seattle.

That’s awesome! I definitely recommend it it’s really peaceful and you can really do some good self reflection out there alone. That sounds like fun, I’m planning on heading that way in my big sail boat around then too so maybe we’ll see each other. My boats got two dolphins on the bow you can’t miss it.

Very cool. As a dude with zero sailing experience I’ve recently become pretty interested in it. And living in Olympia this looks like the type of sailing I’d want to be doing for sure. Great content man.

Hi there. I sail a similar 14ft boat with swing steel centreboard.
It looked like your sails were a bit full in that strong wind at the end. If you trim the sails flatter you may find that you will heal less and go faster. But reefing points would help too 😉

That’s awesome, sounds like a blast! Definitely, thanks for pointing that out, I don’t really have a lot to work with on that little boat to flatten out the main unfortunately, I don’t have any way to tighten my boom vang right now, but I’m sure that would help too, keeping my main tight.

That was awesome mate. I do the same type of sail camping trips in my little trimaran. Always on the lookout for people doing the same on youtube. So much fun. Your little boat looks to be a fantastic platform and you are creating some real nice content. Keep it coming because I thoroughly enjoyed it.
    Cheers from Australia.

First one of your videos I have seen, you need to invest in a dead cat for your microphone, the rumbling noise makes it incredibly difficult to watch.
That being said looks like you are off to a great start. A lot of people talk about going sailing, you're actually doing it.

What a nice journey/adventure in your beautiful area.
The wide angle views are spectacular. How do you manage to remove the pole from the image?

    • @throttleocean1586
      @throttleocean1586  3 місяці тому +2

Thank you so much. So it’s a insta 360 camera and it actually automatically removes the pole while shooting the footage believe it or not. I’m still getting use to using it. That was my first video with it. it’s a crazy piece of technology.

Wonderful. But it would be better without the wide angle lens which distorts everything. Personally I rather see less in the frame and have it undistorted. Otherwise, really nice.
