Visited many towns in the Salento region just last week. We loved Casarano very much, a few other favorites were Galatone, Soleto and Corgliano d'Otranto. Warm and friendly people in every town we visited!

Will admit I’d not heard of Casarano. The floor tiles in that abandoned property are great and a treat it was to learn about the ancient oil press. A splendid vista from that elevated area.

I haven’t been able to get any history of our town of Ugento (only a 15 minute drive from there) as everything in their library is in Italian 😂but would love to know more about its history and buildings too. Towns in salento are all very clean and with a fantastic amount of charm, casarano happens to be larger than the average town in the area. I may show a few things later 🙏

Great job, Davide! However, I noticed the absence of the city's crown jewels: the paleochristian church of Casaranello, renowned for its beautiful mosaics, as well as the Greek necropolis, which provides evidence of a potentially older settlement predating the Roman one.
Mamma Mia, so much there, an incredible amount of extraordinary history! I still believe that Salento has the largest heritage of historic elements in Italy 🇮🇹
