  • It took five years for Ron to convert his bus. With many ups and downs, for example breaking down the engine that needed complete restoration, he accomplished his dream and built a gorgeous tiny home on wheels. As Ron is too shy to be on camera, in this episode his wife Byrke is giving us a tour of the bus and Ron will provide more technical information in the background.

    The people spending millions on RVs have a lot to learn from you guys. Your bus is amazing. I personally would love an oven, but you have counter space so a convection/microwave oven or convection/food dehydrator would easily work. I have a bad back. I'd need a much better mattress, but that's my choice. I LOVE the tub. As I get older and my arthritis gets worse, that tub looks suitable for me or anyone. It's perfect. I'm glad you bought that bus and did what you did. No scrap yard. And even if you decided to have a single family home elsewhere, you have an excellent way to vacation, and your accommodations are not only paid for, but you know who was sleeping in there. Excellent job!!!!

    • @Onrust1
      @Onrust1 Рік тому +7

      Thank you. About the mattress: I deliberately bought me exactly the same as we have at home, so no difference there - even the size is the same.. 😊

    My name is Gregor and I live in Łeba/Poland.
    I'm a fan of your RV videos on you tube :) and started building a similar Neoplan N122/3 for me and my wife.
    I was inspired by a few solutions you used in your project. I have a lot of my new ideas that have already been implemented, I hope that the first trip will take place in September 2023.

    Great conversion !
    Smart decision to take a double decker which doubles the total living space🤠
    Question: is it legal to drive it with a C drivers licence? This bus has 11 seats ( incl driver) and for that you should hold a D license if I'm correct.
    Next challenge is to find a camp ground that accepts such a lengthy RV.
    In Europe that is... I've seen even bigger RV's in the US but that is no surprise to me since almost every thing is bigger over there.
    Long story short: I wish you many nice and safe journeys!

    🤷🏼‍♀️ to me this is a giant closet in a hallway! You would think with something this size you would try to make it look more like a home! This is like you just got a lot of giant cabinets and ugly counter with cooking and dishwasher stove applances stack on top of each other and refigerator! With such a big home on wheels why is the inside so narrow of walking space?! Your cabinets protrudes too far out into your walking space your kitchen lay out is too sterile it does not have the warmth or the room of a friendly modern traditional kitchen. You did not take time to actually make it look like a livable home! It just look like what it is on the inside as far as the beginning entrance,to the airline looking chairs in a charter bus.To call that a living room is wrong! 🤷🏼‍♀️

    hello, great car 😍. Well laid out, lots of storage, quite spacious. the Dutch are lucky, their country is much more restrictive than France on motorhomes and other leisure vehicles… One thing wonders me, why not simply replace the black and compost water toilets with an incineration toilet? ? its maintenance is minimal and the ashtray to be emptied is tiny. for gray water, a degreasing tank is sufficient. Beautiful achievement.

    • @Onrust1
      @Onrust1 Рік тому +1

      The main reason was that an incineration toilet is very, very expensive. Another is that it takes quite some energy, that is not unlimited aboard a vehicle. No, I looked into composting toilets, and wanted to fit one of those, but my wife couldn't get over the thought that there would be poop in the toilet all the time. I still think a composting toilet would be a good option.
