At about 28 - 30 years old, I repeatedly ran into Pat Boone, intensely playing 3 on 3 halfcourt basketball at an indoor facility in Century City, Los Angeles (maybe full court, don't recall). Based on date estimates, he must have been in his (early) 50s then. He was ther to PLAY and was not joking. I remember being surprised at how good he was. He had a pretty decent game. He loved to hoop it up and was not scared to go inside with the ball, and he had a jump shot. (He had a little Gale Goodrich in him.) Bumped into him in the steam room too. We didn't talk much at all, just hooped it up, like hoopsters do and he was a real, genuine guy. God blessed him with a wonderful, fruitful life.
