By the grace of Derek Yu I have been able to play a little (and I do mean a little!) Spelunky 2 before release. I wanted to make sure I captured my reactions to my first runs including the opening cutscene. I can't wait to experience all the new mysteries in the game but first, let's just try to make it out of the mines!

What's funny is his confusion as to what to do with the turkeys he later finds and then continues with that confusion after finding the guy. NL never change.
Ok people lets put our best, NL will realize that he has to take and deliver the turkeys on the level to the turkey guy, after episode 50, 100, 200, or 500+?

I've been thinking of going back and rewatching the first Rebirth episodes. It's great watching you beginning a whole new sequel to a game you adore. It's like a trembling excitement. I can already tell Spelunky 2 is going to be no different, seeing you navigate the new mysteries and slowly conquer the game all over again!
Plus, Spelunky 2 and the upcoming birth of your first child! The levels of raw, pure pog are explosive right now!

Turkeys are so good that taming and holding onto them as a mount for as long as possible will probably be important for running this game in any format. It was so funny how NL killed every one he saw in his first run but at least he got to experience a mount for a moment near the end.

While looking at some of the prerelease stills, I was a bit worried that the background textures looking a bit flatter was going to detract and make the game feel cheaper, but it really doesn't because the detail in the moving elements more than makes up for it.

This video inspired me to check out your spelunky one videos and I’m having a blast. From what little I’ve seen; the ghost is definitely the creepiest thing in 1 and they definitely ramped it up in two with the two little smiling ghosts.

Currently paused at 0:01, and I’m arguing with myself over whether to continue or not. Part of me wants to watch it, because I’ve loved spelunky for so long. The other part of me knows that I went into the first spelunky knowing every secret of the game, and I can’t help but wonder if maybe that impacted my enjoyment.

Knew almost everything about two before I even did my first run just as with the first one. Actually would have liked to go blind but my curiosity did not allow it any other way.

This brings me right back to when Rebirth was first released 6 years back. Watching NL cover it as I excited awaited the games release. Always feels good to share in the joy of discovery from a beloved game franchise.
The amount of joy the first game has brought me from the first time i beat olmec to the first time i beat yamma now i get to experience a whole new gameplay after years of playing spelunky

I love it. My favorite thing to come out of your S2 streams is the permanent relabeling of my Xbox 'bleh' button to hamburger. I will never understand the need to relabel buttons that we universally recognize just to attempt to be unique.
I can't watch this for my own interest in keeping the game a mystery but I can hit the like and be tangentially pogged.

Yo Ryan i've been playing spelunky 2 for like an hour now (in Australia) and there is no need to be embarrassed by your progress, it's definitely gonna take time to get used to the differences, and the first area is for sure more difficult than in the first

The last 5 minutes of this episode was peak entertainment. Enjoy your time with the baby, you only have your first baby once. I hope I can speak for everyone when I say don't worry about your upload schedule. I've got a bit of a backlog of content to fall back on.
