- Phew, finally! It took some time, I'm a bit late. But it's here.
After this meme came out in video format I was determined to make a good video, always related to Ace Attorney.
The cool thing of this video is I drew both Ryuunosuke and Susato!
It's the first time I drew her in normal form.
Her design is so simple but at the same time intricate, I really like it.
I decided to upload these pictures for whoever is interested.

One last thing: Please avoid any DGS spoilers. I made the video, yes, but it's somewhat spoiler-free, and I'm waiting for the fantranslation.

I still say they could release this game internationally. They could just say Phoenix’s ancestors came from Japan and eventually moved to America. BOOM! Setting is left intact AND the localization is left unaltered.
Samuel Johnson Totally agreed. There is no need to “localize” Ryuunosuke into something else. Also because it’s unreal, he’s clearly Japanese, they can’t hide it. Plus, DGS is technically already localized with the names. There are so many characters from so many countries, wouldn’t make sense if they change names like in PLVSAA (In that case they could because the country, Labirinthia, is invented).

P2M This is an additional motive to keep the characters with their names and countries.
Why would they change the country when it’s too obvious they come from Japan? Or England? Or Russia?
Also, don’t forget that, if racism is *really* the problem, then they can just censure those words with something else, like the majority of the games ported from Japan. They already did it with Ace Attorney, like the famous quote from Hotti about Pearl. In Japan he looks like a real pedophile, in western he’s a generic pervert.
About the Sherlock’s issue, it’s a matter only America has, and it’s something already solved.
The motive we don’t have Dai Gyakuten Saiban here isn’t because they can’t, but because they don’t want. They have enough money to port it here, physically and with multi languages, and they can always ask to Nintendo to make a contract to do almost everything else. Nintendo of Europe has a big studios related to localization, and they did in fact localized in 5 languages the trilogy and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

But they don’t want because they’re probably afraid the game won’t sell well because of what happened with Ace Attorney Investigations 1, a spin-off without any commercials except for a trailer and an article in a random magazine, and only in English.
Capcom basically don’t trust the fanbase, and don’t even try to. I’m not going to complain this choice anymore, but it’s a big shame since we’re all Ace Attorney fans and we’re all asking for a fresh, new Ace Attorney game, and Dai Gyakuten Saiban fits with this role.
P2M Even so, this doesn’t make any sense, because this “racism” towards Japaneses should get upset the modern Japanese audience, not the western Audience. Does we actually care an English prosecutor calls the main character “Japanese Boy”? Do we actually feel insulted in the game, us non-Japanese players?

Like I’m Italian and I wouldn’t be surprised to find an Italian character swearing against Austro-Hungarians.
It’s the Italian of the past, not the modern Italian.

Its not happening. Mother 3 is basically unlocalizeable because of the Magypsies. Since the game came out Gyp** has been officially recognized as a racial slur against the Romani people, and even if they changed the name, in an attempt to represent them as agender the game accidentally (giving the full benefit of the doubt) made the Magypsies a very harmful stereotype of Trans Women (hyper masculine features down to having beards, while dressing and acting feminine)
@@Win090949 Honestly, this ain't the fault of Capcom. The game is very racially-charged since that's one of the focal points of the game and the setting depicts both an era and place where this issue is particularly commonplace. Then there's House Doyle being a prick as usual with the Sherlock Holmes copyright. I deal with the same thing, albeit way more lax than DGS, and it is quite a doozey to skirt around it.
Timing is of the essence for a localized release. Not to mention that despite the changing values of japanese game devs, they are still quite conservative and would prefer not to create any form of friction outside of their locality. Likely the biggest reason why DGS got localized is due to the Switch's popularity, the high sales of DD, SoJ, and the original trilogy's re-release, and the overwhelming demand outside of Japan (Capcom nowadays is very aware of its fanbase to the point of actively participating in their tomfoolery).
Glad you finally made a proper hand drawn animated cartoon. That will make capcom localize dgs and it'll save video games.

Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve does feel like a perfect game. Adventures, however, has too many cliffhangers. It works better as 1 whole game in the Chronicles duology
