- This limited series takes place during the night that Notre-Dame burned. It’s about the destiny of men and women who have their own fire to put out. As the Paris firefighters try to stop the flames from spreading in the Cathedral, the show also follows characters being put through the wringer - they will have to fight each other, love each other, come across each other, hate each other, smile at or help each other - so that, in the end, they may have a chance to start all over again.

If they did a documentary, they'd be forced to tell the truth - that antitheist terrorists burned it down. With a dramatized series, they can fudge the truth as much as they want.
Just like the crown, Netflix knows how to combine fiction with reality, which intensifies the emotions . Similar to Chernobyl HBO miniseries. A documentary may seem more distant.

Notre dame burning is a historical sucess in modern history or at least to new generations is it was very powerfully and moving watch it burn while firefighters had the responsibility to save it for a massive historical destruction

I didn't think the Notre-Dame burning incident was even enough for like 45 minute documentary let alone enough to spawn a drama mini series. It didn't feel that dramatic, it caught fire, it got put out, they found the cause and hopefully it's prevented from happening again, The End.

It was very interesting to see through the eyes of the fire department which is normally not possible in that way with a documentary. But it would be great to have an additional documentary, i agree with that.

Can’t believe this has turned into a series now! I remember we were up there the day before and got home the next day to only find out the roof has been brunt down. Really glad we get to be one of the few to enjoy it before it’s gone forever.

I had the opportunity to visit Notre Dame four months before the fire. Still remember the day like it was yesterday.
This is going to be a series? It makes more sense as a documentary.
It's not truly about the fire. It's just a cheesy soap opera set during a profound day of historic cultural and spiritual tragedy. The woman playing Varese' is great. Other than that, it seems rather manipulative.
@@greentara291 I watched it. It's definitely more of a drama series. There was only one subplot relating to the fire, which was Alice dealing with the trauma of losing her boyfriend in a fire. The whole thing with Max and Billy wasn't related to the fire at all, and they even threw in a love triangle with the reporter! Wish we got more focus on the fire and less on the drama.

Its not a full blown tv series its a limited series so its not going to have season 1-10

It means it's finished as that season, no follow up. It's basically a self contained series. Usually has like at 4 eps or 6..could be 8 or 10 too depends.

The fact that I don't have face recognition working against the actors in the story and how French dialogue seems to roll of the tongue so effortlessly to match the climactic pacing, this looks very appealing to my senses.

The Bells Of Notre Dame has been burn by Hellfire, and yeah because I loved Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.
Just a reminder that at the same time the Amazon was burning too, but no one cared. Yet, we're getting this dramatized story about an old building catching fire that has no significance to our existence.

I enjoyed the series even though some of the plots were over the top don’t understand why they let a journalist in the a burning building with out a helmet or a breathing mask probably best if they made another series of this and not call it nostre dame

As a French, I can't stop laughing, this is so over dramatic LMAO. Most French people didn't give a f*ck lol. It's true that it's a historical site but people had better things to do or worry about. Most French people were actually really mad because of how quickly they got funds to renovate this building while people are starving, unemployed and homeless. In just few days after the incident, they were able to collect almost a billion in donation for that building while at the same time claiming there's no money for the people . I didn't even know about this show, it wasn't promoted at all in Netflix France, wonder why..... Anyway, I have to go check the comments under the trailer in the Netflix France channel, they must be so funny

As a voluntary firefighter this series is a catastrophe since the beginning.
I've watched the 1st episode and I don't wanna watch it through.
Even in the first 10 minutes my jaw dropped 1000 times because of the bad cinematic and factual mistakes this series made.
It's overdramatic and the most of the time veryyyyy wrong if you consider the approach of the film FB.
In reality you take care of your team at any costs. You don't take high risks to your team to safe a freaking building.
