@@Dark_SeraphYou dont need to disconnect them unless you are actually going to replace those individual pieces. I clean the fans by removing the airflow pipes. There are a lot of screws so go slow on removing the ones with springs and slowly peel the black platform up. Should be very easy to lift up. If its not you need unscrew then springs more. You can easily access the fan “gutters” this way without removing the fan turbines. If you do need to remove them just pull the while piece up ⬆️
This video is so simple that it actually made me clean my laptop myself instead of going to some repair station. Before the cleaning i had 95-104 on CPU on turbo boost. 85-89 without turbo on CPU. After cleaning the fans (there was a lot of dust) and changing the thermal pad to honeywell 7950 ptm i have 65-72 degrees on my CPU in the same game! Thats crazy. GPU temperatures went down from 89 max to 76 max It was after 26 months from buying the new laptop. The difference was that i had smaller SSD drive that i didnt need to unscrew to remove the battery which was nice. Too bad in order to remove the touchpad you need to remove the motherboard - that design i dont like ( last screw is under the motherboard).

thing is, you cannot remove the fans without removing the entire heat sink, because even if you remove the little screws on top of the fans, it will be blocked between the sink and the bottom part of the laptop. so yeah a repaste would be necessary and honestly even recommended if you never did it before, since the factory one really sucks ass. i did it with fresh paste, the fans used to blow like crazy when i was playing games now they're quiet as they should be. i also recommend spreading the thermal paste using some little tool, like those little shovels you use to eat ice cream for example. try to make the layer as thin as possible and cover everything. this way you will know that the entire surface of cpu/gpu is covered and also there is no excess as excessive thermal paste can spill over and act as insulator retaining more heat around the processor. other methods like pea size dot or X cannot guarantee this.

I’m trying to replace my network adapter card with an intel 6e, but the screw holding it to the motherboard feels like it’s been applied with a torque wrench and a pound of loctite. Anyone else have this issue or any suggestions for getting it loosened?
11:57. Okay so opening this will be hard. I had to use a surgical steel object which is very precise to open up the cover. The cover is hard to pull up. It's like they made it so it's hard to open. The components of the laptop are very tightly placed on the PCB. So there's a high chance you can short-circuit something if you do touch it with something made of iron. Opening the battery is the most difficult. It must be done before opening that ssd! So in order to open it you'd have to touch some other component w your finger by accident and pull with some force just like he did... It is a pain. Do not use anything made from iron or steel or anything for this. When you open the support of the hard disk make sure you notice the teeth with no opening in them. These need to be opened so the support can be opened too
i was planning to properly clean my keyboard for this model , so i've got to that point where i removed system board, but still it isnt that easy as "sliding out" the keyboard. i removed those 6 screws you said , it won't budge. the keyboard itself is basically one with the upper part of the laptop frame(the part on which you rest your arm when you type), thanks to those plastic nits. so yeah i tried what you said, it won't budge for me. maybe i am doing something wrong. ive read somewhere else that is not worth replacing only the keyboard itself because it will never reattach properly so in reality its better to get the entire upper frame with the keyboard and pad as well as one unit
Did this myself just now, broke all the clips on the plastic frame cause it didn't budge , so I basically have to buy a new frame with new plastic clips for the new keyboard to fit in and stay in there? Isn't it right my dude?
@@GamingDog20 i didn't go that far so honestly i don't know how bad it looks. maybe you can screw inside those clips some small screws to tighten it a lil bit but again dunno. back then i had the intuition to not go further so i stopped at that part. been using external keyboard mostly when i am at my desk. keeps laptop's keyboard in good condition for longer and is more comfortable to type from a mechanical keyboard when at the desk for me.
@@Jackieception the thing is that it's basically a scam from the factory to make the keyboards like this, because I personally thought I broke something off the bad keyboard, because it was literally impossible to not break it. Then I realized that the palm rest small plastic things broke off and the keyboard doesn't sit in nicely, and there are literally no holes there to screw, it's just pieces that broke off and are now gone lol... Even if I buy a new palm rest to make the keyboard not move, I don't understand how it'll work since it ain't regular screws...

Nice video, i have problem with my keyboard and I already tried to fix it by software approach but none of them are worked. I think it might be correlated to hardware issue and maybe you have an idea about this. I also found that sometimes my keyboard works fine. Also my cpu degree is not good. Any thought about this? thanks

I even tried a new power cord along with different outlets and it’s still not powering on. The machine show no sign of getting power.

@@UbergeeksBiz it surely depends upon the user and the preference but for most things its suitable. i just added more storage , of course there is always better hardware but the question is whats the point of always wanting to be better or having something better? I’m trying to replace my network adapter card with an intel 6e, but the screw holding it to the motherboard feels like it’s been applied with a torque wrench and a pound of loctite. Anyone else have this issue or any suggestions for getting it loosened?

These need to be opened so the support can be opened too
You are welcome. Glad the video helped.
Do i need to remove the battery first if i only want to clean / disassemble the fan & heatsink?
Yes, you should
Yes. you should remove the battery, I have seen a few cases of circuit failure due to not removing the battery
i was planning to properly clean my keyboard for this model , so i've got to that point where i removed system board, but still it isnt that easy as "sliding out" the keyboard. i removed those 6 screws you said , it won't budge. the keyboard itself is basically one with the upper part of the laptop frame(the part on which you rest your arm when you type), thanks to those plastic nits. so yeah i tried what you said, it won't budge for me. maybe i am doing something wrong. ive read somewhere else that is not worth replacing only the keyboard itself because it will never reattach properly so in reality its better to get the entire upper frame with the keyboard and pad as well as one unit
Man i was able to get the heat sync off but im having issues getting the EDP (LCD) cable out. Even after taking the screen off, I can't pull it through the slot it's in. Thoughts?
NM. Thankfully, all I had to do was take the hinges off and the screws holding the top rear of the laptop off. Scariest job I've ever done. I owe my success to you bro. No way I could've done it without your video!
You are welcome. Glad the video helped.
Bro please help, how to disconnect fans from motherboard Lenovo legion 5 pro I was trying by just simply pulling it out but its impossible my nails are completly destroyed already :(((
did you ever figure out and were you able to do it? I am having the same trouble.
hey man, i don't know if u still respond to the comments here but ill just try anyway , i have similar laptop 15ch6h, rtx 3060 and i'm getting code 43 but when the gpu is active ill get driver power state failure, i wanted to ask if it's possible that some cable is loose that connects to feed the gpu power, i had artifacts on whole screen last week and i updated my bios and they seem to have gone away but my rtx gpu has code 43 and only my amd processor gpu is working now is there any way to save this laptop ? ill share more info if u need any. thanks for ur time
Do you think it is a decent price for this notebook with i7 and gtx 1650 ?
Awesome video 👍🏻👍🏻
What is the Replacement number of Fan..

hn?
Yes you can, just buy L19M4PC1 or L19C4PC1 and replace it. Though it will take the place of the SSD.
The middle 3 screws long or short?
Hi, I'm writing from Google translator, please tell me, I filled my keyboard on this lenovo legion 5 17IMH05 laptop, what should I do? Will I be able to unscrew the screws and just remove the dirt from the keyboard and put it in place, or do I need to change the entire bottom of the laptop? I will be very grateful if you answer
Entire bottom

Nice video, i have problem with my keyboard and I already tried to fix it by software approach but none of them are worked. I think it might be correlated to hardware issue and maybe you have an idea about this. So my keys are not working, but if I combine it with FN key they work well, for example: if I press "Q" its not works, but if I press FN + Q its works. I also found that sometimes my keyboard works fine. Also my cpu degree is not good. Any thought about this? thanks
I have kinda similar problem but with left CTRL. Though I haven’t tried fn+ ctrl
Make sure you remove the fan headers from mobo before blowing it with canned air so they won't create reverse current and destroy something.
one more question, would you put a 140hz LCD instead of 120hz ?
I got the answer in your other video thank you
I’m glad my other video helped
My laptop won’t turn on. It was working great I went on vacation and when I got home I noticed that something was rattling inside. I tried turning it on but nothing happened. I plugged it up and tried again and still nothing. I open the back cover to see what was rattling and it was a small shinny silver screw.
I even tried a new power cord along with different outlets and it’s still not powering on. The machine show no sign of getting power.
sounds like something shorted because of the screw connecting power between things that werent meant to connect.
hei can u help me?,i can't turn on my laptop right now pls help me
Hello very good video! very useful. I have a question, I see that the processor has a bga connection, in the event that it is damaged, do I have to replace the entire board? Is this board for sale?
Some water spilled on my Lenovo, not a lot but do you think that plastic on the keyboard protects the motherboard
I hope it does.
Its ok to disconnect the gpu fan for a while?? Because its super noisy.. 😅
Do it and you'd burn the gpu
😅can I body convert my Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05H/ 81Y6 to lenovo series 7?
What?
Gonna try a repaste soon 😊
Great video! I always use it to open my laptop when I need to clean it. I'm just wondering if you know the thermal pads thickness of this model, I'm thinking about buying new ones, maybe better ones, but I'm afraid to get the wrong thickness and get worse results.
Kinda late but mine is a 15IMH05 and has 1.0mm pads.
@@cristiansosa1512 Thanks mate!
The only thing to say that I cleaned the laptop today is don't mess with the damn screws, one of them was almost punctured because of it, it was only left with screw swelling, lenovo makes it solid, thank God, the case
you can change the processor to a better one?
You can't change cpu nor gpu
Only ram and memory
Do u have to redo thermal paste after removing heat sink?
Best is to change it out. but I just reused the old ones
Have you ever realized which magnificent piece of hardware this is?
This Lenovo ? Meh…
@@UbergeeksBiz it surely depends upon the user and the preference but for most things its suitable. i just added more storage , of course there is always better hardware but the question is whats the point of always wanting to be better or having something better? Maybe just be happy with what you get. of course theres 32 cores and 24gb of vram with 6k display laptops but you know. i go rather outside, working or cruising with my bicycle. thats an 16k movie enough for me.
@@ld7943You have a point. Technology always advance and newer upgrade. Sometimes just have to be happy and enjoy the current moment of what we have. Thank you.
mine has a bigger battery and now space for the larger SSD

nice video. How long did it take that laptop to get so much dirt?
lol.... i'm guessing 2 years
