Whether you're expecting the weather or not always have chains, diesel additive, a shovel, extra blankets, extra food, gloves and a good pair of boots.
I had a similar experience a few weeks ago in Montana. Two days straight of snow packed roads with no plows anywhere. Tire chains went on three separate times, and it all ended with frozen air lines and empty airbags in Jackson Wyoming. Cancelled our last load to go straight home with no suspension. Finally got things thawed out in the shop at home. It really put me on the fence about my air ride trailer… but when it’s good it’s really good.
It’s no wonder how our shipping industry is in such bad shape after you hear about what drivers do just to deliver something that keeps us all fed warm/cool and happy. It’s just a mess. Stay safe out there and thank you for what you do to keep us all happy.
Just leased on today, first load was only 40 miles deadhead from Eau Claire, Wisconsin..And yes it started snowing as soon as I hit I94. Getting $2.63 a mile -25% to eastern Pennsylvania. I worked in -45 C outside Ironworking in Canada, looks warm in Kansas! Lol. Stay safe Macc
Drove logging truck in Northern canada for years. Sometimes we dont shut trucks off for weeks. Always carry airline antifreeze and sometimes need to put in at the compressor to push through and thaw. Works for locks too. Its methylhydrate with brake fluid basically for lubrication.
Whenever I know I'm about to hit freezing weather esp with snow/ice, I ALWAYS leave my tool box unlocked because you will be shit out of luck once it freezes over. I learned that the hard way!
Sorry bout your loss Macc. Stay warm out there looks like I may be getting truck back Friday. I'm so ready to get back out there cold or not. I enjoy the road
In our minds we always have good intentions, but we tend to postpone the action of the Intent. I have learned the hard way as well. Family and loved ones is my reason for doing this so I put them first when possible so I don't have another regret.
My condolences bro of your family member sorry to hear about that I'm that cold blast was super dangerous caught some ppl off guard that didn't have a chance to check the forecast that four days that the storm was around i stayed inside the whole time I'm glad you and mrs macc made it out there safely I'm when it's super dangerous cold close and below 0 with the wind leave your airbags full instead of dumping out your Air and same with semi truck trailer in that type of weather they don't dump out trailer brakes air because they will freeze up thanks for the video and you and Mrs Macc be safe out there 👍🚛

God bless ❤ that storm was nasty!!! I picked up in Sandusky Ohio a few hrs before it got bad and ran out of time in Youngstown. Fueled up and unplugged the eld and drove another 10 hrs to central ma. Got home at 5 am Friday morning, delivered to Logan airport (Boston) Saturday morning at 6 then back home, dropped my trailer. Celebrated Christmas the next day then flew to Cancun and just got back today 😂😂
I’m not sure if you know about the deicer in a can. Works great for thawing out locks. Come in a can you can find it at truck stops or parts stores and I’m sure even on line. Just for future reference. Enjoy the videos and info!
This is one of the few channels that I truly enjoy watching none of that click bait, none of that posting swift, accidents and deaths in the industry just to get viewers 👀 A hard working couple doing their thing salute king blessing to you, your lady and much success Bless Up🤞🏾🖤
Your not kidding. This guys seems real. Not all that click n bait shit. One thing I can’t stand is when hot shot guys look at other hot shots and they make a video of why or what they think went wrong. Why do it. Just let them do what they do. Who cares if they make mistakes. You don’t make a video about them. Unless you guys come to an agreement.
Winter trucking is so hard on equipment. Last winter with a brand new 2022 pj trailer. The sand and salt on the roads beat up the trailer and even sandblasted the paint right off. Dirt roads to labrador you name it. Winter is dread for a dread. Lol hp haulers
That’s why I don’t even mess with the cold/snow. Even if they’re paying better, not worth it. Hate then cold. Plus salt, doing all that in the cold, etc. No thanks fam.
Macc, that dispatcher tho!😂 Glad y’all made it outta there. That winter storm was no joke, it shook the whole US. I gotta say man, I’m diggin that new trailer my guy. Real tuff 💪🏼
Condolences to you and your family Tim. I was born and raised in Houston and I too hate the extreme cold temps. Still ;ive just outside Houston. I recently retired from Houston PD and have gotten into RV transport, but looking to hotshot possibly to cut the number of dead head miles. When you have to drive to Indiana just to start making money it becomes costly and cuts into profit. Hope you guys had a great holiday season..
Appreciate you Allen and thanks for your service. Yeah I know a few ppl in the RV lane and just don’t know how the deadhead miles makes sense but it’s definitely a lane to start in.

Do you Dump your air tanks at the end of each day? Super important when you're in humid places. I bet that humidity got all water in your air system and then it froze solid when you were having a bad time in Arctic hell. Glad you made it safe brother! I saw the carnage from that storm after when I was headed east through Kansas. Saw at least 10 totalled semis and axles just sitting on the side of road from trucks.
I don’t usually dump my tanks I just cut off the switch when it sits then bleed the tank when I’m back at it. But good point I might do that. And yeah we saw about 10 trucks on the side of the road spun out 🙏🏽 that storm was wild!
Perhaps you are not acustom to extreme cold weather. Always carry chains and a way to spray the door locks to prevent them from freezing. On another note, I saw a cup holder you were using with your tablet what brand it is. I hope you read this and let me know.
I’m definitely not accustom to those types of temperatures at all. Think that was my first time feeling what -31 feels like. But definitely gotta get those things on deck just in case. And the iPad holder is called the “Macally Cup Holder Tablet Mount” You can find it in my store of essential trucking items on amazon. I have the link in my description 👌🏽 Thanks for tuning in 🫡💯
Hey bro, man on this run I was barely able to until I got back down south and had my dealership heat everything up. The trailer was prepared for freezing temps at the time.
