Porcelain Kindred makes me want to see more skins that take humanoid characters and turns them into monsters, like how Praetorian Graves is just a full one robot, not a cyborg

Then somehow Mordekaiser becomes the best of the bunch, and Shen is just as good.
I just hate that there logic is “people didn’t like Ashen knight pantheon? Just Change the name” but then they’re like “oh they didn’t like ocean song seraphine or coven Syndra? We’ll change those skins completely.”
Every time i see Ashen Knight Pantheon I am just filled with, sadness. For what could have been the greatest skin Pantheon could ever receive

God I was praying for "Dark Souls Pantheon" when they were announcing Ashen knight Pantheon cuz the design would make so much sense. Give my Spartan a nice cool shield, a nc spear, and an armor that would stand out in the skin line.

Coven Nami is one of the most disappointing legendary of 2023 IMO for that exact reason. They made her into a sea witch but then gave her human skin tone and pink hair. Just ruins the look they were going for completely. With the look they gave her she just looks like a mentally ill weirdo "I'm not like other girls". Because she looks like a regular human who colored their hair pink. They did my babe Nami dirty!
I would argue on Soraka though. The "Divine Soraka" Skin represented what Soraka used to look like. Before her lore change, she WAS a human who used her powers to stop Warwick when he was still a human, and a powerful Zaun mercenary who loved Chemical warfare and such. (Remember OLD LORE)
So, don't be too put-off by Human Soraka. Kindred though, no that is 100% abomination.
@Prince_Smugarina no i completely understand! ive only heard a little bit of her lore (i need to check it out) i literally only play her with immortal journey skim anymore. the human skin suits her *somehow* and i ADORE that skin, its so pretty. but i kinda still dislike the idea of them changing skin colors of non-human champions
I still think that little legend Yummi for starguardian skin line is a missed opportunity! And her lore incorporates it self really well, she could be a little legend that lost her starguadian as well.
They should have replaced twisted fates cards with cds or do records

7:33 This is the first I've heard of the Anima Squad skins being supposed to be sexy. Because they're not, except for kind of MF. Sure, the original Battle Bunny Riven was sexy (very intentionally so), but the reboot of the skinline turned them into animal-themed soldiers fighting against some aliens or something. Which I think is cool, but I'm pretty sure they're not meant to be sexy (except for maybe MF, but that's just a MF thing)
Eh, I just know Jinx is pretty cute in her skin.
Sea Dog Yasuo actually frustrated me for how random and unnecessary it felt, so it’s my least favorite. The others didn’t give me any particular feelings.
I also don’t mind Ashen Pantheon, if I had it I would use it. But even so I’ve been waiting for a new Pantheon skin that I’m actually excited for
I forgot pretty much all of these existed, except for the camille and the kindred skin, and I only remembered those because they make me sad.

As a pantheon main, i couldn't agree more. I remember being hyped af organizing my schedule as such so i could efficiently gather the necessary tokens, stumbled upon some great fanart that how he could look (all the fanart was goldy). When it finally released on the PBE and saw it on twitter, this wave of depression and pure disbelief hit me........ We were robbed. ( But i got the pappa smurf prestige so im good, that skin's cool af)

I fully agree with you. As someone who loves big skinlines like High Noon, Project and Space Groove, even I recognize 3 huge problems: champions not fitting a skinline, remaking lame ripoffs (ggmf is cool but battle bunny is lame, same for all the not project robot skins), and giving champs with outdated and janky models/fx all the good skinlines instead of using champions who would actually look good.
I find it mildly funny coming from TB Skyen who just made a short about Crystal Rose being Akshan's best skin then immediately seeing it here.
Obvious No 1 for worst skins 2023: Breakout true damage Ekko and Dark cosmic erasure Jhin. Riot has done us so dirty with the vfx change on chromas it’s disgusting 🤮. What’s even more disgusting, shocking and shameful all at the same time is that some people still buy those stuff and even dare to upload their attempts on UA-cam 🤢🤮😡🔥💥
I'm predicting that every new mythic skin will be a $200 gacha skin, and we can do nothing about it because riot only cares about how much money they make😂

Wave 2 spirit blossom felt like they just brought it back because of how popular the first wave was and kinda just repeated what they did last time without adding anything new, like project, night and dawn and high noon

the sea dog Yasuo skin absolutely is out of no where and entirely random and makes no sense... but I really like the aesthetic and the vfx on it

I think its kinda sad that the Space Groove Skins went from funny sci-fi Cat/Dog Skins to just gummybear like skins
Hot take:
High Fashion Prestige is the ideal implementation (at least that we've seen).
Although many lament that it does not totally look like it fits in with the rest of the skinline (i.e, Prestige Spirit Blossom Master Yi) I think it's ideal.
Otherwise you'd either have boring recolours (like all early stage prestiges), or ones that are virtually identical but just better in details and some slight colour shifts (Prestige Nightbringer Kayn, Prestige Dragonmancer Volibear) in which at that point the prestige does not offer you two totally different options but just picking whether you like the base or the fancier more.
High fashion based on the general skinline aesthetic allows an alternate take which allows better contextualising of all the sparkly effects and LV looking effects, while giving you an option of which aesthetic choice you prefer for the champion as opposed to simply being picking which of the two is blatantly better based on the same design aesthetic. There's been some stinkers lately, but I believe the earlier stages of this exploration was really nice.
The worst part of Ashen Conquerer Pantheon is that its a mythic line, meaning if you wanted the skin and didnt have the essence available from leveling, you now had to buy a boatload of masterwork chests to get the material.
What essentially was a 1250 skin at most would run people 30-40 bucks.
it would be cool to see a magician zed skin, W can be the like classic clone act, E can him pulling flowers out of a hat and throwing them, Q can be just him throwing his magician hat, and R can be a like disappera and appear there typa act

Zenith Games Jayce gave us one thing and that is ass and then they updated the splash to reduce his cakes. That's literally all it had going for it.

Oh no I haven't forgotten. I'm so mad at that skins existence too, it's just straight up an abomination. I've been hoping for a Ori legendary for so many years. Can't make her human while still having her robot voice wtf... Just give her a legendary and a visual update too. She needs to stay a robot forever, but I've been wanting her legendary to be her before she became a robot if that is possible. (Or more before she died to be exact) And then make her into a proper human ballerina inspired by black and white swan.

As a Panth main I was so mad at Ashen Knight. It could have been so cool and when it was leaked he was getting one I was hyped beyond belief but then we got the terrible ass skin we were given.

I think turning Lamb human in the Spirit Blossom skin line was fine since there's lore to back it up and the skin looks amazing. But that's the only time I want to see it done. The Porcelain Kindred skin really missed the mark and I'm not sure why they went with Kindred for that skin line in the first place.

imo, if they wanted a funky twisted fate skin they should've changed the space groove twisted fate skin into demacia vice twisted fate or something more along those lines, I feel like that skin would've resonated more with his character and theme.

Ashen knight pantheon could've been SO good. The concepts that some fans came up with were MILES better than the officual glorified ruined pantheon chroma. RIOT HOW COULD YOU DO MANTHEON SO DIRTY MAN ☠️☠️☠️
And the worst part is that THIS was pantheon's last skin and hasn't received a new one ever since.

10. So the Yasuo problem is because Yasuo and Lux are the male/female base models for any new skin concept. So they probably had concepts for all the Ruined King game champs in Buhru themes. Yasuo was probably the one that stuck the most.
