  • Walkaround my 2019 EG Standard showing everything that I have done to it since I bought it back 2019. Finished with the cosmetics and now figuring out what performance upgrades I should get done next. Here proof that you can buy and customize a Harley Touring bike on a budget.

      Thanks, aftermarket is the way to go with cosmetic parts. Harley parts can be very expensive. I try to research the parts before I buy them, so far I'm very happy with parts that I've purchased so far. I did have to replace the latch on the tour pack recently (probable will do a video about it). Advanblack makes good products.

    Looks good! You got a deal on that seat and backrest…I never get that lucky😢😂

      I found the deal during a special event at my dealership where they were hosting a swap meet. People were able to setup tables outside in the parking lot. The parts department had a couple of tables set up inside and that's where I found the best deals (so far).

    Bike looks great! Good job with that blank slate. You’ve done pretty much everything I have done on my old carbureted 2002 Electra Glide Standard except the lower fairings. I just use a set of soft covers when it’s cold out. Mechanically speaking, I did do a stage 1 and 2 kit on mine. Nothing else needs to be done to her now except just get out and ride.

      Thanks, I thought about buying the soft covers first but went ahead and bought the lower fairing when I found some for $100 on Amazon. I may go ahead and get the stage 2 kit later this year.

      @@texasgrunt5699 …. $100 bucks for the hard lower fairings is a steal. I have seen those too and thought about it, but I’m in New Mexico where it can get blazing hot and I like the air flow from down below so I didn’t pull that trigger. And in my opinion, stage 2 is the best bang for the buck on a Harley. Especially an older one like mine. No regrets with that upgrade. I took the old girl out for a ride today and after 20 years, she still purrs like a kitten and roars like a lion when she wants to.

    Harley messed up by not keeping the Electra Glide Standard because of the price and what you can do with it. Now a base model SG or RG is something like $26 and still has the 107 engine. Good job on yours, enjoyed the video and discussion. I've had 2 Harleys with Progressive suspension front/rear and they ride so much better than stock.

      I agree completely, not everyone can afford those prices. Which Progressive shocks did you install, I've been looking Progressive shocks for awhile now. Their prices aren't bad but I don't mind spending more on the suspension for comfort and safety.

      @@texasgrunt5699 The 944 Touring series is what is on my used 2012 Street Glide now and I think that is what I put on the 2015 CVO as well. All I can say is the ride is so much better as I like soft and comfortable now.

    I went even cheaper with a 2002 Electra Glide Classic. Only thing I don’t like is the factory tour pack. It’s gigantic and looks dated, so I may swap it out for one like yours to make the bike look more modern. I may update the inner fairing too, to get a radio like yours. Do you keep those lowers on in the summer? The heat has been brutal in Austin this year. I just got my bike this week, and can’t wait to start putting some miles on it. Nice bike you have. You did a good job with the upgrades.

      Swapping your tour pack to the newer style should be pretty easy. I keep my lowers on during the summer, I just open the vents and I haven't had any issues. I do have highway pegs on the engine guards that I use a lot during the summer. You should come to one of HOG meetings at the dealership, a great group of riders.

      @texasgrunt5699  Рік тому +1

      No tune, but I did replace the standard air filter with a K&N high flow filter (forgot to mention that in the video).
