I have been there and live in Colombia and have a devotion to Nuestra Señora de Las Lajas. I actually got a painting of it commissioned last month and just got it
I have read that it was tested and the rock colours go deep into the rock, but can find zero evidence it was tested. Can you get any info, Kevin S?
Would be good to get a description of the significance of all in the inage.
I went to Las Lajas and Our Lady of Good Success on a 4 day pilgrimage. 100 changed my like in so many ways
Las Lajas, the Shroud of Turin and Lady of Guadalupe are enough for me to strive to be holy thru the Catholic church. These are the things Protestants are missing in their life.
@@MyJustOpinion Our Lady of pillar too☺️
look out for Dr. Alexis Carrel and his conversion after he witnessed a miracle cure at Lourdes
True.
Don’t forget, our lady of FATIMA ..in Portugal …
At almost 70 years of age, from a practicing Catholic family. My grandfather's brother was a priest, on my mom's side - I have never heard of Our Lady Of Las Lajas! Our Lady Of Las Lajas immediately brings to mind Our Lady Of Guadalupe whose Tilma has never changed color, never faded, never damaged! The image of Our Lady Of Guadalupe maintains the temperature of the Human body, 98.6°.
The colors of Our Lady Of Las Lajas have never faded or dulled, either! Thank you for this presentation on
Our Lady Of Las Lajas 🌹✝️🌹
Our Lady Of Las Lajas, please pray for us 🌹✝️🌹
You are most welcome! The evidence is all around us and yet some won’t see it even when it cannot be explained. I think that is exactly how God wanted it, enough evidence for faith but not overwhelming evidence to make faith pointless. Thanks for the beautiful comment!
Our Lady of Las Lajas, pray for us! 🌹🤍🌹🤍✨
Our Dear Lady, Thank You for being Our Mother. Please show Your Motherly Love ❤️ upon us all.

Our Mother of Mercy!! ✝️
We think we're so clever but us humans , we know only so much, only what God allows.
It’s as miraculous significant our Lady of Guadalupe in my opinion.
I agree. The rock itself through geological processes made this perfect image!
@@heroiclives1278
No. Not done by the rock itself through geological processes. It's a Miracle caused by God! Why is that so hard to understand?
God Bless You...
Faith is all we need! Faith in God and Jesus!
Our Lady of Las Lajas please pray for us poor sinners🙏
Amen 🙏..
Our Lady of Las Lajas, please help me to increase my mobility so that I may return to Church. How I miss your Divine Son, you and all the holy Angels and Saints when I attend a holy Mass. Thank you for listening to my prayer request. Please also me with my chronic pain and other health issues. I take refuge in your Immaculate Heart dear Mother of Las Lajas!
Thanks and praise to our Heavenly Father for giving us this beacon of love and hope in the midst of great darkness. Let's live deeply in the mysteries of the holy rosary given through St Dominic and the spirituality of St Francis of Assisi who was called to rebuild Christ's Church. Mother Mary pray for us. Holy Infant Jesus bless and protect us.✝️⚓️💕🙏💐

Beautifully presented. I discovered this last year and passed it on to family. You have a new subscriber. Thanks again. For those who don't know about the Blessed Virgin Mary, here's a sample. The Blessed Virgin Mary is:
- the “woman” of Genesis 3:15 & Rev. 12;
- Jesus called Mary “woman” (John 2:4 & 19:26-27);
- the “woman” in Revelation 12:1 because Jesus is the “man child” in Revelation 12:5;
- the nemesis of Satan (Genesis 3:15)
- the mother of God (Luke 1:35 & 43);
- Elizabeth exclaimed, “And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord (God);
- the spiritual mother of all (John 19:26-27);
- the new “type” of Ark (Rev. 11:19-12:2);
- Mary took the same path to and from Egypt the Ark took (Matt 2:13-23);
- Mary being the new Ark, John the Baptist danced just as King David did with the arrival of the Ark (Luke 1:41 & 2 Samuel 6:14-22);
- Mary being the new Ark, the 3 objects in the Ark (Hebrews 9:4) are the scriptural “type” of the mind, body, and soul of Jesus in the womb of Mary;
- the Queen of Heaven and Earth (Rev. 12:1-2);
- Mary is Queen because “on her head a crown 👑 of twelve stars ✨”(Rev. 12:1);
- the stars ✨ represent the angels cast out of heaven “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth (Rev. 12:4);
- FULL OF GRACE (Luke 1:28)
- whose soul magnifies the Lord (Luke 1:46).
- the Almighty has done great things to me (Luke 1:49).

You keep coming here to Earth to show us the way
You repeatedly tell us to pray, pray, pray.

Here in YT there is a site called OurLadyIsGod. The priest in the vid says our Lady isnt Mary, but God. Is this true?
Thank you for your comment! I want to clarify a serious misunderstanding: Catholic teaching has never, in any way, considered Mary to be God. To claim otherwise is to misunderstand Catholic doctrine and even early Christian belief.
The Heresy of Mary Being considered God has a name in Catholicism: Collyridianism.
The idea that Mary is divine is actually a condemned heresy called Collyridianism, which arose in the 4th century. The Church Fathers, particularly St. Epiphanius of Salamis (Panarion 79:1-8), explicitly rejected this error, making it clear that Mary is a creature, not the Creator. The Catholic Church has always upheld this distinction.
Mary is the Perfect Human Vessel, Not Divine, but does deserve our honoring her.
Mary’s role is unique but not divine. She is the most exalted of all creatures, the one whom God chose to bear His Son, but she remains entirely human. Luke 1:28 calls her “full of grace,” meaning she was uniquely prepared by God, but grace is something given to creatures, not something that belongs to God by nature.
You might find it enlightening to listen to The Mystical City of God, which I have available on my site. In it, you will clearly see how God created Mary out of love, not as a deity, but as the perfect human vessel for His perfect Son. This work shows her humility and dependence on God in a way that makes it impossible to mistake her for being divine.
Biblical Proof That Mary Is Not God
1. Mary Calls God Her Savior - “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior” (Luke 1:46-47). If Mary were divine, she wouldn’t need a Savior. This verse alone proves she is a created being dependent on God’s grace.
2. God Alone is Worshiped - Jesus, when tempted by Satan, affirms: “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve” (Luke 4:8). Catholics do not worship Mary-only God receives latria (worship). Mary is honored (hyperdulia), just as the saints are honored (dulia), but neither is worship.
3. Jesus is the Only Divine Mediator - “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). Mary intercedes for us as a mother, just as Christians ask one another to pray, but she does not replace Christ’s unique role as Mediator.
4. Mary Herself Points to Christ - At the wedding at Cana, Mary does not take authority but says, “Do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5). She always directs us to Jesus, not to herself.
Final Thought
The Catholic Church upholds Mary’s exalted place as the Mother of God (Theotokos, Council of Ephesus, 431 AD) but has never declared her divine. Instead, she is the greatest human example of humility and obedience to God.
I encourage you to listen to The Mystical City of God on my site to see for yourself how Mary’s role is one of perfect devotion to God, not divinity.
God bless you, and thank you for your interest in discussing this!
Our Lady, full of grace…full of humility!!! I love you Mother! 🙏🏻❤

I demand that the results of the geological analysis of the depth of the colors in the rock be published in a scientific geological journal with peer reviewed critiques. My attempts to contact the local Bishop about the identity of the geologists and the existence of actual results were not answered. Either the Bishop does not care or he is afraid to confront the scientific analysis of the image. Please, pressure the Bishop to act on this issue.

Catholics stop being fooled by whoever. Start to read the word of God, what are you afraid of? Read believe and obey. The blessings abundant, here on this earth and the eternal. Not knowing God’s will and assuming and listening to tales with no proof, not in the bible, is all dangerous, as you will get the biggest shock of your life at judgement, and cannot rectify or blame any one, but accept the outcome, it is fearful as eternity is in stake.
Hi @YoIBasDa,
I appreciate your concern for truth and your desire that people follow the Word of God. However, I’d like to clarify some misunderstandings about the Catholic faith.
1. Catholics Read and Obey the Word of God
You urge Catholics to “start to read the Word of God,” implying that we do not. However, the Catholic Church compiled the Bible under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, preserving both the Old and New Testaments. Every Catholic Mass includes multiple readings from Scripture, including the Gospels, and the Church encourages personal Bible study. In fact, many Catholic saints, such as St. Jerome, emphasized that “ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”
2. Catholic Teachings Are Rooted in the Bible
You suggest that Catholicism teaches “tales with no proof, not in the Bible.” However, Catholic doctrine is deeply biblical:
• The Trinity (Matthew 28:19)
• The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist (John 6:51-58; 1 Corinthians 11:27-29)
• The Authority of the Church (Matthew 16:18-19; 1 Timothy 3:15)
• The Communion of Saints (Hebrews 12:1; Revelation 5:8)
• The Role of Mary (Luke 1:28, 42; John 2:1-5)
If you’d like, I’d be happy to discuss any Catholic teaching in light of Scripture.
3. Faith is More Than Just the Bible Alone
You mention that Catholics should not “listen to tales with no proof.” However, the idea that Christianity should be based on the Bible alone (sola scriptura) is itself not in the Bible. The Bible actually points to Sacred Tradition and the teaching authority of the Church (2 Thessalonians 2:15, 1 Timothy 3:15). The early Christians didn’t have a completed New Testament for centuries, yet they lived the faith as passed down through the Apostles.
4. Eternity and Judgment: Trusting in Christ
You warn about the “biggest shock” at judgment. That is true for anyone who rejects Christ (Matthew 7:21-23), but Catholics do not reject Christ-we worship Him as our Lord and Savior. We trust in His mercy and follow His teachings, which include love, obedience, and the sacraments He instituted. We are saved by grace through faith, working in love (Ephesians 2:8-10; James 2:24).
5. Avoiding Misunderstandings
It’s good to ask questions and seek the truth rather than assume things about Catholicism. Many people misunderstand the Church’s teachings because they have been misrepresented. If you’d like, I’d be happy to recommend resources or have a friendly discussion about Catholic beliefs.
I pray that we both continue to seek Christ with open hearts. God bless you!
We should be worshipping GOD only!
Amen! We worship God alone. The Catholic Church teaches that worship (latria) belongs to God alone. However, honoring Mary and the saints (dulia) is not worship but veneration-just as we might honor great men and women of faith, like Abraham or the apostles. Statues and images are not idols; they are reminders, much like a photograph of a loved one. At Las Lajas, people are drawn closer to Christ through Mary, just as she always points the way to her Son (John 2:5). If you love Jesus, why not honor His mother?
Idol worship!
Follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
What was the first commandment according to Jesus Christ?
Too many are following dogma, and not the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Absolutely! That’s exactly why we honor Mary-because Christ did. He obeyed the commandment to ‘honor your father and mother’ (Exodus 20:12), and as His followers, we strive to do the same. Mary herself told us to ‘do whatever He tells you’ (John 2:5). Everything about Marian devotion leads us closer to Jesus. If you love Christ, you’ll want to follow His example in how He treated His own mother.
That painting is definitely of the period, created by an artist and any claim it is of divine origin is a superstitious and pious falsity. This type of fraudulent claim diminishes the truely miraculous!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I completely understand your concern about distinguishing between true miracles and human embellishments. The Catholic Church takes such matters seriously and carefully investigates miraculous claims before approving them for veneration.
In the case of Las Lajas, what's remarkable is not just the image itself but the long history of devotion and the inexplicable nature of the rock formation where the image is embedded. While artistic styles of Marian apparitions do often reflect the cultural context of the people who receive them (as we see with Our Lady of Guadalupe, Fatima, or Lourdes), the real question is not merely about the image’s artistic characteristics but whether God has used this place as a means of drawing people closer to Him.
The Church does not require anyone to believe in private revelations, but it does recognize that God often works through signs that speak to people where they are. What’s most important is the fruit of these events-do they lead people to Christ? In the case of Las Lajas, the devotion has inspired countless conversions, healings, and deeper faith.
I appreciate your concern for protecting the integrity of true miracles. Rather than seeing such claims as competition for the miraculous, I think they remind us that God meets His people in mysterious ways.
God bless you!
Painted in a Medieval style shows it's manufacture. Also St. Simon Stock was the originator of the brown scapular NOT St Francis of Assisi. Therefore the image shows a historical / theological error
It is not the brown scapular but the belt worn by the franciscans.
As far as style God is free to draw however he wants
Thanks for your comment. The claim that the medieval style proves this is a forgery misunderstands how religious art works. The miraculous image of Our Lady of Las Lajas is naturally imprinted in the rock, but surrounding devotional images-like this one-were created in familiar artistic styles to aid devotion. Many authentic religious images have been depicted in the style of their time without that affecting their authenticity.
As for the Brown Scapular, you’re absolutely right that St. Simon Stock, not St. Francis, is traditionally associated with it. However, this image follows a Latin American devotional tradition where multiple saints, even from different orders, are often depicted together to show their shared Marian devotion. Additionally, both Franciscans and Dominicans had their own scapular traditions, so the presence of a scapular here does not necessarily indicate a historical or theological error but rather a blending of Marian iconography common in Spanish colonial Catholicism.
Ultimately, this image reflects centuries of Marian devotion in Latin America rather than a strict historical reenactment. Hope this helps clarify
There are many various genres in Medieval artwork (including iconography) that encompass many different styles and periods beginning 4th century AD up to the beginning of the Renaissance era (c. 1400 up to 16th century AD). Medieval art style is the most beautiful and reverent of all art genres. Can you image a depiction from say, Picasso? Like Cubism, Abstract, Surrealism, Psychedelic Art? Personally, I think not.
Moreover, this miraculous image of Our Lady of Las Lajas appeared 1754 AD and in the 1700's the art genre was Baroque, Rocco and Neoclassism. Not Medieval Era, but the Age of Enlightenment.
And wearing earrings & lipstick. And there's no real evidence for core samples being actually taken. The image on close inspection shows not one hole on it's surface. And it's not the brown scapular but the cord of St Francis but the image shows it in reverse order. Why? Bc it was NOT God that gave poverty, chastity & obedience to St Francis but rather it was Francis that gave poverty Chastity & obedience to God. This image was designed as a teaching instrument for the indigenous people. The RCC doesn't claim it authentic but allows for it's veneratio
It's still a manufactured image. One many such pious hoaxes the RCC has used for hundreds of years
A hallmark of hell
I’m curious-what makes you describe Las Lajas as “a hallmark of hell”? Las Lajas Sanctuary is a place of deep prayer and devotion to Christ, where many have found healing and drawn closer to God. If you’re referring to Catholic beliefs about Mary, it’s important to remember that honoring her doesn’t replace worship of Jesus but points us to Him-just as she did at the Wedding at Cana (John 2:1-11). If you have specific concerns, I’d be happy to discuss them with you!
" Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths"
Paul in 1 Timothy 4.7
Ksav Levad
Thank you for your comment! The verse you referenced, 1 Timothy 4:7, warns against ‘irreverent and silly myths.’ However, devotion to Our Lady is not based on myths but on biblical truths, Church tradition, and the experience of countless Christians throughout history.
From Genesis to Revelation, Mary’s role is woven into God’s plan of salvation. She is not a myth, but a central figure in Scripture. In Genesis 3:15, God declares that there will be enmity between the woman and the serpent, and that her offspring will crush the serpent’s head. This is a prophetic foreshadowing of Mary and Christ, showing her special role in salvation. In Luke 1:28, the Angel Gabriel calls Mary “full of grace,” a title indicating her unique holiness. In Luke 1:42-43, Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, calls Mary “blessed among women” and “the mother of my Lord.” If the Holy Spirit leads Elizabeth to honor Mary, then honoring her is not unbiblical. Furthermore, in Luke 2:35, Simeon prophesies that Mary’s soul will be pierced, connecting her deeply to Christ’s redemptive suffering.
Mary is also foreshadowed in the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark in the Old Testament carried the Word of God (the tablets of the Law), manna (the bread from heaven), and Aaron’s rod (symbolizing priesthood). Mary carried Jesus, the Word made flesh, the true Bread of Life, and the eternal High Priest. This connection is emphasized in 2 Samuel 6:9, where David asks, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” Similarly, Elizabeth asks, “Why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” In both 2 Samuel 6:16 and Luke 1:41, we see David dancing before the Ark and John the Baptist leaping in his mother’s womb when Mary arrives. Additionally, the Ark remained in the house of Obed-Edom for three months (2 Samuel 6:11), just as Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three months (Luke 1:56). These striking parallels show that Scripture itself presents Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant, worthy of honor.
Mary’s significance continues into the book of Revelation. In Revelation 12:1-5, a woman clothed with the sun, with a crown of twelve stars, gives birth to a male child who will rule all nations. This woman is understood by many to represent both Israel and Mary, the mother of Jesus, who plays a role in Christ’s victory.
Moreover, Jesus Himself provides a test for discerning truth in Matthew 7:16: “You will know them by their fruits.” If Marian apparitions were false, they would not lead people to deeper faith in Christ, repentance, and the sacraments. However, authentic apparitions, like Our Lady of Las Lajas, have brought many people closer to Jesus and His Church. Throughout history, Marian devotion has inspired greater love for Christ, deeper prayer, and conversions to the faith.
Ultimately, Mary always leads people to Christ. As she says in John 2:5, “Do whatever He tells you.” Devotion to Our Lady is not about worshipping her but about following her example and seeking Christ through her. I’d love to continue this discussion if you’re open to it! God bless.
The naivety and poor realism, bordering on daub, of the painting, indicate that the hired painter was certainly not a master of his craft...
Blessed are those who did not see, and yet believe.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! While artistic taste is subjective, the unique aspect of the image of Our Lady of Las Lajas is not its artistic mastery, but the fact that it is not painted on the rock at all-rather, it is part of the rock itself. Scientific studies have shown that the colors penetrate deep into the stone, rather than being applied on the surface like traditional paintings. This makes it unlike any ordinary artwork and is one of the reasons why it has fascinated researchers and believers alike. Whether one sees beauty in it or not, the real mystery lies in how it came to be. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that!
Absolutely! Jesus praises those who believe without needing to see. However, throughout Scripture, God has chosen to use signs, miracles, and wonders to strengthen faith and draw people to Him. Think of the burning bush for Moses (Exodus 3:2), the miracles of Elijah and Elisha, or even Jesus’ own miracles, which helped many come to believe in Him (John 20:30-31). Marian apparitions and miraculous events like Our Lady of Las Lajas are not meant to replace faith but to inspire and deepen it. Many people have been led to Christ through these events, just as Thomas ultimately believed after seeing. What do you think?
@
How to see colours *inside* the rock?
Can you mention ANY of a "scientific" peer reviewed paper pertaining to the image?
I mean ANY (ANY)?
Apparently there were "numerous scientific investigations."
@@maruchagajowyScience cannot explain miracles. Science has shown this is supernatural. Aka Miraculous 😊
So the image of your Idol, cannot be explained OR you just don't know the explanation. There is nowhere in Scripture that we are told to worship a woman or a goddess. You have dishonored the mother of our Lord by worshiping and praying to her. We have ONE MEDIATOR between us and the Father -- the man Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5-6). The cult of Mary is not godly, no matter how sincere.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate your concern for staying faithful to Scripture. However, I’d like to clarify some misunderstandings about Catholic teaching regarding Mary.
1. Catholics Do Not Worship Mary - Worship (latria) belongs to God alone. The honor given to Mary (hyperdulia) is distinct from worship. Scripture shows that honoring righteous figures is biblical (Exodus 20:12, Luke 1:48). When Mary says, “All generations will call me blessed” (Luke 1:48), she is not seeking worship but acknowledging the unique role God has given her.
2. Intercession is Biblical - Asking Mary to pray for us is no different from asking a fellow Christian to pray for us. Scripture encourages intercession (1 Timothy 2:1-4, James 5:16). The saints in heaven are alive in Christ (Luke 20:38) and present their prayers before God (Revelation 5:8, Revelation 8:3-4).
3. One Mediator Does Not Mean No Intercession - 1 Timothy 2:5 teaches that Jesus is the only Mediator between God and man in the sense that He alone provides salvation. However, that doesn’t exclude intercession from others. The same chapter (1 Timothy 2:1-4) urges us to pray and intercede for one another, which is exactly what we believe Mary and the saints do in heaven.
4. Mary’s Unique Role in Salvation History - God chose Mary to be the mother of Jesus, the Word made flesh (Luke 1:26-38). At the wedding at Cana, Mary interceded on behalf of others, leading to Jesus’ first miracle (John 2:1-11). On the cross, Jesus gave Mary to all believers as their spiritual mother (John 19:26-27).
5. Biblical Support for Veneration - In Luke 1:28, the angel Gabriel greets Mary with “Hail, full of grace,” a title that acknowledges her special grace from God. Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, exclaims, “Blessed are you among women” (Luke 1:42). If the angel and Elizabeth honor Mary, why shouldn’t we?
Our love and veneration of Mary always lead us closer to Christ, not away from Him. I encourage you to study how early Christians understood Mary’s role in faith and prayer. I appreciate your engagement and hope this clarifies things!
God bless you!
@heroiclives1278 Unfortunately, some folks seem to have nothing if they can't denigrate Catholicism.
What ? She’s the mother of Jesus! My God! Not an idol! Can you explain the mystery of Jesus? Have you ever met him In person? I you haven’t! But you believe in him! Why not our Lady?
@@heroiclives1278 great explanation. Very detailed and factual. I'm hoping that the person whom you responded to actually reads it. Sometimes people just like to throw mud. I'll try to remember to pray for them at the first Saturday Mass tomorrow. I'll be repairing for many protestants tomorrow. Thank you.
@@avnrulzI was raised Protestant and became Catholic as an adult. It is part of the culture in some churches. I just try to remember that and answer in charity. I have grown closer to Christ through Our Lady.
