I cannot wait until I can build my tiny home and listen to the rain falling on the roof.....such a beautiful sound!
The thing I hate about reselling is when a buyer asks a question that is already stated in the item description or title. I once had a buyer ask me how tall is the 24" robot I'm selling. I figured it takes more time to type a message then just read the item description. Great show Kevin, keep going!
Hello Kevin, I love watching your energy and when you become a teacher as you were it takes a lot of energy, I worked 25 years in the school system 😊😊
Good morning! Little Poncho is adorable! Wallen’s little brother, so sweet. ❤❤
It sure is a lot of work reselling 😊
Found a 1940’s hand hammered leaf sconce made in Italy. Paid 7.00 listed for 400.00
Turner, why doesnt santa have to pay for parking?? CUZ it's on the house! 😊
Time is very precious especially working full time at my 8 - 5. Love seeing your beautiful family helping you out 😊💐
I haven’t been out searching lately since my mom passed , I have around a 1000 items in my store & more to come that was my mom . She was a reseller dealer that bought everything. From dolls , jewelry, collectables . I guess the least thing I hate to do is the listing part . I do love the sales so I keep reminding myself keep listing. 😂😂
Congratulations 👏👏👏 Thank you for sharing all this helpful information for us newcomers. Be Blessed brother 🙏
Thanks again for another great video. My least favorite thing about reselling is the taking photos, when I start making enough money I will hire a photographer, a younger person high school or college student just wanting to pick up some extra money after school for an hour or two a week, I of course will do the photo editing. I actually enjoy listing and find it relaxing and I don't mind shipping eighter. My favorite thing about reselling is probably everyone's favorite, which is the hunt, sourcing. My best pick of the week was a pair of vintage Justin Boots Original Work Boot Ropers in like new condition, I paid up for them $25.00 but the comps are around $135.00, and the second-best pick of the week surprised me, a jewel encrusted glass picture frame by a designer that sells for $75.00 to $125.00. Here in Montana yard sale season is just getting underway as the temps are rising to 65 degrees and the threat of snow is diminishing. We get 3 maybe 4 months of weather that is good enough for yard sales here in Montana so pickers like me get very excited this time of year.
I have been watching your videos for a very long time and have learned alot from you. I am thinking about taking a break from your channels because your business model is not relatable to me anymore. I am a part time reseller struggleing to make sales. After I watch your videos I feel worse about my business.
You can't compare yourself to other sellers, especially not those with a huge YT following. Everyone's journey is different. I sell mainly women's clothing on Poshmark & eBay, only part-time. But I enjoy watching both of Kevin's channels just to see the interesting items he finds & also for the tips. If I weren't disabled, I'd probably expand to all kinds of items as it's amazing to me all the crazy, quirky things folks buy on eBay. I live on disability & resell for fun & a bit of extra income.
The harder I try the more I fell.
Remember that he is a content creator and not really a reseller. You don't even know if he even sells anything. A great channel to check out is Beau Johnson, I think you will change your mind about reselling. Good luck.
@@idbountyhunter not really a reseller? Do you watch his videos? All of them show what he’s sold! Enough to make a living without the UA-cam income.
These guys are so jealous of Kevin's sales they follow him and other "not resellers" and comment ridiculous claims like this. @WhatNow101
Hope you enjoyed your time away and welcome back
My Mom is going to love her pin, thanks for the shout out! Lately, I've been selling Man Cave type items, Likely for Father's Day. God Bless and Thank you
Sheeesh papa!!!
Nice upbeat video. Pleasure to watch 👍😊
Love your channel, Commonwealth Picker. You have so much knowledge, wisdom about the Picking and Reselling to offer. I hope that these platforms don't start imposing more rules for the Reseller to have to follow. When you purchase things with your own money, you should be able to resell it if you no longer want that item. Their trying to make it hard for anyone to make money on their things if they want to sell it. Also Goodwill shouldn't be allowed to Jack their prices so high, just because they see that people are resellers! Goodwill is a second hand store, and the people look for things there because they have not much money to purchase them at full cost. What do you think about all of this?
Happy for you all. Truth is our sales are still down about 35% since Christmas. Several I know are in the same spot. We're hopeful once all the updates are done things will pick up. Have fun selling everyone.
I think I have two least favorites: taking photos, and dealing with the rude buyers and scammers, like the false INAD cases and just rude people. I got a message yesterday on a TEN dollar item (vintage toy, only one on ebay still sealed) calling me a scalper and saying I should charge half of that since greedy ebay sellers get their things for free! I want to know where to go get these free items!
Taught myself an easy cross posting technique. I am not ready as a reseller to add to my expenses.
Excellent!
would you teach others?
Kevin you are exactly right about live selling as a tool if it makes sense for your business model. I deal in mostly estate buyouts and storage auctions which means high volumes of less than desirable eBay inventory. I started Whatnot September 2023 to provide an outlet for that inventory with great success BUT it is simply a liquidation tool not a complete change of business plan. If looking at live selling as an outlet keep in mind it is not nearly as easy as it looks and prices are completely at the mercy of the crowd, zero consistency
After complaining yesterday about slow sales this month I sold almost $800 this weekend. If you list good quality items at competitive prices they will come.
Incorrect. You can list and list and list and if it's not your time to get that boost or ebay keeps the lights off on your store nothing will move. PERIOD
@@eagle1984Well all’s I know is $789 is heading to my Vegas account tomorrow. Maybe you should re-evaluate what you’re considering good items to list.
Great sales Kevin. Hope your plan continues to work well!
Love your channels watch a lot I wanted to share I picked up HM mantle clock for $75 and sells for $795. Grandstand. Thanks for sharing your experiences and tips much love.
God Bless
Taz
I can't focus, I don't have the discipline. I keep straying outside the boundaries I set for myself as far as large sized stuff, stuff that takes too long to list because of cleaning, testing, research, etc. My death pile never shrinks which creates even more work because stuff I brought home clean ends up getting dusty before I list it so I have to clean it anyway. I've been doing ebay for over 20 years so you'd think I'd know better. I have the experience I just don't capitalize like I should. I am addicted to picking.
Being part time with 1200 listings . The part I hate is storing it so I don’t look like a hoarder . Love sourcing the most . I sell about 30 to 50 items a month and only sell on Mercari . The shipping scares me on eBay
Your polka dot glass piece is a
"rose bowl" style. Congrats on a record 6 days!🇺🇲🍀
I knew you could do it, man. Way to go! Keep grinding!
I love how your inventory is so organized. Will you ever have a tour video?
I wish I could make that much
Congratulations Kevin
Good morning Kevin ❤❤❤
I’m taking a step back from live selling again for the reason you mentioned. I’ve put a lot of thought into it and the time finally clicked. It doesn’t make sense for me to try to keep up with it while doing my eBay and crosslisting. I liked doing it so I want to figure out doing one now and then.
So that room looksije Dave's garage. Lol
I love your videos and shared knowledge. The thing I hate most about reselling is taking the time to create listings. I'm usually struggling with whether it is worth listing, what is the best title, and what is the best price to get it sold with a decent profit.
Sounds like the check you send to the IRS every quarter is really going to grow! 😀😀😀
I pick what I know. I’m still building inventory on whatnot, when I have a good selection, I’ll start
Only issue I hate with reselling is authenticating items.
The same thing happens to me! I often forget to put Bonanza on vacation mode, and it always performs well when my eBay is on time away.
How can u say you are not a full time reseller? You are doing very well...Impressive
Far and away, the majority of Kevin's income is from all social media platforms and not reselling. But, yes, he does very well in the reselling piece as well.
Agreed, no matter how u slice it or dice it, those hrs = full time with social media + live sales, which a YTber just said she will be focusing more on much more.
Just started and struggling but hoping to get the hang of it .
I'm a newer seller (started last Nov.) and this last weekend was the first time I had both the availability and good weather to be able to go picking. I got a $160 set of Bose headphones for $20. Not an awesome day overall, but it was good to get my feet wet.
I love to dig and find the deals. Even with my own death piles. I am amazed at how much some things sell for and it is like going to the diamond mine and finding that one gem. Yes I live in Arkansas with the only public diamond mine and people find them everyday. The best thing I found was some auto fishing reels in the bottom of a box. They were free and both boxes sold in less than 48hrs for $30 each! I feel I live in a hidden gem of a state and there are so many resale shops where the prices are great and.not a ton of resellers snatching everything up. Yeah everything is an hour drive from my home but we schedule our buying around Dr appts in these towns. My biggest problem is getting things listed fast enough. This is where I need the most help that and photos.
Always wanted to go there and find diamonds! Someday.....
And a great Governor.
I have the same cooler 😊
I stop by to watch
Time away may be good.😊!
I like Bonanza
Dwaaaaa puppers ❤
When. Y husband smoked we got a Marlboro jacket 😊😊 I think I gave it to my son 😊
I have been selling items that I never liked or tired of dusting then my spouse said something about my selling an item his mother gave us. I never liked the item and hated dusting it and never liked his mother but he did not turn down the money when he collected. There are times when the money has to be made to finance what you want or need and it is time for things to go having a negative spouse does not help. 😅😅😅
Omgeee Kevin your glass sales are AMAZING 🤩
I dabbled I’m live selling but right now I’m still very part time but soon I’ll be retired from the 9-5 and then I probably will! 🎉🎉
Oh my, Pancho is soooo cute!! 🐶💕💕
I hate taking pictures but my husband is starting to take a liking to picture taking 😅
You might do well selling on niknax.
@@commonwealthflipper even just as a part-timer? I tried whatnot and after 4 shows gave up 🫤
FYI for Kevin, Two's Company is a brand applied to a lot of pretties imported from India, China, etc. Mostly China. The applied decoration black amethyst glass may have been theirs, it was new enough, but I"m not expert enough to be sure.
Unbelievable selling past 2 weeks. My delivery route for Amazon averages around 125 packages during off season. The past 2 weeks it has been around 175-200 packages. Amazon only and all other platforms have increased too.
THANK YOU! I wasn't trying to be negative on Dave's video :( Sorry he saw it that way. I just knew after he explained it, that it wasn't for me.
Kevin is excited about doing no work and making a bunch of money. Yeah we would all be excited Kevin haha!
100% on the opportunity costs. I was feeling like i needed to branch out to whatnot, gave it a shot, screwed up the 2nd then decided I'd focus on what made me happy. Im part-time with a FTJ no reason for me to kill myself on a platform thsts not enjoyable and eats too much time
I’m actually curious since you mentioned it, what is your ASP? Mines extremely high for an asp because of what I sale, but I’m starting to get into the clothing side of things and I know my ASP is gonna tank just wondering what other peoples ASP is (mines $255 not a flex I pay up for my stuff I work on a 30% ROI ish)
👍
I recently got on Bonanza and was wondering if you got a membership. I have not as of yet.
What an incredible week! Do you think your 20 hr a week estimate needs to be revised? With an employee, I think it's much higher.
Hey man, can you do some videos on knickknack and some of the other platforms like basics thanks
Hi, are you promoting on Bonanza? Glad your getting sales but so far no luck.
4 in to $40
What are your view on Top Seller Plus?
Hey Kevin, Is Bonanza like Ebay or is it more like the facebook marketplace? From what I read it sounds like it is and we're on our own when there are issues, unlike ebay.
I had the highest grossing week in my 1.5 years of full time reselling, $1,194. I’m wondering is your 2k eBay sales gross or after shipping and fees(obviously not after taxes and expenses)? I ask because I’m about two weeks out until I have at or more inventory than you’ve said you have listed. I do everything by myself and I would love an idea of what I need to prepare for and knowing whether your 2k is gross or net gives me strong insight into hours I will be working and how much supplies I need to stock up on. Thank you!
That was gross
@@commonwealthflipper Thank you! My average gross/item is hovering around $38, so hopefully I can go ahead and work out a solid order for shipping supplies and all. Congrats BTW!
^5 on the mega-sourcing!!! It's been all but DEAD here and this is supposed to be prime tagsale time. If you're scoring stuff ..WHEEE! CONGRATS! When it came to lower dollar sales, I gave up on anything under $25 on eBay because it literally wasn't worth my time. Everthing was OOAK and vintage and took the same amount of TIME to list for a $25 sale, a $10 sale, or a $75 sale. Even at a zero money price point for the source, it wasn't worth selling the $10-$20 items. I can see doing those on the live sales with a far lower time investment .
You say hat, but aren't those caps 😊
Just curious, Kevin... who mows your lawn? It's a whopper, but beautiful!
At this time, it is not worth cross listing. I work full time too.
I guess I’m first❤️
Hey Kevin, I thought you were pulling all your items from Bonanza after their recent behavior? Then, suddenly, record sales from that same platform? Sounds like they heard your comments and decided they better make it happen or risk losing one of their only sellers? 🤣 ✌
I did not say I was pulling my items. I said I am going to continue the same way with no changes. I said if I had to go on and approve items and not automate it then I would rather pull my items.
@@commonwealthflipper Got it. Mission accomplished either way. ✌
Do you do a flat rate buy it now or auction?
99 percent buy it now
Hey Kevin, how many sheds do you have? Wife is begging to get one as inventory is all over, how do you recommend getting one?
4
Edit...3.30 for 3m
Don't want to jinx it..... auction ends soon.... 4 salt and pepper shaker sets, 1 for personal 1 for resale..,2 for whimsy
3 of 4, whimsical dutch boy and girl, Swiss boy and girl, Wooden salt and pepper shakers, didn't win Garfield and Pookie for myself.... think I'll find it cheaper than sold for....cost 3.30 total
Can I ask y’all a listing question for EBay? I have a Sterling Silver 925 bracelet that I bought over 5 years ago before my husband passed away I paid $250 and I need to sell it. I did a google image search to help word the listing and when I did that it pulled up one that looks identical to a Tiffany & Co. I know I can’t say anything about that but what can I say? Can I say “similar to T&C” ? I just don’t want to get in trouble. Thanks
I would not risk that! If you can’t find a Tiffany marking on it, it could get yanked. Happened to me with a naively posted a “similar to Chanel” bracelet. Bad!
Yep, posting "similar to" is a big no no.
@Commonwealth Flipper What Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle was that, that was going to pull over $100? Btw- I grew up in good old Lynchburg. EC Glass graduate too😂
Creature from the black lagoon
@@commonwealthflipper Thanks!!
Congrats Jesus owes you money
Jesus paid the greatest price. Doesn’t owe us anything.
Do you ever rest 😂
