NHL playoffs are amazing. You guys should watch the celebration at the end when they get to finally lift the cup
Go Avs!!! Their 2001 Cup win is what got my into ice hockey. Both teams had great seasons and hats off to the Lightning for being in 3 straight Cup Finals, winning the prior 2!
Crazy part was the injuries these guys were playing through. It came out after that guys had a broken foot, a torn quad, dislocated shoulder, and many more. The Stanley Cup playoffs are such a grind, just an all out war. Such an impressive tournament to win.
And it's all thanks to the black men who created modern day ice hockey with skills such as the slap shot... and for obvious hateful racist reasons they were excluded from its history by wealthy whites who hijacked the game and took full credit for it's existence. Just figured I'd mention that in case
Yes! Those of us in Colorado have been waiting for the Stanley Cup to come back to us and were very proud of our team this year.
As a Coyotes fan I can only dream of the Yotes getting our new arena and finding the success and stability the Avs have, lol
@@coyotelong4349 that’s the thing when you’re a diehard fan, you have to tolerate a lot of bad years as well. Good luck to you down there. I am a Broncos fan as well so I know all about those tough times, smiles.
From Wikipedia: The Stanley Cup (French: La Coupe Stanley) is the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion. It is the oldest existing trophy to be awarded to a professional sports franchise in North America, and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) considers it to be one of the "most important championships available to the sport".[1] The trophy was commissioned in 1892 as the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup and is named after Lord Stanley of Preston, the Governor General of Canada, who donated it as an award to Canada's top-ranking amateur ice hockey club.
There is an "open secret" in the NHL--the trophy the players are given is not the original Cup. There are actually three Stanley Cups: the original bowl of the "Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup," donated by Lord Stanley in 1892, and loaned to the winner until 1970; the "Presentation Cup," now loaned to the winner, created to prevent any further damage to the original; and the spelling-corrected "Permanent Cup" on display at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
The player Mike was trying to remember is Cale Maker. At 23, won the Norris (best defense man) and Conn Smythe (playoff MVP). You should check out a highlight reel on this kid.
Playoff hockey at it's peak... Can't be beat. I've been to an NBA final, MLS cup and a world series. I think it's the close space of being in a arena, the roar of the crowd in a enclosed space.. I've converted a few NBA and NFL fans who would always disrespect hockey even though they had never been to a game or watched a full game on TV. Remind me of the first NBA game I went to... Watching it on TV doesn't do the atmosphere justice.
The young Colorado defenseman is Cale Makar who went to the same school I did, The University of Massachusetts. He only played one season there and then turned pro but he won the Hobey Baker Award in that season which is given to the best player in college hockey. We're very proud of him.
I feel bad for Corey Perry of Tampa Bay.
He signed with Dallas for 2020, and lost in the Finals. He then signed with Montreal in 2021 and lost in the Finals again. So, he signed with Tampa Bay for 2022 (the team that beat him the year before), and loses in the Finals a third time, with three different teams, three years in a row lol
Yeah that's heartbreaking.
He won it in 2007 with Anaheim.
@@rdramos13 Yeah would've felt more bad if he made the finals 3 times back to back and still didn't have a cup under his belt. That Anaheim team was a gritty one too.
@@Timmycoo I don't feel bad for perry at all I watched him play in Anaheim more times then I can count an he's just a total fruit cake out their.. lmao but atleast he has one cup but that's gonna be his only one
@@dylanlevy2107 lol definitely. He's kinda shied away from that nature he had in Anaheim (they were the rivals of my team, San Jose) so we hated playing them lol.
Need an NHL playoff goals reaction or most electrifying moments
Thank you for reacting. Been a avs fan my whole life. I've waited my whole life for this stanley cup win. They found a way
Always love when you guys watch hockey vids
By the age of 23, the defenseman u were talking about Cale Makar, has won the Hobey Baker Award (for the best college hockey player), the Calder Trophy (for rookie of the year), the Norris Trophy (for the best defenseman), the Conn Smythe (for the MVP of the playoffs), and a Stanley Cup! AT 23!! Only 3 years in the NHL and he became the first person to win all 5 of those! He's insane and he's only just getting started which is unbelievable!
MacKinnon is one of the top players. His comment last year blew up when they got eliminated and he said "I'm going into my 9th year in the league and I haven't won shit".
Well this was an unexpected clashing of my worlds. Go ass
Ice Soccer
There are 32 teams in the NHL and 7 are from Canada.. I was huge fan, being from Jersey, of the early 2000's Devils team, of course because they were winning! the devils actually were a relocated team from Colorado in the 90's, and then Colorado got a new team. Glad you guys kept your video going and changed the one you were watching to make it worth while for us!
I have been waiting 21 years for the Avs to bring the cup back home!!! GO AVALANCHE!!! 🤘
10:31 that’s the offensive attack in hockey called a “one-timer” which is the equivalent of a volley in soccer/football… Basically a pass and the shooter takes a shot on goal as soon as the puck reaches his stick
you guys have to watch this, I love to see your reaction
Coolest part about the cup that seperated it from other sports is you get your name permanently engraved into it.. every hockey players dream is to see their name on that bad boy, REACT TO THE CODE OF HOCKEY NEXT PLEASE ! 💪
Lord Stanley from London, England first donated the Stanley Cup in 1892 and it's still the original cup.
playoff hockey is electric. even tho the lightning beat us in the ECF, the playoffs this year was the most fun ive had watching sports since like 2017
Also, as far as Colorado goes, it's more known for being along the Rocky Mountains and a lot of places (including Denver where the Avs play out of) are at elevation (Denver is known as the Mile High City and thats fairly accurate. So winters tend to be colder but summers can also get up there. But there really is a lot of climate variance (temperate zone I think is the term) depending on what part of the state you are in and when.
I'm a lifelong Bolts fan and it has been unreal for us lately. Couldn't be more proud of them.
This game was one of the most intense, hard-fought sporting events I've witnessed. My wife and I are not typically hockey fans, but we were glued to the screen.
Happy canadia day bruvs
i ain’t even watch this video yet but i know it’s gonna be a banger W
On average hockey games are more high scoring than soccer. The most common over/under for betting (combined goals) are 5 goals. I guess some people find it more exciting bc the number of shots on goal/scoring chances are a lot higher in hockey than in soccer. Plus there is a lot of legal physical contact. I don't watch soccer other than when national teams are playing each other or Champions League matches. I guess it's similar to how I watch American sports. I'll really only watch my local teams (Philadelphia) play unless the stakes are greater. Such as the playoffs.
"It is true" in my best attempt at Dave's accent, has gotten me some weird looks here in Texas. I love it. 🙂
Colorado had a defensive where every man felt like two men. Everyone who n every line kept the intensity and didn’t let Tampa breathe.
Thanks, fellas. Ice Hockey's been my favorite sport, playing and watching, for 50 years. I thought you might develop a taste for it, what with the similarities to football.
every player on the winning team has their name etched on the cup....true history
The sport is really Canada's sport. That's where it started. It's huge there. But, it's world-wide at this point.
7/1/22, 9:48 p.m.
I think it was the avalanche captain was on a podcast and he was saying the team tried to rent a place downtown Colorado for a party and literally everyone was sold out of alcohol. The entire city literally drank all the bars dry lol
Nice reaction, love your channel. You should react to best nhl dangles and nhl best goalie saves...see both sides of the coin 🪙. Cheers 🍻
You guys should react to Steve Dangle’s dang its (the worst plays, mess ups, whoops) of hockey for that week of games and hat picks (the best plays) of hockey for that week. The videos are all humorous but he breaks plays down and kinda explains things and you see the plays multiple times so it’s easy to follow. I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s a fun way to take in the game
A reaction on top end players' skills would be great
It’s like you alluded to, the Lightning have been good for so long that they beat the Rangers out of the playoffs back in the day. I’m a lightning fan, and while I’m bummed they lost this year, they have been a top team for 10 years, maybe 20 depending on your definition. Since 2015, they’ve been in the Stanley Cup Finals 4 times and tied the all-time league record for most wins in a season, amongst other things. Exciting team to react to if you venture back to hockey again
Fuck Yeah!!! Let's go Avs!!! I was in downtown Denver 21 years ago when the Avs won their last Stanley Cup in game 7 against the Devil's. It was a great time! So many cops in riot gear. This year's team was one of the best teams assembled. Joe Sakic who was one of the star players for the Avs when they won their first two Stanley Cups, who is now the GM, has done a great job turn this team around. They finished dead last in the 16 season I believe, to winning the cup.
React to their championship parade last Thursday back here in Denver 😂
It IS similar to Intl. Football in that a team can dominate play and possession BUT lose 2-1 or 1-0. AND I'm a Yank and I love Intl. Football and American Football.
you called that hook buddy nice eye
A score of 2-1 is on the low end for NHL scoring, so it tends to be higher than football. Another factor is the speed of the game.
you guys should check out some stuff on the red wings "russian five"
You guys should check out some bruins vs Montreal game highlights
Tampa was caught doing some shady thing, like softening the ice to slow down the AV's skaters because they are so quick.
As big as hockey is in America (way more so in Canada), it's still probably only the 4th most watched sport behind baseball/basketball/football.
No, No,No. A Stanley Winning Game highlights does not end until someone raises the Cup.
Check out the best calls by Chris Cuthbert, the man you heard calling this game for Sportsnet.
I think most Americans just don't know what's happening in soccer so it's hard to enjoy. Not understanding the strategy really takes away from the experience. Baseball games can go 3+ hours without a run being scored, but there's the opportunity to score every single at bat. Some of the most exciting games for me are when the pitcher is throwing a no-hitter, when there is essentially as little action and scoring as possible.
I always prefer seats at center ice and enough rows back that you can see over the glass. Just have to stay sharp or you might take a puck to the head.
The NHL is great, but I prefer to watch CHL games (Canadian Junior Hockey). This is the league that mostly feeds the NHL and the kids come from all over the world and are playing to drafted by NHL teams. In my opinion the World Junior Hockey Championship, is the best tournament of the year.
At the arena you want to make sure you are not watching most of the game through the glass on an angle. I prefer row 20 and above otherwise too much of the game is blocked.
The quick and dirty way to get an idea of balance is on the scoring bug, very bottom. Shots made on goal (just says shots on the bug) has a running tally. Funnily enough when the idea that Colorado had more opportunities I immediately looked and they both had the exact number of shots. So it's more the highlights showing more of the Avs chances but in the actual game it was fairly even on opportunity.
Not all shots are a good shot, and something that bounces off the goalpost isn't even counted as a shot. So chances really aren't equivalent to shots on goal.
I would’ve never known who won or even that the Stanley cup was going on if this girl who lives in Colorado hadn’t told me that they won 🤣🤣🤣
should do best goals of the playoffs
If you want to watch a high scoring game, watch game 1 of round 2 of this year’s playoffs between flames and oilers. They scored a combined 15 goals. I’m not a fan of either team and that game was crazy
I'm crying all over again 😭😭 Avs made us Coloradans so fucking proud!!!
Everyone on the Avs get to spend a day with the cup Does the EPL have a similar tradition
You guys should’ve waited until Colorado got the cup it’s the best part
2-1 is a below average score in hockey. The average NHL game is more like 4-2.
Hockey is not as big in the US as you think, it’s the 4th maybe even 5th most popular sport. It’s bigger in the northeast more than anywhere. But to your point it’s way more fast paced than soccer. They’re skating 20 mph (32 km)
You guys should react to the nba finals
Please React on KGF Chapter 2 teaser, trailer and monster song.
It's the biggest blockbuster of this year and has more box office collections than batman.
low scoring in hockey still has lots of shots on goal and plenty of checks and the speed of the game. I'm an NFL fanatic but nothing compares to NHL playoff intensity.
Do some more hockey videos Boys
Watch Fight Night at the Joe. Avalanche vs. Red Wings in the greatest brawl in NHL history!!!
Should watch the presentation of the cup
Go Avalanche!
I believe the trophy in the EIHL is the challenge cup. Not 100% though.
There’s a league trophy too I think that’s separate from that.
For a team that were very close to being knocked out in the first round. As back to back champions....
(So getting hate for that. But Leafs should have won that series..)
They redeemed themselves and almost went all the way again.
Can u guys do a reaction to the great one Wayne Gretzky
Y’all should watch all of colorados goals in the 2022 playoffs
I had Colorado as the dark horse of the playoffs, when seeing TSN's predictions they were voted to lose the first round lol. But they are a stacked team, up against a legacy of winning in Tampa.
Tf are you talking about lmao the Avs we’re had the best odds to win the cup since the start of the season
@@MegaHockeyman2 Hey, I know TSN is Toronto biased but I was just saying their poll said they'd be knocked out in the 1st round with a 60/40 split. Just saying. But you're right, they were dominant all season long so it seemed kinda weird that they were sleeping on them.
Let's Go Pens!
The Stanley Cup IS the oldest trophy in sports
You guys should check out, Conor Mcdavid highlights, he is hockey’s Messi.
You should watch the presentation and raising of the Stanley Cup. There's no better looking trophy in the world.
the oldest Cup in North America
Have the family guy videos been deleted

The Colorado Avalanche are my favorite team and I have to buy Championship gear lol
This happens what? 2 weeks ago now? Way to stay current boys lol
It was 5 days ago lmao

Watch nhl mic’d up Stanley cup finals
Most of their games had more scoring….colorado won 7-4 in a game during series (or score liked like that) …i think this was the lowest scoring in series
Colorado beat Tampa 7-0 in Game 2.
@@peterpike right on! That would be 49 points in a football game…56 if they had extra points 🙃
