Why am I getting flashbacks to AHH and Emp's stream? Oh right.
Wolv022 libertarian/Socialist a contradiction of terms.
@@alicemoore2036 Something that is Libertarian is something which minimizes state interference in personal matters and maximizes personal autonomy and freedom. Socialism is, broadly, the destruction of private ownership of the means of production, such as factories, raw materials, and tools. In the case of libertarian socialism, this means minimal government control socially and politically, while also making the "means of production" publicly owned, or at least owned by the workers who use them to create the goods and services that make the "means of production" have any sort of value.

As a turk, I appreciate how you showed the past of turkey, however you did miss out a few details.
Many Turks don't like PKK not just because of Turks hating Kurds (a "small" group do) but because the PKK was known famously for killing Turkish and Kurdish civilians in its goal. The ends werent universally hated, but the means certainly were. Also communism is BIG no no in Turkey (see 1980 turkish coup) so thats 2 things turkey doesn't like mixed together.
Erdogan, being an authoritarian leader who did everything to stay in power (like shutting off powers in cities to stiffle political leaders speeches during the time right before the election), feared a free Kurdistan and attacked to make a safe zone, Many Turks, tired of thousands of refugees and PKK bombings and killings, just wanted to be over which is why many will support this.
Overall I do appreciate that you went through with this video, its unbiased compared to most takes on the conflict and didn't just scream "they did to armenia so they will do it to em kurds" (yes turks are aware of the genocide, just that many nationalists will REE about it not happening tho)

1. The new turkey boarders including kurds inside was not a partition grab, those were originally ottoman borders.
2. The kurds rebelled against turkey some 5 times, last one in 1938 agaisnt the new turksih republic. More importantly they opposed ataturks new liberal and democratic policies and his abolishon of the calpihate. In essence they fought to keep turkey as it was. That's.. actually very true.
Most of the turkish population don't know alot about history (nor does most of the world). I, for example, always thought that kurds hated us, and that they would do anything for an independent state.
But, as history shows us, it is the actions that the government takes to a certain ethnicity that angers the ethnicity.
In my opinion, a ruler with an iron fist like Mustafa kemal (founder of turkey) is what we as a nation needed. As you might now, turkey was basically a shithole in the early years, but quick modernization efforts and industrial efforts brought it to how it was today. Mustafa kemal is a human, he does mistakes, so do we.
He certaintly was more agressive on other ethnicities living in the new republic of Turkey, but you have to realise that Turkey was a very new, destabilized nation. Rebellions or revolts must be avoided in order to keep turkey as 1 nation. Ofcourse opressing the Kurds that hard was unjustifiable.
However, the leaders after him kept pressing more on the kurds, which caused the creation of the terrorist organization, the PKK.
the PKK terrorized the turkish people in order to get an independent state, our government had shut this down.
Now you see a semi autonomous state right under turkey, which could influence other kurds to get independence aswell.
So this semi autonomous state is helping Kurdish organizations with some goods, but they aren't terrorizing the turks.
My people, and others around the world barely know history, so we shift blame to the kurds, about them terrorizing our population.
Why couldnt turkey guve independence to kurds, bcz turkey president advocate for the same else where in the world... He seems not intrested in walking the talk..!!..

Lord Irony I’m still hoping for a Vampire Lincoln.
not gonna side with either poles here.. but I think you need to look at the situation more closely.. you have missed many important context information that basically answers all of your questions.. i'll lay them out in a few bullet points:
1- Turkey called Trump to inform him that the vast majority of Turkish parliament (conservatives, liberals and centrists) has approved and is pushing for a full scale military campaign against all PKK affiliated groups that are within 20km of the Turkish border (and is expected to happen very soon).. in the call they stated that they will be careful not to get too close to American soldiers but cannot guarantee they won't.. The PKK is recognized by the US and EU as a terrorist organization (for decades).. and admittedly in congregational hearings, many defense secretaries and military officials testified that the YPG is a branch of the PKK and takes orders from them, and have been re-branded as the SDF to help the US fight ISIS, in exchange for their help they would be granted rule of all captured territories.. So Trump was advised to avoid this type of confrontation as it is meaningless for the US.. risking war with the 2nd largest army in NATO (threatening the future of NATO as a union) would be a very foolish move considering that the YPG are essentially a terrorist organization.. this same scenario happened with the Free Syrian Army (the Arabs who revolted against Assad), which the US funded and then later abandoned in 2016 (for the Russians to pick off).. we didn't see any outrage then.. it was not mainstream enough to trigger large-scale media coverage..
2- Trump's decision did not incentivize Turkey to move in.. it was planned for over a year.. and Turkey had already conducted a similar campaign last Year in Afrin.. another YPG controlled territory.. we did not see any outrage back then.
3- Separatism is censored by almost all states on this earth.. if a separatist movement in Texas for example would arise calling for secession, it would automatically be combated by the Federal Government.. Spain is a good example on how states brutally combat separatism.. if the Catalan movement would start an armed revolt they would be met with even worse suppression tactics than we see today in Turkey..
4- Turkey's campaign was not based on fear of a Kurdish state.. they have never been in conflict with Iraqi or Iranian Kurds.. Turkey's campaign was a response to multiple terrorist attacks on border towns that has left hundreds of deaths.. during the last 3-4 decades, Turkey has lost over 40'000 civilians to PKK and YPG terrorist bombings, and we (as in the US Government) have recognized that these are terrorist attacks..
5- The death of SDF politicians was not conducted by Turkey, rather the National rebel forces, whom we funded before.. Turkey should be condemned however for maintaining their support to them.. what they did was unforgivable..
6- The Rojava's military wings (YPG) have also been condemned internationally for violating multiple human rights.. these include: Bombing villages with Zero military value, Forced recruiting of Syrian Villagers, Forced Recruiting of Children (unprecedented numbers), Torturing forced recruits who desert the YPG, and also stealing homes and shops from Syrians and claiming them for the YPG.. These accusations have been made by the UN, Amnesty International and HRW..
7- The YPG (Rojava's military wing) consist of a non-syrian majority, the group is an amalgam of kurds from Syria, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Armenia & some parts of the Balkans.
8- The Turkish assault has ended now following a Trilateral deal with the US and Russia.. and up until today, over 100'000 Syrian refugees have been resettled back into the safe zone under the supervision of the UN.. according to the UN Security Council, the Turkish assault has wielded minimal civilian casualties compared to almost every other military campaign conducted by NATO.. Turkey has already declared a "soft" victory, which they have put out temporarily until the safe zone is fully established..
9- Once the 20km border is established Turkey is banned by the US & NATO from ever intervening in the affairs of Syrian-Based Kurdish groups.. this was part of the trilateral agreement..
*** Hopes this clears things out for you.
If you need sources for any of these bits of information, let me know and i'll provide links.

seriously fuck the US, fuck the Rojava, fuck the PKK, fuck turkey, fuck Putin, fuck Assad and fuck the rebel offshoots. we only supported the early FSA, their members were ex-military who trained local fighters. until the US, britain and russia stuck their nose in this we were fine, but then they got divided after saudi arabia funded the religious fanatics and russia funded the nationalists. and then uncle sam came and funded the communists. everyone wanted a piece of the cake, and over a million civilians died in the process.

Here's a question: why should we spend our blood and treasure on preventing wars between Middle Eastern states? And just in case you say 'oil', we got plenty here at home, beneath our own land.
Odd how those who speak of the "evils of colonialism" would then turn and say we should continue in the role of regional babysitter.
