Aesthetics, music and lore of the Night Elfs are amazing, but every victory is an empty shell, if Tyrande and Malfurion were removed from last 3 expansions, nothing in the story would change. I hope in dragonflight Blizzard return the former glory of the savage night elfs

What power up did the Night warrior exactly do?
Thanks for this fantastic recap! I have been Horde for so long (since BC gave us Blood Elves) and wanted to return to my original race, Night Elf, for the heritage quest and to be ready for the new world tree content. This is precisely the motivation I need to get the NElf leveled!
What this sequence really reminded everyone of is the the Night Elves are not a bunch of peaceful tree huggers. They are an empire that challenged the might of both the Aliiance and the Horde during the 3rd War and the descendants of the primary force that held the line against the Burning Legion during their first incursion and were coming up almost even with only a minor assistance from the other races of Kalimdor such as the Tauren and some Earthen(IIRC). They are savage, merciless fighters backed by the strength of nature and the love and power of an actual goddess.

Btw, a little "trivia/easter egg" for those who are curious: In Warcraft 3, every hero had 3 basic skills to develop and a sort of iconic ultimate skill. Tyrande had "starfall", Malfurion had "tranquility"... And Maiev had one (iirc) that turned you into a big shadow avatar. I think that's somewhat where the inspiration for the Tyrande's ritual and new form came from.

The idea that Nathanos could last even 2 seconds in a fight vs a 10-20 thousand year old, 7 foot tall warrior priestess, even WITHOUT the night warrior blessing, is laughable. Or that he could fight the world's oldest and most powerful druid, honed for 10 thousand years in the Emerald Dream. Both are literal demigods and Nathanos is a self insert zombie fuckboy.
Agree , Blizzard lowki be trashing Alliance humans, Lightforge , Night Elves , Scarlet Crusader randomly take over Gilneas , when SM has better potential than that , Lightforge Dreani were turn into the Spanish Inquisition in the Mag Har storyline and we'll look what Blizzard did to the NE, Warcraft 3 Night Elves we're bada$$ tree huggers , Dragon Flight Night Elves are just tree huggers .
Man, I feel like Malfurion got nerfed so hard in the games. I get they had to bring his power level into a reasonable place but this is/was kinda lame in comparison to how powerful he was early on. I'll never forget reading how he summoned a hurricane on land and effectively turned the entire landscape into a roiling sea of earth and stone - nearly killed the entire NE army during the initial battle with the Legion because of how upset he was.
