We bought the 2021.5 Atlas SEL because of interior space and quiet ride. We would have gladly bought another Highlander but that third row is unusable for anyone but small children. We regularly have adults in the third row with our Atlas with captains chairs. Access is great and the available legroom means you can use it for long trips for adults as well. The third row is limited to two, however. While that limits hauling 7 in a pinch, it means more comfort for those back there. I will take that compromise any day. The Pilot was okay but looked and felt dated. We also tried to look at Palisade (unavailable) and Telluride (too much over MSRP). At the end of the day, we love our Atlas and have no regrets.
