Carey, thanks so much for this interview. I can't tell you how helpful I've found it.

A very “tasky” discussion with not much dialogue about people. Maybe because people interactions are often not productive or efficient? I once worked with a president who was introducing new values for the organization like productivity and efficiency. I challenged him that we didn’t have a value of effectiveness, doing the “right thing” well. The problem with effectiveness is that often it is often someone else who decides if we are effective - a customer, a child, God. I felt that this interview was missing these “other people” issues of life.

As a pastor I ended up getting a work phone and personal phone so I am able to unplug from work texts and emails during non work hour’s. $30 a month is worth being able to engage my family. I am able to check it from time to time but if there is an emergency someone will find a way to find me.
