This is what I walked into in GP, alberta in 1996. It was perfect. It was the next level of spiritual maturity, of truly walking with God. The greater the freedom in your walk with God, which was the goal and point, the more fruit and biblical morality became the byproduct
Yes and wow!!!! Thank you so much for this John Mark and Carey! I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to get all the people I love to listen to this🙌🙏🤙😊
WOWED by your interview with JMC. You bill your show as a place to learn leadership, however I am not in any position of leadership, but I came away understanding so much more about discipleship. Feeling excited to practice discipleship in light of this new understanding. Thanks so much, you have blessed me.
Hi Linda, You do an an impact we all our leaders in our own way. If you have kids, friends, siblings, people at work, you are a leader in the sense that you have an impact on their lives. 🥰🫶🏼
Many years ago, I wanted to write a book called, “Sharks, Whores and Headhunters”, but because the enemy has a chameleon persona, the labels are too limiting. Thanks for writing this book! ❤
God knows how we are made and what satisfies us, and we most feel alive and in harmony with ourselves is when we are imitating christ, therefore committing sin, is the opposite of that and it is not something that will leave us feeling happy or satisfied rather guilty, broken and distressed. And when we crave sin, it is coming from a selfish place ... meaning insecure broken place that needs healing with Gods love and a consciousness of his desire and acceptance of you.
JM you weren’t rambling at all around maker 49. I am glad you didn’t edit the deconstruction explanation. I learned a lot and would love to hear more on this topic and how it is just trading one power for another.
Hearing such male perspectives on desire helps me understand how some of the weird rules of Christianity formed (i.e., the church as an organization). On the other hand, it also reinforces positive change that Jesus as a prophet brought to the world.
2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me- 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”’? 35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came-and Scripture cannot be set aside- 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? 37 Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father. 38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” 42 And in that place many believed in Jesus. - JOHN 10
He IS thoughtful and concise! Thank you for sharing JMC.
So much wisdom, so much needed by the Church in England today.
"This is the kind of conversation I long to have...I long for the church to have" ... Amen! Fascinating!
JMC exudes a kindness that is admirable. I”m inspired and challenged to follow Jesus more deeply after watching this interview.
Pastoring isnt about coercion and control, its about example and invitation (1:16:20), brilliant.
Taking the church to business, and taking business to the church. Great mission. Thank you!

Thank you for speaking to the topic about demonic thought needing redirection to scripture ,o:-)

It’s really interesting to hear this podcast after listening to your most recent podcast with the same guest. 😢
After hearing the Foucault section, he said “we’d be stronger as a church.” Premium irony.
“Obedience to Jesus” is itself power-knowledge.
Truth.
Very helpful
