@@Singers_vocals_showcase she is a pop singer! Actually there's not a "how she should sound". Also, very rarely you will find a soprano that hits the 2nd octave. Besides that, she also does not start to belt at the G4/G#4. Instead, it starts at the F4 zone, another mezzo characteristic. @misouza2766this isn’t really fair… Taylor is a decent singer and great composer and she plays the piano and the guitar as well… Whitney didn’t play instruments (at least not in her performances) and she didn’t write her songs (maybe with a few exceptions), even though she was an exeptional singer… everybody praises Whitney for her singing ability and rightfully so (she was a singer and an incredible one, she didn’t have to do everything), but Taylor should also receive the same credit for being a singer, a songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist… she’s a truly versatile artist and even though she may be not a vocal technician at least she sings live and overall she delivers good vocal performances… she knows her limits and her singing style fits her songs… she could benefit from having a more developed singing technique, just like Whitney could have benefited from being more involved in her songwriting process, but at the end of the day it’s not a necessity… her artistry is about singing and songwriting and she does it well, Whitney was a vocalist and she did it well, they both deserve their flowers
@misouza2766 Taylor is actually one of the best songwriters in mainstream pop music… of course you can’t compare her to Mozart, but in her genre she is actually a brilliant songwriter and the proof is that there are millions of people who relate to her songs and every one of her records is critically acclaimed. She writes basically 100% of her songs, either by herself or with the help of other co-writers. That’s remarkable. She can emote millions of people with her lyrics, her melodies, her voice and her piano/guitar playing. The proof is the sheer success that she is enduring, with her last tour being the best selling tour ever by a female artist. Whitney emoted through her sheer vocal brilliance and she had many fans, Taylor emotes her fans through her songwriting, singing and instruments playing. They both have their strenghts and their fanbases that relate to their music. Saying that Whitney was one of the “best voices in the planet” while Taylor is not one of the best composers on the planet is unfair, because 1)Taylor is one of the best songwriters in pop mainstreams, with a nack for catchy melodies and clever lyrics 2) Taylor is literally the better all-around musician compared to Whitney, because, as exeptional as Whitney was, Taylor doesn’t just sing, but she also plays instruments and writes songs and yet people criticise her because her singing is not technically perfect even if it’s just a part of her artistry and it’s perfectly adequate for her songs, while nobody criticises Whitney for focusing only on singing… this is called a double standard. They both had strenghts and weaknesses but one gets glorified while the other is scrutinised for every imperfection
People put to much emphasis on the ability to belt, but Taylor's low range is one of the most impressive out there and her ability to show emotion is unique
The ability to show emotion is subjective unlike her non-existent belting skills. Her lows are just good. To consider them 'the most impressive out there' simply shows you do not really listen to other artists.

She is below average and get YOUR ears checked. 😂 She has 1 good octave in her voice, E3-A4. Anything below or above that is unsupported, lowering the larynx to hit lows and pushing too much to hit the highs. There is no resonance. If she played the guitar or the piano the way she sings, she would not have a career.
