- Let's use Hexagon to create a morph that puts Milica's hair under her Santa hat!
I hope you enjoy!

That was very good and very well explained, thank you very much Sir.
So far I have been able to solve this exact problem with the Mesh Grabber but I like this method better, it is more precise.
I wish you happy holidays and thank you for all the good tutorials in the past year... 👍👌🎄
Sometime Mesh Grabber deals with hair well and other times it doesn't. I have a love/hate relationship with Mesh Grabber!
Fantastic, going to give this a go, I used to use deformers and the geometry tool to do this job, didn't even think to use hexagon.
Wish Daz would do an update to hexagon to add a rotate around a selected point, like in ds.
Merry Christmas and a happy New year to you, Ty for the videos. Top work.
Thanks for the tips! I've never had a lot of luck with hair a deformers but I'll play with it a little more.
Ah! Brilliant! This has always been a PITA problem with hats and hair.
Haha! Thanks! It's not a perfect fix for hair, but it works pretty well!
The final render shows the reason for fixing it all the way around. You'll never know whether there is a reflection looming if you work on the scene. 😎
I'm still pondering whether using a deformer inside the hat could do the job; so many ideas, so little time. Merry Christmas, BTW.
@@ErikMKeller Very good point there! I got lazy and didn't finish.
@@notfromthisworld7672 that happens to the best of us (you are one, btw).
That's the reason I always make sure that moveable objects in a scene work when viewed from all sides. Makes reusing them much easier.
Awesome tip. Hair posing is actually one of my worst enemies. LOL
I hate hair! I sometimes avoid using particular hair because it won't pose.
I've avoided using hats for this exact reason. It's such a pain in the ass to hide the poke through using any method. 😭
Well, hopefully this can help!
Daz has never been good at dealing with hair and adding a hat to it makes it even worse. I've tried several methods when working with hair but you're always pretty limited because it's very easy to end up with bald spots all over the head that will show even lower down than the hat. Finding good hair for Daz is hard work, some products are better than others but none of it is great. Thanks for Hexagon tip, I'll try this one next time I need to mess with some hair.
I've always struggled with hair. Hexagon is a method that certainly helps.
Thank you for these videos. Hair drives me absolutely nuts. I hate seeing a great promo image from like a bundle that comes with hair and a hat and when I try to recreate it, the hair poke through is insane. I keep trying to use Hat and Hair Helper and I have not had any luck using it without creating massive bald spots in the visible areas of the character's head. I've tried following tutorials about deleting hair geometry, but that has the same issue with creating bald spots. I know this method you've shown here moves the hair around, so there's also potential for funky spots, but it looks a hell of a lot better.
For the life of me, I cannot understand how Daz has not done anything to make this issue better. I almost always just end up getting so frustrated that I delete the hat instead.
Hair has always been a big issue for me as well. Trying to pose hair when the character is in a different position, let's say with her head down or if she is upside down is always a huge issue. Many times I re-adjust the pose just because I can't pose the hair the way I want to.
Could you please send me the poses from Milica and Nulpi? I would have good use of it in one of my own projects
They are custom poses I created so I'd need to save them, but yes... I can do that!
I know it is a bit of work, but maybe you could make a playlist of your Hexagon videos to make finding them easier.
That is a great idea. I'll look into creating a playlist for Hexagon and GIMP!
Where can I see your work?
I advertise around on some adult sites but mostly sell my work directly. Look for my name is Subscribstar.adult.
hi friend.
it's a nice video!
but there is one more trick, using the timeline...but it's more complicated.
i can give you instructions.
I'd love to know more tricks! Thanks!
I, don't like Hexagon. I would do the same thing with Blender.
That's awesome. I know Blender will do this type of work as well. I like hexagon because it is so easily tied to Daz Studio and is easy to use. I struggle with Blender. I was getting the hang of it a while back but then an update occurred and a bunch of stuff changed.
