If Jagex wants to catch the bots EARLY before they do any actual damage, why don't they put an in game authentication test in tutorial island? And to make the test bot proof, they should completely change the test every day or so. This would make it impossible for a botter to develop a bot that could get through it. Seems like itd work to me

@@devonchipman6850 it's impossible for anything to be "bot proof" ignoring that, a botter could easily do the test himself because to not interfere with normal players the test probably wouldn't take longer than 10-20 seconds. most botters (unless they're suicide botting or mass botting) do tutorial island and certain quests manually anyways.
Can I just say I really like how the anti-cheating team at Jagex is being more up front with you regarding the inventories and information of numbers of bots banned? Really awesome to see.

please look into the zulrah mystic bots.The rune boot barrow bots yes glad you covered them. Most have over 5-10k kc. But now I'm seeing the same ppl and gear setup with a much lower kc. So i think they are making new ones.

Imagine if jagex shadow banned mules. Essentially mules could accept wealth but couldn't trade it on.
No GE, no droptrading, no selling to stores etc. You could literally mule for a couple of days without noticing.
Ofc this could be countered by just trading back a stick to your bots but i think it's a neat idea. Needs to be more flushed out in order to be effective
They should shadow ban the bots too. So you can still trade between mule and bot but can't get it to a non-shadow-banned acc

@@maxcamargo151 because the whole point of bots being banned is to confiscate wealth to not dilute the economy, shadowbanning gives a bigger impact since for example someone could have items worth max cash stack, once they wanna trade it on G.E so they can get the money, they will realize, they cant. Wasting their time.

If the PP bots have such a short lifetime, it might be feasible to stop them just by re-balancing the scepter drop rates from the chests, making it far rarer from earlier chests but more common from the later ones, which should probably have been the case to begin with as it's a little strange that it's a flat rate in every room

He is a video journalist, not an AI Engineer. To be able to automatically detect and ban bots at an efficient rate requires a lot of technical knowledge.
Imagine how many hours he has spent just on this one single one. And this botter could potentially be running more methods - This would just be one of them.
Jagex is focused on AI and automatically detecting bots as Xavier mentioned.
Look at how many bots get killed during the bot killing events and compare it to that, and you will see that Sir Pugger is not really that effective. But he helps normal people understand how all of it works, which serves a whole other purpose than just getting bots banned.
Sir Pugger would lose his autonomy if he were a Jagex employee. He couldn't talk about the botting problem if he worked for Jagex. As an independent member of the press, he has relative freedom to pursue leads and vocalise his concerns without corporate oversight.
It'd be interesting if you broke down the absolute maximum the red spider egg farm could make. I.e respawn time per spawn per world.

There's a ton of level 120 bots at east green drags right now. Some with 20m+ att/str/def. Jagex is just letting it happen.

@@xalzor740 i was there 2 days ago and seen multiple lvl120s some with 20m xp. Suppose they could be golf farmers but I just don't see how thats the most efficient money making method. They also very low skill stats.

Hey, SirPugger you probs will never read this but you should ask Jagex if they have ever considered adding a trading log it seems like for the majority of bot farms this would greatly damage offloading items. It would also allow them to find gold purchasers more easily.
Instead of the plaguing issues this game is facing: Botting out of control, RWT out of control, Duel Arena is out of control, No updates to the main game that are worthy since 2018, they focus on DMM, PvP Tournaments, Leagues and let the main game go to hell in a hand basket and it's pathetically sad.
If only they focused on pvp rofl leagues is for nerds and dmm hasn't been updated for so long dmm is the best thing to happen to osrs they jus gotta get rid of bots and make bosses harder and add the death mechanics back

Check out the massive master farmer bot farm at Draynor, more than 500 there, 3+ per world, some have over 50m xp in thieving which is over 400 hours; they are not being banned often. This is worth investigating especially since it is like 600k-1m gp/h and there are so many of them, this is potentially one of the most lucrative bot farms out there.
why not just limit pyramid plunder access, make it so you cant actually enter it before you have been member for +7days.

Party room f2p has a bot farm all the bots are lvl3 following eachother poping blooms, same with the xp fishing spot on f2p bots just looting dropped fish all day
Check out the mining bots in mlm there are so many some have like 108+ mining so its as if mining bots are just free to bot, they all have full mining outfit wear nothing but a skills neck and are to low level to wield a pickaxe but use a rune pickaxe at level 100+ mining. Theres like at least 2 of these bots online at all times on every world at mlm.
I see them then hate my life because I'm actually doing mlm legit and it sucks

Hmmm... Is OSRS currently in a bot apocalyplse, I find it quite special as TF2 is in a bot crisis. It mustn’t be a coincidence is it? The difference is that Valve isn’t active as much as Jagex for fighting bots... Could this mean that gaming has a much broader, more general, bot apocalypse!? Though this is a tin foil hat theory it is somewhat supported by a few events and facts.

Jagex needs the bots to be slowly detected. If they are detected too quickly the botters would slow down. Less profits for Jagex because the game is dying anyway. Ironman was a great last ditch effort which basically became a death struggle and moved to Leagues. I doubt Jagex themselves have a hand in it per say, more likely that a few people in the company have gone more or less rogue to up their personal profits. Wouldn't be the first time it has happened in their company.

Please talk to Jager about the hugeeeeeee zulrah bot farm its on ever single world there are some with over 10k zulrah kills and all around 500 total level I love zulrah and am actually working on a loot tab from 5k zulrah kills its a bad feeling knowing these bots are here 24 hours a day to what used to be a somewhat challenging boss please thumbs up my comment so he can see this

My best guess is that the massive increase of large bot farms are a result of the rev caves nerf.
They're probably (also based on the names) Venezuelan bot farms, possibly made by the people who were of the smarter OSRS players in their rev protection clans now that they've mostly dissolved.

So y'know how pmods can mute people? Reform the pmod program, vet some new people, and give them the ability to trade ban people. Bot can't do shit if it's suddenly a psuedo ironman. Just lock some of these super low level bot activities behind achievement diaries? IE you need to do desert medium diary to receive a pharohs sceptre? Require the easy Koreund diary to enter the forthos dungeon? it's really not that hard.

This game community is funny as hell. Everyone of you keep dissing those bots, but:
1. You keep buying milions of resources to keep training your skills, and it is clearly obvious that you can buy such big amounts with such low prices only because of botting, but it seems like this do not bother you, right? Start farming everything you need if you are so anti-bot.
2. You go to the wildy ESSPECIALLY for bot hunts, and you keep killing tens of them, picking all of the botted items and you use them or sell them for profit. XD?
This game is so dead without bots. GE would be dead of basic materials with no bots. Not even mentioning that you are already at no-return point, because there is so many bots that you can't do anything with it. If you log to the game as new player to the free world then AT LEAST 90% players you meet on farming spots are bots.
too bad it literally never works like this. this is a nice fluff piece for jagex but I've sent them countless emails about obvious bot farms and nothing gets done. jagex just wants to look good in these videos.

It’s great these bots are getting rid of, but what disappoints me is that jagex will obviously not get rid of all bots completely because of the membership income, it’s such a big percentage of players that bot that surely they wouldn’t ban everyone single bot they find right? Go see the gnome stronghold first floor!! Every world there are multiple low level accounts all buying supplies from gnome cooking shops for 4-5gp each. Such as vodka, rum, oranges, pineapples, lime.... These items are selling for 50-100gp each on the grand exchange!! Definitely something suspicious.

Mate, not sure if you know already or what the purpose/extent is, but hop on to world 525 and check the bots (I think) going to Zaff (Varrock Staves Store). They're not botting the battlestaves (from de AD) as far as I know. It's another deal. Almost no stats except for like 30 runecrafting. Maybe they're making elemental staves? IDK. If u could check it...
To the people complaining about why their specific bot farms aren't banned instantly: Think of it this way: How many different bot farm are there ? IF Jagex is banning at least 1k accounts from just 1 FARM you could imagine how taxing it is for them to ban so many accounts from so many different bot farms DAILY. I'd love to see some inclusive information regarding the bans surrounding ALL bot farm bans/day. The Bot Busting Team is only 9 strong i think ?
So Jagex does not exercise data protection I take it? considering they tell you all about the account down to past offenses, items on the account, etc?
Those bots at barrows have been there since as early as February this year. I remember when I was getting my kc up for barrows I saw them there every day.
My comment will probably not get read, but I just wanted to say. This is not the only thing these 'Level 9 bots' are farming. I found that if you sit outside of corporal beasts these low level bots occasionally come out wearing an adamant plate body, games necklace, ring of dueling, and a adamant pickaxe. My friend and I got really curious, as we seen many different people with this same loadout, come out of Corporal beast. We did what anyone would have, and started killing them. It seems they were actually running full inventories of Pure Essence. Nothing too valuable, but the kicker was, every time we killed one of these bots, they came back (sometimes with-in 30sec or less!) and they would already have the platebody, pickaxe, and full inventory of essence. At a point, we actually felt that it had to be impossible for them to come back so quickly, but there they were..
I got my account hacked the other day and they sold and took everything. I had the account hacked before, then was advised to get two step Authenticator and bank pin however they have took everything 3 months later. How did they hack me? How did they know my pin as it is still on the account? I’m gutted about losing my stuff only about 20M but months of membership paid. I just want to know if I play again will I get hacked again or what? Should I start again? PLEASE HELP
I really don't get Jagex, I made a 10hp slayer helm 99mage range pure, spent tons of hours & money on members (irl cash) and I botted 10 firemaking lvls once, and got banned. These guys get warnings for days and bot even 200m exp... wtf? Jagex.. jamflex
