Its a lovely gti mate ,bet you will be sad to see it go . I have a 3dr mk4 golf gti that I've owned for 21 years and still love it . I'm running a k03 hybrid turbo on mine, around 300bhp . Its also been featured on UA-cam channel pssound, as i have expensive sound quality audio system.
@@ajrveedub yeah thanks bro, I have been wondering for the past week or so how to do it. I am running a k03 hybrid at the moment and was looking for the best option, OEM look and so on. Thanks for your help. Definitely made me subscribe. Cheers.
@КонстантинСимеонов-д6б yes along with the larger MAF on the turbo inlet. I cut a larger hole in the airbox and stuck the MAF housing in it. Makes it look OEM.
Hey mate fellow Aussie here. Just found your channel as I've been looking for a MK4 gti as a project car. I was planning on building the motor and putting a big turbo on it (not K04) but something bigger like a GTX gen 2 turbo, but have since learned that the AGU m.3.8.3 ecu is problematic. Is it still possible to make 350whp (or more) on this ecu using the method on your other video? How can the car be tuned? Or is it best to go stand alone ecu like Haltech? But I still want the car to retain all its functions as it will be a daily driver and not a track car. Its so cheap for a second hand Mk4 GTI now but I don't want ridiculous cost blow outs either. Any advice? Or should I find another more straight forward project? But I really like how these cars look. Great channel btw!
@@JohnWilliam-m8s hey there! Yes I agree I love the MK4 shape. You could go big turbo but the problem is the MAF will max out as soon as it hits boost. Our sensors can only see 187g/s. That means youl need to find someone I'm Australia who can tune it which is rare. You could upgrade the ecu to me7.5 but then you'll still run into tuner issues. I would recommend standalone but as I've not used any I can't recommend any! It's also worth talking to Quattro motor sports I'm NSW to see if they could do it. They are the last company In Australia that still writes tunes.
@ajrveedub Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was reading about the me7.5 conversion on the old forums. Litos GTI thread. I was looking at a donor A3 (like 2001 model) with 1.8T. They have the AGU motor according to carsales but I assume they have the DBW and not the DBC like the AGU in the GTI? Good news is I saw a couple for like $4000. But yeah buying a whole car just to get a few parts seems extreme. Then I've gotta work out how to make it all work. Certainly quite the project! I also looked at importing a non AGU gti from the UK.....but idk if it's worth it. Have to weigh it all up! Was also looking at the Audi S3 8P which looks similar but probably more of a money pit. Anyway just putting a few ideas out there. Thanks for the reply! 😊
Insane build. Your turbo swap video was so detailed and helped me so much. k04 in mine as well and its so much better now

Hey mate, really cool build you have. Can you share how you managed to fit the larger MAF sensor housing?
my inlet from the turbo fits a 3 inch maf size, I also got it on the 2.75inch agu maf by using lots of force haha
@ Yeah, I was wondering if i could fit it on the stock inlet. And what inlet did you use afterwards.
@@КонстантинСимеонов-д6б since I ran a k04 023 I used a silicone inlet hose for an S3 or TT from eBay
