Hello Ray, I think your Tonic app is excellent. My daughters (young violinists) and myself (bandoneonist-to-be) are all using it. We are all big fans of yours. You play extremely well yet you are so humble and kind. Last but not least, you are really a fun person. We love watching your videos. I would just like to suggest an additional feature to your Tonic app. How about letting users give online concerts (5 or more minutes) to play pieces they have to do in real life to train to calm their nerves while performing? A user can announce their performance with their program 24 hours or more in advance. And, there will be a list of performances (with info such as the performer’s name and the duration of the concert) for users to choose from when they log in. Just like the practice room, users get credits for giving concerts and attending concerts. I am personally more inclined to let people hear my “well-prepared” concerts. I would also add a section for private feedback. Just a little idea for you to consider. :)
i like how everyone just wow she so good bc they know nothing about the instructment and this guy can pinpoint exactly what's wrong with her and expose her. it shows how shallow they are. just say everything is great good amazing
@cupidok2768 they’re judges in a talent show. I don’t know what their backgrounds are but they’re not going to be experts at every kind of talent. Pretty shallow of you if you can’t even understand that.
Ray is nice to them and twoset violin is like that one very strict music teacher who will point out anything. Anyways, I still always love it when Ray posts!
There is a difference between the time period. Got Talent wouldn't have changed if not for Twoset. Remember when they were booing classical pieces so they can turn it into a pop music with cheap monotone version and when they simply start stripping? Notice that Twoset was praising the recorder player right off the bat because they recognize the hard work.
Living in Germany, I found many amateur orchestras adults could join. This isn’t really a thing where I live now in the United States, and I don’t think it’s very common in most parts of the world. I think it should more common-so adults who play music but are not professional musicians don’t have to lose touch with their instrument!
Yes, I'm sure they memorized it. This reminds me very much of my marching band days, honestly. We learned two new shows a week, all memorized. It's not as hard as you might think.
Ray’s comments were just so professional and honest!! He had been so generous 😁. In fact, those participants performing instruments should participates in real, authentic music competitions to get their abilities judged and valued, not in such an occasion. The judges in this show were meant to be kind and encouraging!!
Hi Ray, Thank you for making music so fun! Also huge thank you for creating Tonic. I've been encouraging all my students to use it. Even as an adult professional I'm finding it a lot of fun.
Damn the youth orchestra one goes hard. Also glad the Ember Trio guys go hard too because they are really amazing and hey, get some cello love. Emil and Dario doing their rock cello thing got absolutely humiliated by Simon and I still feel that.
When Ray said "polyphony" and Tim popped up I lost it!... I screamed in my head "OMG Ray knows Polyphia!!!" but probably that was editor-san...anyway...RESPECT! 🤘🔥
Hey Ray, have you ever heard the piece ‘the view from dead horse point’? It’s a really a really cool piece that is basically a duet between a musician and a computer. I don’t really know how to describe it but it’s worth checking out
Amanda is a pop singer, Simon is a pop producer and Pier is a journalist. What can we expect from them? Even if David Foster were there, I'm not sure if he could tell what was wrong.
You know I feel like Vivaldi really doesn't deserve to have his work butchered (and the butchering praised) so much and so often. (Rimsky-Korsakov too)
Wow, I always thought of myself as a very mediocre violinist, but listening to the praise for that "Vivaldi," I probably could have been a superstar on Britain's Got Talent.
yeah, he said "kinda cringe because people gotr impressed by this ( music )" and then said " actually not cringe because they have fun". Most people on Got talent bullshit don't actually have good actual taste. So obviously they get impressed easily by any piece of cake of an song that is just impressive at the first shot.
The first girl she does have talent. In terms of being a confident performer. But part of musical talent is also playing with musical integrity, which she does seem like she could learn to do that, I hate that the judges act like this was the best classical music performance though
Hey , just watched a few of your videos after stumbling across one of your performances and I really like they way you do not hold back on voicing your actual opinion but at the same time do it with much grace, we need more honesty in the world, there is no need to be afraid of the truth. A little information since you seem to value music we also need to give credit where its due, that piece you recognized was a sample, the original track is by Chi-Lites "Are you my woman? (Tell me so), allot of todays hits that blow up are based on compositions from way back and like in this particular case not just a minor aspect but make the whole song, hence without the sample the newly arranged song would not exist or wouldn't be that popular .
Forget about contestant 4 being in tune, but the real question is, how the hell does she hold her violin with this fur around her neck. I already have a hard time not missing shifts when I wear something with a collar when I usually dont. Also cudos to Ray. Knowing how much below his standards these performances are and how he got critiqued in his time this is pretty awesome to be so nice.
Ray the "cringy" part of the last contestant, the high chromatic tremolo, in my opinion might be a quotation of the end of the guitar solo in Beat It (Michael Jackson, Thriller).
The thing w the first girl is that she only had one night to prepare...she came with her friend the day before and they told her to come back the next day and thats why even tho her performance wasn't perfect, she literally all that in one night
I think that Americans, in general do not have a huge appreciation for classical music compared to other nations with a longer history. It is sad. Of course my experience is based on what I see on screens, but I know people pay a lot more money to watch a show with a lot of showiness, rather than just music. Other other hand, I admit that orchestral music is not my favorite. I tend to enjoy smaller groups, such as string quartettes, or larger ensembles. The music seems more "pure." Of course my favorite music is acappella, so you might not value my opinion. :-)
Ray should teach the other judges about music since even i heard what ray heard & unbelievable how they told the girl violinist that lost her piano friend best & phenomenal she sucked Hugely..
I think it's the way she presented herself. She was very confident and if you don't play music you prob don't think there's anything wrong. Also it's a show piece as it sounds 'complex.'
With music, nothing is out of tune :) When we need musicians in War, someone playing the violin will be the last and favorite music/noise I want to hear no matter how its played.
Even for a guy like me who never touched violin in life can tell that the first vivaldi girl was totally offtune. 😂 However appreciate her bravery, but judges are a joke.
Did you see what happened with the sound of your duets with Karolina. It was stolen. Did you record the duets? If so can you help them out. People want to see and hear your duets
Professionals 1) always record several copies 2) always back up immediately 3) have sound on the video anyway, in case the microphone fails 4) never leave any important recordings in the car . So everything is safe.
Hello my name is sesame I'm 11 years old can you please do a Q&A for about like people asking questions of your UA-cam channel or your violin or something when you start and stuff like that
My question for the Q&A is do you have any tips for violinists who just started can you show me show me some songs on your UA-cam channel so I have started I played violin since hours free and I'm 11 now and I just started playing I had a rest from violin for about 1 year and 1 month and then I started playing it again and I have lost a bit of confluence was play on stage and stuff so do you have any tips please like I said in the last message my name is sesame I'm from Hull I'm 11 years old and my favourite thing to do is play flute drawer violin and art and also play the ukulele so yeah I love your videos and I hope you see this message bye😂😅❤
The first seemed cringe because the judges were insincere. They could've been honest yet also positive, because there were many good aspects to that performance, it was fun. But then they had to be so over the top with their remarks, that they turned it into something else, which was uncomfortable.
She showed that you can miss notes, in that sort of context, and it's okay as long as you're entertaining and bring the energy. But then the judges, one by one, acted like it was absolute perfection, which was weird.
Ray is waaay too kind and generous...is all I'm going to say. However the judges....as with so many other acts on this show... are largely incompetent for the majority of presentations and are chosen by perceived popularity during that era. So many truly incredible performers who were bypassed but thankfully still made it big in their artistic careers. Have long stopped watching this show and just came across dt Ray Chen link.

Just a little idea for you to consider. :)
Ty! 😌
Hi ray or you wietnam
Ray's as generous with his rating as Twoset is with their roasts XD. It is interesting to have both views though!
I agree with you ❤😊

@@cupidok2768yes thats the point of the video buddy good job😂 you are too young to be on youtube man
Thanks for the kind words Ray! ❤️❤️❤️
You guys sounded amazing!! :)

It was wonderful! Great job guys!!

The first girl had so much confidence and stage presence that people that don’t know classical music wouldn’t know she made so many mistakes.
She plays like a rock star!
@bestuish yes her confidence is admirable but her skills are not very good
That’s what my music teacher tells me😂
As long as the judges aren’t musicians, you’re fine. Just look like you know what you’re doing
@@absolutelyaweirdolooll your music teacher was right
I love how Ray says "when she did this..." and reproduces it note for note, but ten times better.
Living in Germany, I found many amateur orchestras adults could join. This isn’t really a thing where I live now in the United States, and I don’t think it’s very common in most parts of the world. I think it should more common-so adults who play music but are not professional musicians don’t have to lose touch with their instrument!
I like your positive comments Ray. Its so easy to tear down others, but you try to see the positive, that's great man.😀
Did the orchestra play everything by heart?? (no music stands visible) That, and being so well together without a conductor, is really impressive!
the first girl played terribly, Ray noticed (wrong notes, not in tune, not in time) but was much nicer about it than TwoSet would've been
Yes, I'm sure they memorized it. This reminds me very much of my marching band days, honestly. We learned two new shows a week, all memorized. It's not as hard as you might think.
I may mention two great (professional) orchestras that play by heart: the Aurora Orchestra (UK) and Pynarello (Dutch conductorless ensemble).
Ray’s comments were just so professional and honest!! He had been so generous 😁. In fact, those participants performing instruments should participates in real, authentic music competitions to get their abilities judged and valued, not in such an occasion. How did BGT even praise the first girl. Just watched the entire clip on their channel. Ray is being VERY KIND here.

Ray is so encouraging in an authentic way.
Hi Ray, Thank you for making music so fun! Also huge thank you for creating Tonic. I've been encouraging all my students to use it. Even as an adult professional I'm finding it a lot of fun.
The last woman's perfomance is entertaining, draw attention. She's a star. So confident and well planned.
I don't even play strings and i knew the first woman was off. My brain started to have a mini explosion
Took me a while to figure out the piece 😂

So true.
Lettice is actually classically trained! She studied at the Royal College of Music. She was just REALLY drunk during her performance haha
Hahahaha for real?
Elaborate please 😐
Really she drunk
You know I feel like Vivaldi really doesn't deserve to have his work butchered (and the butchering praised) so much and so often. (Rimsky-Korsakov too)
I agree with you 100%!!!
Ray’s editor is completely out of control 😂 That Polyphia insert was so out of pocket and funny.
Love how Editor-chan coloured Ray's face red in the first montage.
That last young lady also has an amazing singing voice too.
I wish he would have reacted to Emil and Dariel on AGT! They were a great cello duo comprised of 2 brothers.
I love contestent 4's energy and personality lol she's so lovely. And she just gave that rock star vibe with a violin soooo cool
The one that Billie wrote is Bury a friend
Please react to miss Mississippi. Best rendition of zapateado I’ve ever heard

I still remember watching lettuce robothams viral video. She made up the medley on the way to the audition and performed hungover. 😂😂
You, Yuga Wang and Jasmine Choi should all enter a few of these “talent” competitions and show them what TRUE musical talent is!!!
Simon hates flautists lol.

2. *take off clothes*
