Again the last one out of the blocks. I said before in the semi-finals her arm throws at/out of the blocks is unusual, where she keeps both of her arms out in front of her. Every other competitor in this race had their rear arm throw higher, long before Sha'Carri did. So she is not making good use of the mass available to her from her arms. She is approximately a half cycle behind nearly every other competitor because of it. At this point, now that she is past the trials, I would immediately begin work on this. The first thing I would do is sit down with her and closely review both the semi-final and final video footage and discuss together what they are actually seeing, especially compared to the others. Then agree on a game plan to make it better. As always, the results must guide whether or not the plan is helping or hurting and adjust accordingly. One caveat here is, she has very good arm muscularity, so shoulder flexibility may need to be addressed, without sacrificing muscle mass. If they get this markedly improved, she'll break the world record. All the best Sha'Carri, America is rooting for you!!
agreed on your analysis, she needs to be solid at the start, it is by far weakest phase, fix the start she solid as Gold medal favorite, right now you still have to says Shelly Ann because of her consistency at championships
Great analysis…the arms are hindering her start, and she’s not getting much distance on her first few steps as a result. Her acceleration is great, but she’s definitely gonna need big arm action to improve the start. Looks like she stopped wobbling, though.

@@ronester1 Perhaps if she was being interviewed by Oprah. What the hell would asking about her mother's death do but cast a shadow over what should have been the happiest moment of her life? And what the hell do these types of questions have to do with athletic competition? These types of questions are generally not being asked of folks in other lines of work. Yet Olympic level competitors like Richardson's performance is determined by being able to maintain their focus, i. e., their emotional control to keep a winning edge. This is precisely what Naomi Osaka was talking about when she bowed out of Wimbledon. She earned $51 million dollars last year so she could afford to protect her mental health over our need to see champions broken down after competitions for our entertainment.

ShaCarri is a superstar on and off the track. Superstar in front of the media. She most definitely knows how to handle herself in front of the media.......ALWAYS the leader NOT the follower. Yes I agree that her block start needs work but don't confused her top end speed is in unmatched. Shelly is technically sound but she will need to run something incredible to completely destroy Shecarri Richardson. She is the future.
