Santa Ana Winds blowing caused near Lake Laguna conditions with surf entry/exit of 1ft or less. Tide was dropping, but not much motion at depth.
Dropped in and began exploring the reef and locating octopus quickly. Most fish had tucked away into the reef. The funny thing was seeing how the female Sheepshead had moved in on the Moreys in their dens.
We headed out along the reef to the Memorial Plaque. Then out for a loop around Shelley of Shaws (statue) before returning to the wall and out past the end of the reef. We then headed up on the reef for a while before dropping back down toward the sand during our return. The water was so calm that when we were in the shallows we even went through the inside swim through tunnel, even though it was a dropping low tide. We finished up playing in the shallow sand before standing up in about 4ft of water and chatting while we removed our fins and then strolling out of the lake ending a great dive.
