  • Today we will be travelling with Eurostar onboard one of their Class 374 "e320" high speed trains from London St Pancras to Brussels-Midi/Zuid. The Eurostar for being notoriously expensive - watch until the end to find out how much this ticket cost, and whether I truly think it's a good alternative to the plane.
    Enjoy the video

    I do like the Eurostar. Living so close to St Pancras is even better for getting into Europe.

    Just for info - you do get a light meal in Standard Premier.

    Very enjoyable well made & informative video. Although it can be more expensive than flying, I think it is a more enjoyable & civilized way to travel to Brussels?

      Thank you - glad you enjoyed. Eurostar is definitely the more enjoyable and civilised option - it saves you the worry of getting to the airport and all the waiting around. If you consider the additional costs of getting to the airport (parking, trains to airport etc at either end) then the Eurostar might actually work out cheaper if you find a good deal.

    Do have reserved seats? Or you can just seat wherever in standard class?

    • @ItsAllAboutTheJourney
      @ItsAllAboutTheJourney  Місяць тому

      You are required to choose a seat when you book. There is no additional fee to change your allocated seat. Trains can get very busy, so I'd always stick to the allocated seat.

      Thank you! You can get an overground train from Midi station that will take you to Brussels-Central, or alternatively a few stops on metro lines 3 or 4. Both take a similar amount of time. Midi isn’t quite in the city centre, but it’s fairly close.

    Does the train station in Brussels have an area to hold luggage for the day ?

    • @ItsAllAboutTheJourney
      @ItsAllAboutTheJourney  2 місяці тому

      Yes, it does. There are plenty of luggage lockers all around the station.

    We travel this route quite frequently (will be on it again this coming Monday). We're always impressed by how efficient,quick,and quiet it is.
    I was particularly interested to see how the expensive seats compare. A bit more padding (not especially bothered about that); less queuing (a definite perk!) at the start; and a free meal (I'm fine with buying a sandwich at St Pancras). So... we'll keep using economy :)

      I definitely agree - it’s a great route, but even Standard class is expensive enough…

    I'm from Jordan i have a visa to UK, do I need a visa to go to Belgium?

    • @ItsAllAboutTheJourney
      @ItsAllAboutTheJourney  Місяць тому

      I'm not a travel agent, nor do I claim to know much about visa requirements. However, the UK is not in the European Union or the Schengen free travel zone so I'd highly doubt this visa could be used in Belgium. I'd recommend looking on the Belgian or Jordanian authorities' website for more reliable information though - hope this helps!
