I don't understand why New Zealand Football federation limit themselves to one, two, or no games a year. This team have potential and they really lower themselves of chances to qualify for the FIFA world cup.
Perhaps they can try to follow Australia and join AFC? They will get plenty of competitive matches then; a certain step up in quality from the likes of Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

In the match with the Slovaks, we equalized the score at 90 + 3 minutes added. They were not afraid to play combat football on equal terms with Italy. For a long time we led 1-0 and equalized with a left penalty. I also remember the goalkeeper of the New Zealanders in the match with Italy made a blunder, stumbled, knocking the ball out, but otherwise played flawlessly, and when he could not save, the frame of the ilm goal defenders helped. In the match with Paraguay, we also played almost on equal terms. Both of them had chances, and the New Zealanders, if they had scored a goal, could have left the group from the first place (!) even, that would have been the same alignment.
I really hope people dont think all kiwis have iqs this low. We made our country proud but be honest mate, we would have been spanked if we had played Spain in 2010.
During that time, in the other match when I know Slovakia is winning against Italy, I really hope New Zealand can make a last moment goal here to be the group winner and play against Japan in Round of 16, who know they might beat Japan and qualify for quarter final, it will be the most shocked moment in world cup history.. But.. It just my assumption 😅
Italy penalty seemed a dive tbh, nobody knows what would've happened without but New Zealand well could've won that match. Japan would be tough to defeat though. New Zealand vs eventual winners Spain would've been amazing
