I watched a video about the Knot boutique in Japan. The number of strap options from different small Japanese suppliers is crazy. Hundreds and hundreds.
I would love them to use the Kinetic gmt movement that is in the seiko SUN prospex. That watch is 17mm thick and it would be great if someone made a thinner version.
I have a feeling many dive watch fans won’t be into this one, which is a shame. I think they absolutely nailed the minimalist and angular design. IMO, it’s more challenging to design a simple diver than to cram a bunch of cartoonish shapes into the dial. They even worked around the potential Quartz letdown by making this a kinetic movement - something for the watch geeks. Are you going to be selling this on WhatNot?
1:30 my Seiko capacitor lasted 18 years. Although mine was from the early 2000's so, maybe they don't make them like they used to? I also babied it pretty good for like the first 15 years.
Holy crap that's crazy what happened to you and your son! I'm so glad you were there to intervene. Hope you both heal strong, both inside and out, and are able to reach a place of feeling safe, whatever is needed for that to happen.
Hey Chris, will you be doing a review on the Knot titanium solar watches? Thanks! Also the Knot website describes the EPSON PX82 movement for the watch you reviewed here. Is that the same as the Seiko Kinetic movement? Hope you son is 100% recovered!
I own a watch with the Epson movement and the only difference between that and the Seiko movement is that the Epson movement says Epson on it in tiny engraving.
My local mall has department stores and high end jewelry stores, I don’t go around saying they’re the same quality because they come from the same building. I understand this probably got you a lot of clicks, but I think this is a little misleading, intentionally done or not. Just from what you’ve shown me in this video, this is better than seiko finishing but NOWHERE near GS level finishing.
It's a battery, not a capacitor, despite any marketing language. And their cases are, generally, entirely manufactured by Hayashi Seiki Seizo, not just finished.
It's not a dive watch! If you go to their website Chris they state on the model page quite categorically that this isn't a diver, and should not be used for that purpose. It's a sports watch.
So. When a watch says "not a dive watch" in the same sentence as "200 meters of water resistance" it just means that it wasn't made to pass the specific ISO certification needed to be considered a "dive watch" but you can still use it to go diving down to 200 meters.
Very nice, reminds me of a Tissot diver.
Thx!
👍👍👍 Nice Watch and Mystical Motif at the Back 👍👍👍

Very nice piece

I liked it. I went to buy one, the tonneau in blue, and it was sold out.

It's Knot time Chris.

So what is the band width of this watch?
18mm

The hour markers look at bit too small
Not the worst looking piece. Definitely not Grand Seiko level finishing however
I'm assuming their using NOS kinetic movements, because I don't believe Seiko uses them in their watches.
Yes they do, they're called Seiko Kinetic.

Saying that it is better than Seiko ignores the brand and all that comes with it.
