The PERRIN Turbo sump restrictor makes the turbo sump pump more effective at sucking oil out of the turbo sump. This in turn creates a slight vacuum on the turbo sump creating a proper balance of exhaust pressure and vacuum on the turbo seals, significantly reducing the amount of leaking around the turbo seals.
Been tested on cars for more than 50K miles and have had zero negative effects, Been testing for a couple years.

after being stage 2 for 4 months with no smoke issues at all suddenly it happened today on a cold start .Have ordered this restrictor .Your vid was the simplest way of showing the install all the other vids removed the entire hose etc so cheers man
I did this install on my 2017 WRX. 2 years of smoke and burnt oil disappeared instantly. Great improvement.

I Just installed this on my 16 wrx yesterday and my car slightly idles up and down for a few seconds on cold start and then goes away. Other then that I'm not having any issues with my car.

So are they (Perrin) suggesting without this, there is a slight oil loss or oil consumption? My AOS seems to be doing a great job in prevention!

Mine is a 14MY Forester XT with the same FA20F engine. A lot of white smoke comes out of it when I hit the gas pedal hard. Is this little part suit for my XT too?

Funny enough my AOS from Perrin came with a turbo sump restrictor but it does not have the port for the AOS

I don't understand. How does reducing the sump ventilation orifice increase the scavenge pumps performance? The sump ventilation is dependent on crankcase ventilation, its the same system. Strange

If you have an aos and install the Perrin sump restricter are you able to install it without adding the extra hose to the aos. Will that cause any issues

Smoke is still present due to cold weather and natural condensation. Nothing you can do about that because science but no blue smoke.
My WRX Channel yea i figured that will be one thing. But much less smoke im betting. I'm running catless i was racing a mustang looked back at my rear view mirror all i saw was smoke everywhere 😭 i thought i blew my turbo lol. Hopefully this help it alot.

Me, Myself & STI they are 22.85 lbs. vs 26.6 lbs for the stock 15/16 Premium wheels which is what I had. If i remember my wheel tire combo “saved” 2 lbs overall. So not much weight savings if that’s what you are really looking for.

Yes, it should.
Did it change the smell of being catless as well or just cleared the smoke?
No change in smell. It just helps with blue smoke from burning oil.
Could the oil mixed with the exhaust smoke throw off the O2 sensor?
This happened to me as soon as I went turbo back as well.

I just installed the IAG AOS on my 2021 WRX today. I had already picked up the Perrin turbo sump restrictor kit, but now I'm wondering if its installation would be a redundancy given my current setup. Do I proceed or hold off?

@@andrewmorgan5090 Nope. I have it stored away with my OEM parts for now. My catted Grimmspeed j-pipe and IAG AOS seem to be doing the trick. If blue exhaust hues do start to appear, then maybe I'll revisit the Perrin turbo sump restrictor as a solution.

MooseNY so you have to top off in between oil changes? I just got my car rebuilt and although none yet I’m concerned about oil consumption, just did a oil change and it was right on the dot every time I checked but here at 1,100 miles it dipped maybe a eighth inch from the full dot... I’m just a sketched subie owner😱😭🤧

MooseNY I wouldn’t say it’s a problem as my car is is catless with a intake and EBCS. And I haven’t had any problems but I’m sure that it could help a bit. Oil leaking through anywhere including turbo seals is oil lost..

Didn't you take a science class growing up? If your doing a comparison experiment, please put it in the same exact situation. With out the restrictor, you filmed at night which is colder and darker making smoke visible. With restrictor you filmed in the day time with lots of light, warmer making smoke invisible. Please re make video, seems like a your hiding something to make perrin look good.
