Hi, dear. By now, you must have already heard that there was an issue with this The World's Best (TWB) show. And Dimash's fans (Dears) were quite disturbed about it. I will explain a bit for you. TWB is the first (and last) competition Dimash participated in USA. The show was full of criticism and loopholes. Dimash set a precondition to not compete with children before agreeing to participate. But it turned out that, due to the unusual format of the show, in the semifinal round he ended up having to compete with 2 children, one of which was Daneliya, a 12 year-old girl from his country who was under financial support from the proceeds from HIS concert, according to the young artists supporting program of their country. Dimash decided to withdraw from the competition because in his culture, children are to be supported, not beaten. He withdrew himself even if he was almost certain to win and get the one-million-dollar prize if he continued. And he also had to politely endure the judges' rude criticism because they didn't understand his integrity. The show was prerecorded in October 2018, and broadcast in February 2019. The Slavic version was technically very good and pretty around the middle where he changed it a bit but I found it a bit boring because it was so even. The China version had had dynamic highlights which gave it parts to look forward to that were standouts. You need bits like that to give a song it's standout sections. A great example of a song like that is Harry Chapins W.O.L.D.
On top of the show cutting att least half of everyone's performances they lied to Dimash to get him on the show. He asked if he would be competing against children and they told him NO. As soon as he discovered they lied he withdrew from the show. Other reactors that accidentally picked this version also reacted to the one from Singer 2017 and immediately saw & heard the huge difference & were glad they reacted again. You did well with the history of Dimash (both parents were/are singers Dad is pop Mom is Opera) but the primary source from this song is the 2017 competition in China. Get ready for the fan reactions they are often less than measured. Please do not get discouraged there is so much to cover. Also consider taking a shot at the band Nightwish and their lead vocalist Floor Jansen who went viral at several points during the past year most notably their song "Ghost Love Score" she is terrific as is the band. Oh and you mentioned the movie 5th element 'Diva Dance' song which Dimash did his version of, it's insanely good.
Out of his countless amazing versions of SOS you’ve chosen the most controversial. If you are a little familiar with what happened during TWB you would understand.

My heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide for your great help and service, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. The discipline, courage, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his singing career to the best of his ability the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his listeners around the world especially the young will learn something from his optimistic views in pursuing his career, his persistency, courage, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and to his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. Song of Dimash in French “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) STORY BEHIND THE SONG: Credit to Daniel Balavoine the original artist of this song who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a short career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. That is why this song is sad mention in some of the lyrics…A soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress. . Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our life’s journey, but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discern well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity or a means of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with great humility and discernment. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God. Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. But through the original sin that enters into us, our nature has been wounded, and we experience suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but it is part of the reality of our human lives now. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. And.....speaking of the alien singing in the “fifth element” movie...DIMASH version is the best of all who performed it even compared to the original which has been electronically helped producing the highest tune for the reason of no human can do it.If you manage to read this,I would kindly suggest your opinion on his performance of “Diva Dance”. I love Dimash's voice and his work, but in this The Worlds Best contest, this song was cut out, it wasn't played in full. By the way, all the performances were cut out. I just watched because of Dimash, but when he gave up on this contest, I didn't even care anymore and stopped seeing. I don't think you need to react to this particular song but please check it out the version from the Singer 2017. I am waiting for the version he sang on Abu festival in Japan. It's my favorite version by far. Unfortunately, it was shared on YT but taken down because of copyright issues. It will be aired at the end of this year so it will probably be on YT all over in January so please listen to it as a treat :)

I’ve heard at least 5 versions of this song. On this song he had the flu. The first show oni am singer in China is really good and the Slavic bazaar show.

I really like your style of describing what’s going on with his voice. Like all others commenting please review other songs not from Worlds Best. Maybe ‘Sinful Passion’ ‘Love is like a Dream’ or Opera 2 from the Singer or Hello, Adagio, All by Myself. All of his current songs released this year are seriously incredible. ❤️❤️❤️

8:20 "...and I have a pretty high voice." Every vocal teacher I've seen react to this has been able to hit those notes, man or woman. There's nothing wrong with singing more alto, but that's pretty unselfaware for a vocal teacher.

Oh my, you really picked the wrong video to show, this show chopped up his performances and destroyed the song. Please if you are reacting to him again, dont choose this show, there are hundreds if not more performances on UA-cam to choose from, but this, is terrible. Sorry it's your first reaction and you had no idea, but try some of his live concerts, or the russian ones with Igor Crutoy. Oh and he does the crazy alien performance from the 5th element at his Bastau concert, note perfect and live, not like the original that was computer generated, in fact he goes higher, maybe react to that ❤
I wish UA-cam would just delete this version. It’s him singing, but it’s a rushed contest that cuts half of the song out. SOS singer 2017 is 1000x better. And the show was on, earlier this year. It was called “The worlds best.” Drew Barrymore, the Bald guy is actually RuPaul, and the other blonde that you saw mouth the words, “Woow.” Was Faith Hill. They were the judges.
Has anybody told you that you used the worst version? (chopped, bad production and mixing, etc). LOL. The performances from Singer and Bazaar are, although live versions too, way clearer and better produced. He also displays a lot of different colors and textures in Sinful Passion, Opera 2 (IMHO, better than Vitas’ rendition) and Diva Dance (the song from 5th element). It would be very interesting to see your reactions and feedback on those.
Bad choice of the song, you couldn't have choose worse. That show was a disaster, they manipulated and cut short through the middle all Dimash's songs.

Hi, thank you very much for your reaction. I've seen a lot of vocal coach reactions but you're the first one I've heard explaining about putting emotion while singing. I think that this is a very interesting topic and I would like if in the next video you could explain more about it. That being said, as many others have already told you, this video looks very weird to say the least. They forced Dimash to cut the song in half and they does an standing ovation since almost the beginning? To me this is the perfect definition of hypocrisy. I also recommend you to take a look at his performance of this song during The Singer competition or the one at the slavic bazaar concert. You won't regret it for sure and at the same time you will clearly understand why most of us don't like this version at all

Hi, dear. By now, you must have already heard that there was an issue with this The World's Best (TWB) show. And Dimash's fans (Dears) were quite disturbed about it. I will explain a bit for you.
TWB is the first (and last) competition Dimash participated in USA. The show was full of criticism and loopholes.
Dimash set a precondition to not compete with children before agreeing to participate. But it turned out that, due to the unusual format of the show, in the semifinal round he ended up having to compete with 2 children, one of which was Daneliya, a 12 year-old girl from his country who was under financial support from the proceeds from HIS concert, according to the young artists supporting program of their country.
Dimash decided to withdraw from the competition because in his culture, children are to be supported, not beaten. He withdrew himself even if he was almost certain to win and get the one-million-dollar prize if he continued. And he also had to politely endure the judges' rude criticism because they didn't understand his integrity.
The show was prerecorded in October 2018, and broadcast in February 2019. And they cut all his performances short before broadcasting.

@@jeanphilipperondeau1070 I don't, I think his The Singer performance was his most dynamic and best. The Slavic version was technically very good and pretty around the middle where he changed it a bit but I found it a bit boring because it was so even.
The China version had had dynamic highlights which gave it parts to look forward to that were standouts. You need bits like that to give a song it's standout sections. A great example of a song like that is Harry Chapins W.O.L.D.

On top of the show cutting att least half of everyone's performances they lied to Dimash to get him on the show. He asked if he would be competing against children and they told him NO. As soon as he discovered they lied he withdrew from the show. Other reactors that accidentally picked this version also reacted to the one from Singer 2017 and immediately saw & heard the huge difference & were glad they reacted again. For non English songs from Singer 2017 you can find most with subtitles & some with back stories on the channel Gloria Wu.

My heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide for your great help and service, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public.
I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition.
The discipline, courage, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his singing career to the best of his ability the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his listeners around the world especially the young will learn something from his optimistic views in pursuing his career, his persistency, courage, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and to his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music.
The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..?
I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 20 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted but his hard work and years of practice and experiences proves it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible.
My other concern whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..?
Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it.
With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me.
For all those who read these reflections and commentaries of mine about this piece of music performed by Dimash. If you think it is helpful for the general public you can share it to others as you please, and I do really appreciate it. Or maybe you might have a different reflection experience of this music than mine; you can always revisit this music or other music of Dimash on line. Your own personal comments and critics to this commentary and reflection of mine is very much welcome and highly appreciated too.
Song of Dimash in French “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death)
STORY BEHIND THE SONG: Credit to Daniel Balavoine the original artist of this song who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a short career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. That is why this song is sad mention in some of the lyrics…A soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress. .
Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our life’s journey, but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith.
For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discern well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity or a means of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with great humility and discernment.
Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God.
Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are strangers and pilgrims on this earth” St. Paul reminded us that “the sufferings of this present time are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later.
Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters into us, our nature has been wounded, and we experience suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but it is part of the reality of our human lives now.
Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension.
If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others.
Death is the end of our earthly life. Our lives are measured by time, as with all other living beings on earth. Since it is unknown to all of us the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we prepare it at all times, otherwise we are caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in bliss.

I love Dimash's voice and his work, but in this The Worlds Best contest, this song was cut out, it wasn't played in full. By the way, all the performances were cut out. The World's Best show shortened Dimash's performances, but, you see what he can do. He just completed a well-received show in N.Y.C. Dimash have been invited as wild- ard contestant to joint the Chinese show "I Am A Singer" in 2017(He is 23 then). And that's when Dimash started to known to the whole world with his fantastic voice. Everyone is amazed by his performances.
"I'm a Singer" is a competition show in which all the contestants are professional singer. Some of singers are in music industry for decades.
Their ranks are decided by a 500-member audience. The latest ranked singer will be substituted by a new contestant who is not known to everyone until next round.
Every song has Chinese subtitle for their audience. If a song other than Chinese is performed, the original language subtitles will be added on the top of translated Chinese subtitles.
Several years ago, the show begins to invites some well-known singers from various countries as a wild card contestant to join the show.

I really like your style of describing what’s going on with his voice. Like all others commenting please review other songs not from Worlds Best. 8:20 "...and I have a pretty high voice." Every vocal teacher I've seen react to this has been able to hit those notes, man or woman. There's nothing wrong with singing more alto, but that's pretty unselfaware for a vocal teacher.

Since everyone else has mentioned this show and how awful they treated Dimash, I won't. (Ooops....guess I just did!) Anyway, you gave an excellent reaction and I really enjoy your expertise. I look forward to further reactions to Dimash. Oh, you can't go wrong if you choose a performance from the Chinese show "I Am Singer" (except for maybe Uptown Funk, which wasn't his best choice). Oh my, you really picked the wrong video to show, this show chopped up his performances and destroyed the song. Please if you are reacting to him again, dont choose this show, there are hundreds if not more performances on UA-cam to choose from, but this, is terrible. Sorry it's your first reaction and you had no idea, but try some of his live concerts, or the russian ones with Igor Crutoy. Oh and he does the crazy alien performance from the 5th element at his Bastau concert, note perfect and live, not like the original that was computer generated, in fact he goes higher, maybe react to that ❤
I wish UA-cam would just delete this version. It’s him singing, but it’s a rushed contest that cuts half of the song out. SOS singer 2017 is 1000x better.
And the show was on, earlier this year. It was called “The worlds best.” Drew Barrymore, the Bald guy is actually RuPaul, and the other blonde that you saw mouth the words, “Woow.” Was Faith Hill. They were the judges.
Well, it's a pity you've chosen this version. One from Singer show is the best in my opinion, and I think any other version is better then this one.

Has anybody told you that you used the worst version? (chopped, bad production and mixing, etc). LOL. The performances from Singer and Bazaar are, although live versions too, way clearer and better produced. He also displays a lot of different colors and textures in Sinful Passion, Opera 2 (IMHO, better than Vitas’ rendition) and Diva Dance (the song from 5th element). It would be very interesting to see your reactions and feedback on those.
Bad choice of the song, you couldn't have choose worse. That show was a disaster, they manipulated and cut short through the middle all Dimash's songs.

Hi, thank you very much for your reaction. I've seen a lot of vocal coach reactions but you're the first one I've heard explaining about putting emotion while singing. I think that this is a very interesting topic and I would like if in the next video you could explain more about it. That being said, as many others have already told you, this video looks very weird to say the least. They forced Dimash to cut the song in half and they does an standing ovation since almost the beginning? To me this is the perfect definition of hypocrisy. I also recommend you to take a look at his performance of this song during The Singer competition or the one at the slavic bazaar concert. You won't regret it for sure and at the same time you will clearly understand why most of us don't like this version at all
