I love Dave's calm in whatever situation and wife ever smiling no matter what.Thats the Spirit.
Lovely family and how wonderful to achieve their dream. What a lot of hard work, you really deserve it. I’d love to see it again now, completely finished
So happy this worked out.
Great job. Looks beautiful. So glad everything worked out for this couple.
With these renovations and nice looking stonewalls.....I guess you cannot insulate the walls right? I remember houses in France being cold because of no insulation.
I REALLY admire this man for NOT 'compromising', and for using the lime render. THAT is the appropriate thing to use on an old building and IT BREATHES. It ensures the life of the barn.
George is just a youngun' in this one.
Took the words right out of my mouth~ He's sooooo cute! LOL
I do like this couple, but I am very concerned with that open pond right next to their play area. I hope they enclose it. Its a disaster waiting to happen!
i hope you don't cover those beautiful walls please leave them to show the beautiful stone inside
Married with three young children and a mortgage, and HE WANTS to work part time. OK.
Wait... What? A planning commission can say whether you can sell some of your lands or not? WTH
You cam sell the land but have to apply for planning to rise the cost. Planning restrictions are there or you would have people building everywhere.
@@32446 I love where I live. No one to answer too, no zoning and no permits.
What an incredibly irresponsible couple! They go to that point through sheer luck, hard work alone would not have been enough. The first thing I'd do to the exterior is paint over the awful red finishes in pure white. The building itself has great potential.
I want to watch these but the constant negativity of the presenter ruins it for me.
ahh mate same ! he thinks you have to be rich to renovate he is a twat
George Clarke, it's his show.
Hope they sell the land.... They need an act of god.
Pfft, since when did god do anything other than motivate humans to do both good and bad deeds?
MaZEEZaM ok troll. I truly feel sorry for you. It was a figure of speech. Perhaps if you were more educated you would know that.
I think it's a good thing that people have impossible financial goals, because the amount of money some people are spending on their "dreams" are just insane, several hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions....way more insane than thinking this dream will only cost UK£ 12 000. :)
Good luck and stick to your dreams! Bunch of love!
The guy's trying as hard as he can to juggle 20 balls and save costs by working on his own, and the host is berating him every chance he gets. Wow. Good job, Dave, and kudos for keeping your spirits up during the hard times.
people who are on a really tight budget still need 2 cars. 1 is a fuel guzzling Land Rover that must cost an arm and a leg to run. Why don't they sell it, get at least 4-5 grand and save on fuel, car tax and insurance? If they cant live on 1100 quid with no rent it must be the cars taking the money.
Well said.
What a lovely couple. Hope they sell the plot and all goes well. They so deserve it.
I wish they were able to get the full $100,000 Pound (I know that isn't the right symbol but being from Australia I don't have a pound symbol) value for the plot but being a down turn in the market the $75K is still an unexpected bonus. Really nice family and great looking barn, I wish them all the best.
George, I love you like my mama but stop telling these homeowners how in debt they are. It's embarrassing.
Rebecca and Dave, we are so delighted for you both, and for your beautiful kids. What a sterling effort. Wishing you all the very best!
Loving this build~! So much admiration for Dave! God bless!
George Clarke the program host should also show his own home and if he has
taken any project himself he should show that too.
"would you trade in your life to live in a caravan in a field..."
Yep! Just as long as there are no ants!
Been there done that, hated it with a passion!
I hope the lot is approved and get money so they can make their dream come true. Good luck😀
Very nice home and this fine family deserves it.
just get it dried in then go back to work and don't lose it ... it's so beautiful...
Nice family and interesting project. The windows and door are great and I can tell by their furnishings they know what is appropriate for that type of structure. Good luck guys and I'm sure it will be beautiful.
Cutest and sweetest family. I love the red windows and doors. Their place is beautiful!
It’s soooo pretty !!! I love the window and doors ❤️ They’re a lovely family and I hope everything worked out for them
So happy for them. Really grates on me when George tries to bring them down for going after their dreams 🙄 Caroline does it too. Come on guys!
Its also a reality show and he's playing the bad guy but am sure he helps links them up and here and there.
She only makes $1100/mo and they took this on? Doesn't make sense.
And he said he plans to only work part time, with three little mouths to feed and a big mortgage.
No, it doesn't make sense to me, either.
Such a lovely family and beautiful restoration.
Love the house ❤❤
It's a beautiful home! Congratulations 🎉
Wow. Very ambitious. Thy sold their house great. They used money from their jobs. Great.and only had 12 000 for the build. Then got a loan for 20 0000. They quit their jobs and have 2 small kids. Yet they are going to pay back the loan with the loan . WOW!!! I can't believe that he is going for custom window frames. I have seen other shows where they get windows for free. He wants to do it by himself and then spend 8 000 on the frames alone. Never mind the glass still needs to be put it.or anything else in the house. And they quit their jobs. Not very well planed out. J.M.O. But good luck. On another show the couple split up even before it was done and she had to get a full time job to get it finished. I heard Susie Armond( not sure if I spelt it right) say if you are going to go back to school and get a loan from the government. ( In the USA) and you go bankruptcy. You still have to pay back the government. So she says save money till you can afford to go back to school or work and go to wchool at night or what ever way works but don't give up your job because you still need money to live. Hope it works for you in the end .
What are you rambling about ?
So the barn is finished but is a BnB now. It looks like Dave still owns it but where does the family live?? I love this family and this conversion so I need ANSWERS, LOL
Followed a link provided further down; looks like they own 3 properties, all available for BnB. All I can think is they've renovated a 4th to live in.
House rich pocket poor is not much of a dream life. No wonder it is a BnB now so they can pay off the debt as I got the impression that the money they would get from selling the land was not to pay dent off but finish the barn.
I agree. They could not afford to live there.
Эту программу полюбила давно, был русский перевод. А сейчас моих знаний английского не хватает до полного перевода. Что можете предложить? Титры не работают .
But Gorge you are the life line
Darling...your such an awesome
Angel 🕊😁👍
Well done you guy's I love the
Energy and the willingness to
Do it no matter what! 💪🌻
George, not Gorge!
He payed too much for the barn and spent more than it was purchased
No, given they bought the plot with the barn on for 110,000 pounds and had a plot as part of it with a potential value of equal that though it looks like due to the down market they might only get 75,000 Pounds, the barn was a bargain. It was realistic given the barns state that it would cost minimum as much as it did to fix it up regardless of the purchase value.
Mortgage free. Who can say that!
@@Mpayne1472 how are they mortgage free? When they borrowed 100 000. Then another 20 000. Yes they sold their house had savings. And were only left with 12 000 to fix the place and live. Then borrow another 20 000. And the guy asked him how are you going to pay off the loan. They said with the loan. So how is that mortgage free.?
Why no subfloor below the finish boards oh my. I wish them luck. I wish they could keep the plot. Windows and doors are true cratsmanship and character.
Birmingham !! I did the same . Living with a sea of diversity was overwhelming.
Love you guys!!!!!
Lovely..
What a lovely couple, good on them not letting George's dramatic's get them down!
Yes, the constant scaremongering and negative comments do really get on my nerves. I bet he wouldn't be saying the same thing to a massive developer who was cash rich. And what year was this made - a 20k loan just like snapping your fingers - Now you have to jump through hoops. They moved there for lifestyle choice - time is on their side and people have to adapt to their circumstances and situation.
38:00 You need help but George doesn't even know how to use a hammer.
I’m watching this video but I lost the number of times you use the expression “ desperate for the money “ “ low budget “ . DAVIDE inexperience . ..... race against time.... there wasn’t any word of optimism! Why ? To much drama!
It’s TV that’s his job!
It’s a ridiculously low budget and that’s the problem with most of these people on this show. Just a daydream and they just blindly hope it’ll work.
So no qualified, registered tradesman needed ?
Just started watching. 12K!!!
Yeah, tiny budget, lovely stone barn though.
How people make these decisions....
That property for a hundred thousand grand? ...COME ON MAN! It must help to have family and connections. There is nothing derelict about that awesome structure.
what connections, the neighbour was interested in the plot, it was an outside realestate who valued the property and external people who were considering its purchase, no connections that I see.
@@MaZEEZaM I'm jealous of that pond/park like area. One would think that alone would double the value of that property. I hope that pond is still a part of their property. I'm re-watching old favorites.
Jony Ive
Lucky!
Such negativity out of the narrator .....Sure they can do it......How about some donations?.......Love the old barn.
The commentator is so hopeless and negative they could do without him!
He knows how the project should run time wise and money wise. Hes just reminding them and us that money will run out fast if you waste time. With that he keeps us on the edge of our seats in anticipation if he does his job right. I guess they call it playing the devil's advocate.lol
George is a drama queen
Realistic rather than negative per-say, he's a professional Architect, he knows what he is talking about.
@@joannahampton3808 no! The voice of reason which is much needed. They didn’t have a clue
cave troglydytum
sorry all you baby makers, that makes me sick. Not just because this planets had enough, Britains an island and you have no money, you cant get fixed and be happy with just 2 and have a simpler life
The update shows they now have 3 bnb's
Hahahaha...jealousyyyyyyyy or what? Hahahaha...
