Every time I watch one of these restoration programs the winter is always the worst it’s been for 10,20,30 years 😂😂😳
Because these are typically shot over a few years. So it could very well be the same winter affecting all the builds at the same time
So proud of this couple. I can't believe that redid that house. It's like the saying “ Where there's a will, there's a way”. Amazing couple!
16th Century farmhouse. Love George's admiration for Terry & Marilyn's perseverance. Gorgeous!
Marilyn says she likes to think she's Superwoman but she's not. I beg to differ! What a go-getter, good humored, mentally and physically strong woman. All her family and friends are blessed to have her in their lives, I'd wager! A lovely couple, family, and restoration. A thousand best wishes from the U.S.
It's 14 years on. I wonder how they are doing? I absolutely love them.
It’s for sale, I guess they are in their 70s now. £360,000
@@clairehawkes1112 thanks, Claire
@@clairehawkes1112 oh no that’s a shame
This was my first time seeing this farm restoration and this restoration is my absolute favorite, because it is an actual family farmhouse which was owned by actual ordinary hard-working, English farmers, and not wealthy aristocrats I would love to see a video of the completed house restoration and the landscaping with the pond and he ideas that they mentioned as well as the farm animals. I loved their farm, and seeing for the most part, just the two of them doing the restoration, using the traditional building methods would have been used 500 years ago. It makes you appreciate the hard work people had to perform and that was required to provide a foundation for modern construction techniques.
@@clairehawkes1112 in 2007 they were both aged 54 (per newspaper article) so almost but not yet 70. 2023 they will turn 70. Paid £105,000 plus £179,000 in materials not counting the thousands of hours they did. £284,000 costs plus add they bought it in 2004. £360,000 sale price is very reasonable. Imo
How could you give a thumbs down to this!..33 morons 🙄.
Never seen such hard workers God Bless this amazing couple..they deserve everything they created. Wishing them years of happiness for the whole family congrats 👍❤️
They truly are amazing couple
They were not out to impress anyone and yet have completely impressed me. Best of this show ever.
I am gobsmacked by their tenacity and fortitude. Next level.
This little lady is amazing. They made me a nervous wreck afraid of the height, they could fall or something fall on them. My back hurts just watching them. An amazing couple. Just amazing. The whole thing.
So proud of Terry and Marilyn....way people used to be all around world. love to all.
My absolute respect, for two of the hardest working couple, that i have ever seen. A lesson for us all. You chase a dream, you reap the rewards.
Holy moley. Respect for that rope & pulley. More than honorable mention to their family & coworker.
What a hard working, determined couple.
i love and admire these two more than I can say. And the furnishings, etc? Perfect. So often they aren't even close.
That women is an inspiration and her husband too, amazing people.
Two very very hard working 💪 they have done a FABULOUS job ive seen anyone do so with no power tolls it just FANTASTIC 👏👏👏👏👏👏💜
Hats off to this extraordinary couple 👒🧢
This couple did such a wonderful job
Look at that crack! It's frightening,
Marilyn: it's exciting!!
😂🤣😂😂
I thought she will say, it's the new fire place for the kitchen.
Best one ever Marilyn was phenomenal in her part to help no whinging or whining hats off to her
What a woman she's amazing he's very lucky to have her
I just fell in love with there drive of there house
These two are the Best
Hats off to this couple for the dedication they put in this project. I feared for their lives at times and wondered why they didn’t get professional help. They definitely have more guts than me. Marilyn especially is incredible, brave and definitely not work shy. Wishing them the best in the completion of their house. Long may it stand.
This has to be one of the most enjoyable videos ive ever seen, taken on a similar project but to a much smaller scale. 200 year old stone house belonging to my grandfather, i can totally relate to the pros and cons of such a venture. Terry and Marilyn , God bless you guys , just a pair of hand labouring superhumans!!! but with a dream!! you should be damn proud of yourselves and your grand children with thank yous forever!!! Be well , greetings from Crete!!!
How can you not LOVE these people! Thanks for reminding us all what things are most important in life. What a thing they've built, house and family.
no one can love idiocy
It's such an inspiration
Just hoping to meet such amazing people.
The narrator definately is having the time of his life and thank you taking us along😊
"The narrator" is George Clark. It's his show!
Just pure admiration for both of you.... The build is ok, but your spirit is HIMALAYAN, my deepest admiration and lots of love
Well done too this couple what a amazing job they have done.
I'm a geordie, always loved physical work, always wanted to live in the country, but I think Terry and Marilyn must have sipped deeply from the cup of insanity,,,, but what they achieved is nothing short of miraculous,,,, all kudos to them
George Clarke is by far and away the best presenter of these type of programs with his sympathetic attitude to the people on the show and I have never heard a critical comment from him only helpful ones may he do meany more of these type of shows.
True northern grit these two have, brilliant !
Fabulous and as George says, EXCEPTIONAL story of a hard working couple.
Just Lovely.
My word I can’t get over how hard these two graft that is literally back breaking work and I’m their 50s
This is my favorite yet! I also adore Marilyn’s accent more than any I’ve ever heard. Brilliant renovation!
I hope their health holds up. Their children will inherit a wonderful property kne day.
These guys are enjoying each other so much doing this project together and now it is bringing the whole family together!
The family who were conspicuously absent until it actually looked likei t might work?
@@hogwashmcturnip8930 It's also fair to say that moving your entire family and changing your life for a couple with kids it's not the easiest decision. We don't know what efforts it took for them to make that decision.
@@bluezauza How does this relate to anything? My comment was on the fact that the children were Absent during the build, unless it was to feed their faces at Barbecues. If that was My mother and father taking on that project I would be wanting to help in some way. Even if it was an odd few hours at weekends. They only moved to Northumbria, not Jupiter!
Please go back to this one many more times
I want to see how they are doing
Great idea!
I'm so had their health is good and they didn't give up. Great job done.
He likes to think I’m superhuman but I’m not, something I think most women have said at one time or another.. either way this woman is a gem anyone would be proud to call her wife, mother, grandmother, friend.
There is no comparison to living in the countryside, especially for children.....being in nature and surrounded by animals.
Those roof tiles are CRAZY! I’ve never seen anything like that.
So inspiring! All love to this amazing family.
Remarkable couple with so much passion and tenacity. Such a beautiful house and surroundings. I take my hat off to them, and wish them many years of happiness. Bravo!!!
Remarkable couple, they have my utmost administration. A great role model of determination to make a dream comes true
Outstanding well done I loved the home cozy warm
I was looking for this I saw the first episode they were such amazing people
You can tell right away that she is an amazing woman. Who let her go?
watching the a-frame work was frustrating 😭 don't just use a single pulley, use a tackle with several pulleys instead. you'll have to pull more rope, but even a kid will be strong enough to pull the a-frame up. i helped my dad a lot when i was a kid and we renovated our house in the 80s. a block and tackle is still one of the most fun things for me 😅 physics in action!
Having spent many years working in the construction industry I have always while watching this series I have thought how dangerous for the people refurbishing properties with no experience, knowledge or safety equipment it is, and I'm surprised that no one has been injured.
It says in this documentary that he is a construction engineer. So that must help at least.
They were so fortunate to be offered the chance to rebuild this place and even more fortunate they recognized the potential and grabbed it with both hands (and strong backs). Most satisfying of all is they didn't give up. True grit.
what a great story, a great couple and family… thank you SO much for sharing with the world.
This is the best renovation yet! I just love Marylin!
Enjoyed!
Terry and Marilyn, you two rock!!! I love that you show that middle aged people can take on and tackle huge projects. If you guys can do what you're doing in your early 50's, it makes my dream of having my own little homestead with small garden/orchard and baking business at 59 + , seem do-able...Jesus loves you! Keep on keeping on.
For sure and I thought painting the whole inside and outside of my house at 70 and cutting up a 50+ foot tree that fell in my yard up by myself was amazing at my age. KUDOS to this couple. I honestly struggle to lift 50 pounds. My spirit is still there. My strength and grip in my hands is lacking. But baby I hung onto that chain saw for three weeks day after day in 100 degree weather and smoke in the air from local fires that year to get that tree off my lawn.
For me the enviable part of this build was the strong family ties. V impressive in this day.
Next to the definition of "intestinal fortitude" in the dictionary is a photo of this couple. Amazing work and not a power tool in sight. Here is the pioneering spirit that builds nations, so lacking in most of today's populace.
She is a Superwoman
May they sleep peacefully after their life of toil. Maryln and Terry❤ never forgotten
Glad they did a follow up on these two.
I love these people. What a vision.
These two were the absolute best of this entire series. The other one to come even close was the bloke restoring the old church. Another legend.
I have nothing but admiration and respect for these people. The best of British.
The ice house guy was a good one. But these are the best by a street.
This is absolutely stunning. They are not only a part of the History, but they made their own with their own bare hands. It is a story for their coming family generations.
Determination I would love to see this when it is finish

It sold last year, here is the listing document.
@C N How heartbreaking - WOW That would pull the rug from under your feet are all that back breaking hard labour ! God bless them both !
God bless their Families !
@@Bon_Dept That is so sad, after all that love and hard work for the place :-(
@@Bon_Dept It must have been a devastating decision after all that work. They likely had a good 10 years after the completion of the project. It's stunning!!
@@Bon_Dept do u know why they sold it
Wow what a powerhouse of a woman. They both work so well together they must surely have a solid relationship like the house they built up 😀
Fabulous job. Such determined and hard workers
Gorgeous! You guys are living the dream!
Love this couple!
Agree! amazing and stunning...
I’m in awe of the indomitable spirit of this wonderful couple. Their strength and determination is so inspiring to watch. I love watching restorations, bringing something ancient and forgotten back to life for themselves and future generations.
Marilyn & Terry are my idols when it comes to their relationship with one another, their family & the world around them. They have what I would call "Geordie grit" & I love them for it. I do wonder if they are still there as I saw a real estate listing for the property. It made me wonder if they are healthy & OK. I pray they are.
This couple are absolute rockstars. And she is the lead vocalist and guitarist!
Anybody else just fast forwarded through presenter. I jut listened to this lovely couple commentating on their rebuild. I really didn't need a presenter telling me a window narrowed. I could see it.
Fantastic renovation.
One incredible people these two are.
This is outstanding. God Bless them.
So impressed by this couple
Amazing couple!!!
Ohh I remember this amazing hard working couple!!!, so resilient despite all the setbacks.... Totally inspiring....
Amazing. Love it.

God bless them both. How are your aunt and uncle today? Do you know if the property has been sold? If you are in contact with them, tell them that we greet so much from Norway :)
@@otto1646 They are not his/her Aunty or Uncle S/he is Indian They use the term as respect for elders.
What a loverly can do couple well done to them.
So beautiful!
Seen this two times now if there is a Knighthood these two have to be up there for it ... Lord & Lady of the Pennines bring it on !
What a pair of grafters! Hats off! 👍
This project is like cooking and eating an entire elephant all by yourself. Gobsmacked comes to mind. Well done!
Phenomenal !
Wow such amazing determination .
As a builder myself, the most mind boggling thing I find about these renovations is the costings. Everyone has a nervous chuckle when they talk about the budget. Until you pay that mortgage off that house belongs to the bank. The real chilling graft starts the day after you install the postbox and you get your first bill. We never hear how that goes…. And that’s kinda everything.😢
BEAUTIFUL ❣️
They are awesome 👏 wow these girls are beautiful amazing young ppl who will protect Mother Earth 🌍
They are amazing people ❤
WOw she is amazing an inspiration for sure
What a couple excellent job
I love this couple
I'm in awe. How... Crazy!
BRILLIANT BRILLIANT AND BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
True Brits. Such determination.
This is probably my favorite rebuild. This couple lovingly did this by themselves, no paid workman and no power tools.
I think this couple is the most amazing and the best for all series of all seasons of cycles with construction and restorations. The previous episode about them is my favorite. I think they will not disappoint me in this episode either.
Wow, they are amazing....I couldn't do it.
wonderful couple, great show
I'm speecheless...♡ greetings from 🇧🇷🥂!
