  • Learn more at HowNowVideo.com. In this video I show you three ways to work with AVCHD footage. If you're on a PC you can combined long AVCHD clips and remove the "audio glitch" that can occur at the 4GB limit, split clips or transcode into mpeg4 using Badaboom.

I called Adobe and they told me to un install premiere cs4 and quicktime ... re install quicktime the updated version...re install premiere cs4 and then go to updating the program from the help dropdown. Did it all and now I have what I was looking for. WoW! what a heap of time that took out of my day lol... Thanks Dave it all worked out.

@MrSilentb22 I use the Panasonic HMC 150 most of the time. I also shoot the Panasonic TM700, often as a B-Camera at two-camera shoots.

@gtamediaproductions1 You could try going to the Help tab in Premiere Pro and Check for Updates. Or attempt to customized the 24fps sequence setting and save a version in 30fps as a Custom Preset. Or, have your friend email you Premiere Pro document where he has created a blank 30fps sequence which you can use to begin your project. Not certain about why this is happening. Finally, you could try Adobe's online Forum and ask your question there. Good luck.

@skateboard19952006 If you're running Windows 7, .mts files do play natively. On Vista and XP, they won't play natively. If you do get CS4, bring the .mts clips into a timeline in Premiere Pro, and play them there.

@Mogen1943 Badaboom requires a CUDA card which is only an option on nvidia.

I have a question Dave if you could help me.
I am using premiere cs4 pro and noticed that in my drop down for AVCHD formats I don't have the preset for 1920X1080p 30fps and so on... just the 24fps choices. my friend has the same system and he has them as a choice. Why do you think I am missing that option? please help if you know. thanks Dave.

I highly recommend Avdshare Video Converter to convet AVCHD to any video format like DivX, FLV, MP4, WTV, XviD, WEBM, etc., so that you can import AVCHD file to any video player or editor. It can edit AVCHD fiels as well. Here's the link:www.avdshare.com/edit-avchd-in-powerdirector

Good question. Perhaps you can trick MTSMerger by renaming the .mpg files temporarily to .mts, run the merge, and then go back and rename the resulting merged file to its original file extension. It's a long shot I know but try it out. Otherwise, I'd keep searching the web for the answer on a user forum or something. Somebody must have had this issue.

Dave, can you advice to me what program will do the same work like MTSMerge but with MPG files? I'm asking because I often use a SD files, and my Sony camera splits them too and Sony PMB software is very slow...

I used my sony action cam on my cruise. Some videos and pictures did not show up. it has the icon for the video. when I go to open this it says the file was corrupt or the program is not formatted. it shows it is in jpeg. my camera is recording this in mp4. it is downloaded to my playmemories program. please help.

+Stacy Beasley If you haven't deleted the files yet on your original SD card then you may get those back. A couple of things to try if you have the SD card still: Drag files from the card again to a new folder on your desktop. Try importing them again into a new Premiere Pro project (or whatever you use). See if they return. Or search "rescue files from sd card" and follow instructions. Finally, locate the troublesome files on your computer and see if you can open them in some alternative program like Windows Video Editor (you can get if for free). Sometimes you can get a file to work in another program, then export it out as a rendered clip which will then work. You'll need to poke at this and try to get those files back. Good luck.
