I can literally picture Joonie sitting on a bench beside the Ttukseom river at night watching people go by, surrounded by these people in pairs of “twos or threes” but he himself is alone and lonely. In the beginning of the song, you will hear a faint recording of that actual moment when this song came to him. That was the sound of the people that he mentioned in the song. He recorded it. I think the playlist was of you never walk alone. The interlude wings did not contain the last Hobi verse after the breakdown. (buckle up it's 1 am and i'm feelin wordy) first off, bts is so funny for luring people in with the sexy ass, flashy, essence of kpop, blood sweat n tears title song and music vid just to drag you into cage of self reflection for the rest of the album like the idea that someone could see the mv and be like oo pretty and then go listen to the whole album without realizing that they're about to involuntarily participate in a group therapy session with bts is wild if i were to describe what the wings album feels like to me it feels like eating at one of those bougie restaurants that cook in front of you (hear me out) boy meets evil and blood sweat n tears feel like the waiter introducing the menu. "here's what the course will be like today" (boy meets evil and bs&t lyrics are as pretty as they are piercing. i think it was namjoon who mentioned that at first they were hesitant to name the title track blood sweat & tears bc they thought it sounded unpleasant. like they werent sure about naming the song after bodily fluids lmao. but the title is so fitting for how the lyrics make me feel. like reading the lyrics i can see open wounds dripping with blood, over exertion, tears of frustration, putting your hand over an open flame and for some reason, the scene in sleeping beauty where she pricks her finger.) then after you get an idea of what the meal's gonna look like, the solo songs from each of the members the solo songs feel like introducing the un-prepped ingredients raw... all their solo songs feel so raw like a freshly rooted vegetable still covered in dirt, a slab of meat that still smells of blood, uncooked rice that screams for water. the solo songs are so unapologetic they are ingredients that still carry the fragrance of where they came from and then as we go into the rest of the album it's just course after course of beautiful dishes and you know that thing when food tastes even better when you cook it yourself/saw it being cooked?? like those full 7 member songs hit so different after 7 the solo tracks like you can pick out and recognize the different flavors easiest example: you can taste reflection in cypher p.4 reflection: "i wish i could love myself" (uncooked rice grain, will break your teeth if u try to chew it) cypher p.4: "i love i love i love i love myself" (cooked rice, completely opposite texture, added spices, edible) in lost, 2,3! , outro wings, 21st century girl the lyrics are so comforting and reassuring on their own but after first love (where yoongi recalls moments where he wanted to give up), after lie (where jimin expresses pain and feeling trapped), after awake (where seokjin confesses that he doesnt feel good enough), after stigma (where tae is riddled with guilt and self accusations), the other songs are even better. the solo songs add context to the ot7 songs i feel like begin (where it's made so apparent how deeply jungkook feels love and gratitude) adds so much weight to every thank you bts say in the rest of the album oh and the flavor of mama (which tells the story of hobi and his family going through hardships and making it out the other side) is so present in 2,3! the "letter to a friend who you've been through shit with" vibe in both songs is delectable just the overwhelming security and confidence in cypher p.4 after hearing the rapline's solos is ugh it's just so good adds another layer ya know? also overall theme/message of the album would be the season for ingredients i think like how in the winter you get tangerines, avocados in spring, blueberries in summer, and apples in fall (yes i did google which season bears which fruit for the sake of this analogy) the "season" of this album to me is accepting the coexistence of contradicting emotions and how the chaotic mess of it all is just a natural part of being human throughout the songs, it's kinda wild how much they write lyrics that directly contradict each other ex: the obvious one being cyph4 and reflection with self love, saying they cant promise everything's gonna be okay and then proceeding to do just that later in 2,3! as well as in mama, the entire song lost literally "lost my way" "found my way" like which one is it? both at the same time, maybe i'll never fly in awake vs all of outro:wings, the conviction in 21st century girl when they say dont let anyone tell you that you arent good enough/arent worth it vs the self doubt of awake and confusion in reflection, the contrast between stigma and begin is also crazy like thank you my brother vs im sorry my brother, you deserve to be loved in 21st century girl vs the self condemnation in stigma, "i'd rather have hate comments than no comments" in cyph4 to saying you're abnormal if you dont get affected by online criticism in am i wrong, and so so many more bts normalizing feeling every emotion at once>>> and speaking of am i wrong, i love the way it's immediately followed by 21st century girl. am i wrong basically says everything's a mess and you'd have to be insane to be unaffected by it and then [[enter 21st century girl stage left]] bts say fuck everyone else dont listen to them, let's be unaffected in this shit world, let's be insane in a world where the norm is to be affected. along with the crazy soundbites they use (the out of tune recorder(?) is my personal fave) and the "SCREAM", it really just feels like deciding to go insane, i.e. deciding to not let the world bring you down . and um yeah... i think that's most of it... ive been writing this for like over an hour and if i really tried, relistened to the album, and spent more time i'd probably be able to expand on this for even longer🧍🏻 when the songs are so personal and made with a purpose, with a message in mind, it's just so fun to pick apart and chew on. this is a lot of army's favorite album by bts and honestly i completely get it. even with such unique tracks that differ in color, mood, genre, the through-line is so strong that the album stays cohesive. and just man... how could you not love bts?? I think the playlist was of you never walk alone. The interlude wings did not contain the last Hobi verse after the breakdown. The song is fireee but when the outro was released with hobi's verse, it quickly became one of his most iconic verses (every hobi verse is iconic). Loved your reaction though 💜.

if i were to describe what the wings album feels like to me
it feels like eating at one of those bougie restaurants that cook in front of you (hear me out)
boy meets evil and blood sweat n tears feel like the waiter introducing the menu.

(boy meets evil and bs&t lyrics are as pretty as they are piercing. i think it was namjoon who mentioned that at first they were hesitant to name the title track blood sweat & tears bc they thought it sounded unpleasant. like they werent sure about naming the song after bodily fluids lmao. but the title is so fitting for how the lyrics make me feel. like reading the lyrics i can see open wounds dripping with blood, over exertion, tears of frustration, putting your hand over an open flame
and for some reason, the scene in sleeping beauty where she pricks her finger.)
then after you get an idea of what the meal's gonna look like, the solo songs from each of the members
the solo songs feel like introducing the un-prepped ingredients
raw... all their solo songs feel so raw like a freshly rooted vegetable still covered in dirt, a slab of meat that still smells of blood, uncooked rice that screams for water.
the solo songs are so unapologetic
they are ingredients that still carry the fragrance of where they came from
and then as we go into the rest of the album it's just course after course of beautiful dishes
and you know that thing when food tastes even better when you cook it yourself/saw it being cooked??
like those full 7 member songs hit so different after 7 the solo tracks
like you can pick out and recognize the different flavors
easiest example: you can taste reflection in cypher p.4
reflection: "i wish i could love myself"
(uncooked rice grain, will break your teeth if u try to chew it)
cypher p.4: "i love i love i love i love myself"
(cooked rice, completely opposite texture, added spices, edible)
in lost, 2,3! , outro wings, 21st century girl
the lyrics are so comforting and reassuring on their own
but after first love (where yoongi recalls moments where he wanted to give up), after lie (where jimin expresses pain and feeling trapped), after awake (where seokjin confesses that he doesnt feel good enough), after stigma (where tae is riddled with guilt and self accusations),
the other songs are even better. the solo songs add context to the ot7 songs
i feel like begin (where it's made so apparent how deeply jungkook feels love and gratitude) adds so much weight to every thank you bts say in the rest of the album
oh and the flavor of mama (which tells the story of hobi and his family going through hardships and making it out the other side) is so present in 2,3!
the "letter to a friend who you've been through shit with" vibe in both songs is delectable
just the overwhelming security and confidence in cypher p.4 after hearing the rapline's solos is ugh it's just so good
adds another layer ya know?
also overall theme/message of the album would be the season for ingredients i think
like how in the winter you get tangerines, avocados in spring, blueberries in summer, and apples in fall (yes i did google which season bears which fruit for the sake of this analogy)
the "season" of this album to me is accepting the coexistence of contradicting emotions and how the chaotic mess of it all is just a natural part of being human
throughout the songs, it's kinda wild how much they write lyrics that directly contradict each other
ex: the obvious one being cyph4 and reflection with self love, saying they cant promise everything's gonna be okay and then proceeding to do just that later in 2,3! as well as in mama, the entire song lost literally "lost my way" "found my way" like which one is it? both at the same time, maybe i'll never fly in awake vs all of outro:wings, the conviction in 21st century girl when they say dont let anyone tell you that you arent good enough/arent worth it vs the self doubt of awake and confusion in reflection, the contrast between stigma and begin is also crazy like thank you my brother vs im sorry my brother, you deserve to be loved in 21st century girl vs the self condemnation in stigma, "i'd rather have hate comments than no comments" in cyph4 to saying you're abnormal if you dont get affected by online criticism in am i wrong, and so so many more

this is a lot of army's favorite album by bts and honestly i completely get it.
even with such unique tracks that differ in color, mood, genre, the through-line is so strong that the album stays cohesive.
and just man... how could you not love bts?? like yeah their songs are bangers but even beyond that
they explain the weird undefined soup of emotions you feel as a young adult so well.
they just get it
there's a catharsis that comes from hearing them say the words i didnt even know were stuck in my throat
idk... you just feel a little less alone when you listen to their songs
